The TT Football Club

United will be fine in a few years I reckon. I’m not sure if they’ll return to title winning days but they have enough young players they can stockpile and at least get back near the top of the table. Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven are both going to be top quality as is Kobbie Mainoo.

Not a single shot for us :-D No blocks, no wild hits over the bar. Just nothing.

Despite winning 4 in a row we’ve been largely mediocre in all 4 games. We’ve played Copenhagen twice and 2/3 relegation teams. Easy to get results when you play nothing but dross.

And please don’t anyone bring up “Copenhagen beat United last year!1!!!”. My nan could coach a win over Ten Hag I reckon.

I’d be much more impressed if we show a full 90 minute performance with composure and tactical IQ against a top half side in the league. It doesn’t have to be a Liverpool or Arsenal. Just a quality effort over Bournemouth would be fine.

There will most likely be 5 UCL spots out of England next year. Chelsea should do it. Plus winning the conference league. It would be a huge boost to get back into the UCL after a long absence plus winning a trophy for the first time in 3 years… which is too long for a club this big.

There's no sugarcoating it, those last 4 games you mentioned have been a grim watch.

Obviously, earlier in the season we were swashbuckling, but very easy to slice through. It lead to a lot of dropped points and failure to see out games we should've won.

It seems like Maresca has gone totally in the opposite direction and is playing extra conservatively. It's not great going forward, but it's solid and we're controlling games.

It's not fun, but i'm just hoping that maybe when Madueke and Jackson are back after the break, the two styles we've seen this season can merge into one. We go out and smash teams like early in the season, but control the game after and see it out whilst not giving up many chances like we are now. That would be a winning formula.

The only things I can think of that have changed is the injuries to Jackson and Madueke, the two most dynamic attacking players. The other is the owners coming out and saying UCL is a must, so it's more results over performances time for Maresca.

As for UCL. I went through the hellish remaining fixtures and gave us more points over the final 10 games than we picked up over the previous 10 during the slump. Even being kind and giving us more points, I don't see UCL being a likely outcome.

Not sure why he would put his reputation on the line for something nobody else has reported on.

Either way, this makes no sense. Why would we want a wing back? And it’s an open secret he’s going to Man Utd, no? @Poisoned Slice

The latest Man United priority signing to go somewhere else, I guess. Good luck to him. Can only hope plan B is as good as I hope Dorgu will become, since Mendes was supposed to be plan A, as unlikely as it was. But then with this one, I thought since they had worked together before, maybe there was a chance.

It was another one of those ''agreed personal terms,'' but that doesn't really mean anything, especially not with United. Chelsea sniped in.

I wouldn’t worry, I doubt it’s real.

It’s an excellent account, but it’s more of a scouting one that finds new talents. I’ve never seen them mention transfer stuff before, let alone break stories. Especially when nobody else has even mentioned it.

He’s probably been hacked or something.

That's what I thought, then I checked to make sure the date wasn't April 1st. Fabrizio is reporting on it now, he gave the ol here we go.

No. It’s real. Fabrizio confirmed it 30 mins ago. He’s coming in 2026.

I know he’s highly touted and we stole him underneath United’s nose but… more children…

We were linked with Kimmich a few weeks ago and that excited me. Looks like it’s same old same old.

What the hell :-D

That’s crazy. I know we looked at him a lot last summer, but it was a back up incase we couldn’t get Estevao.

Once he was signed, I thought that was the end of it.

The only thing I can think of is that he doesn’t want to play wing back. He’s an incredible talent, way too good to be stuck doing defensive work long term.

Still crazy though.

Sanchez gonna be in goal vs Arsenal, no clean sheet i guess.

And why is Reece James called up for England, a football player that gets to work from home so often like Mount.

I’m honestly shocked he didn’t call up Mount. Tuchel had a major fetish for him while he was here.

Two in one day!

Last time I went shopping in Portugal I came back with some Milka and Toblerone from Duty Free.

Quenda and Essugo is putting me to shame.

Wonder if all these deals with Sporting Lisbon means Gyokeres is more likely

IMG-4138.jpg

Now it's coming out that United didn't even want Quenda that badly, mainly due to cutting down on transfer fees.. Well, it said there was interest, but it never went beyond initial discussions. Yeah yeah, maybe this is cope, but I genuinely don't feel like it because I never got hyped about him, I've never watched him play, I don't exactly feel like he was stolen. Plus, it's United so even if he was coming I probably still wouldn't have believed it. So it's all a big whatever man. lol Cope harder kid.

But anyway, what will be will be.

I heard that Man Utd were making strong moves for Quenda.

The moves in question..

Nah I have no idea really. Wasn’t really paying attention, apart from the usual headlines after Amorim joined and the journalists were trotting out their lazy headlines. “Amorim wants Inacio”. “Quenda in January”. “United will make a move for Gyokeres in the summer”.

They always seem to link managers with former players.

Journalists aren’t the most imaginative bunch :p

It said his decision was influenced by the one and only Rory Jennings. jk It said it was influenced because of his transformation to an out and out winger since Ruben Amorim left Sporting.

''haha for somebody that doesn't care, you sure are saying a lot.''

''I'm just making conversation. My thoughts are on Leicester. 12th charge coming at the end of the season lads.''

Gyokeres to Chelsea. Beat Arsenal for him.

Not wanting to play wing back for the next 5 years makes a lot of sense.

Apparently he’s an insane talent. Maybe not Yamal or Estevao level, but right up there.

Like I can’t imagine he would want to go into games against Madrid or Barcelona and everyone is talking about Vini, Rodrygo, Yamal.. whilst he’s stuck playing the Victor Moses role.

Having said that, signing for a team who are stacked with superstar talents on the wing already probably isn’t a great move either.

Quenda goes to Chelsea in 2026 and we get Sancho back in 2025. The Man Utd way. I hope not.

Now the journalists are being evil and linking us with Samu since Gyokeres, Sesko and others, we supposedly have been looking at, are not interested because of the real possibility of no European football. Again though, his release clause is so high, even if it says European football is not his top priority, it still looks way too high. I would not expect it. Also, for as talented as he is, I'm hoping for the finished article forward or at least somebody close to it. Not past peak like Ronaldo, Cavani and co, but more than raw Hojlund ingredients. No idea what we're going to do.

''Man Utd looking to bring heavy volume in this summer.'' According to David Ornstein. So we've finally gone all out and joined the hardcore drugs rackets.

The spin now says rwb is not the top priority. Yeah, this worries me because Mazraoui is wasted at rwb and Dalot is just wasted, most of the time. GTA style.

Again, my priority is goalkeeper, rwb, centre midfielder and forward.

Be interesting to see what happens with Sancho. Every journalist seems to be mentioning the penalty fee for sending him back to Man Utd. The timing is a bit weird, we hadn’t heard anything about that until this week.

Yeah, no UCL is a big issue. I think it played a part in our awful window last summer, although having said that, I’m not really sure how big a difference it would’ve made. The owners seem to prefer 17 year old project players in general.

Will be interesting to see what they do if we sneak UCL this year. Maybe they’ll be going after elite, established players.. but I won’t hold my breath.

Samu is £80m, right? I don’t really know what’s going on with him. There’s a weird situation between Atletico and Porto where Atletico own most of his rights, Porto own one of his arms, but they have an option to buy his left leg in the summer. Sounds like a right mess, but is he very good. It seems like he’s cooled down a lot after his hot start, which I suppose reminds us all that he’s still very much a work in progress.

Sky predictor thinks we beat Leicester 1-0. Final game of Dorgu's suspension. Those weird ass 7pm Sunday kickoffs.

I'm still thinking about rwb all day now, Amad. Yeah, he's not much defensively, but just to where he will play. Maybe he plays further up but Zirkzee is starting to play well there. I guess options are good and all. I suppose it makes it easier to understand if rwb isn't the priority if you think this way.

Just finished watching the full Real Madrid-Atletico game since I fell asleep and missed the end.

While I will say @Kralingen is correct about how awful of a game Bellingham had (which I also said live) - his leadership is undeniable. His reaction to Vini Jr's crucial penalty miss was class, as was getting on his butt later for being lazy.

Vini Jr melts down and acts like a baby when things are bad. Mbappe just disappears. Bellingham still puts the work in and any "negative" emotion directed / deserved ire to his team.

Gotta say, I wish United had a guy like that.

We do, Bruno.

We do, Bruno.
Sorta. Bruno goes the way of Vini Jr sometimes. Too emotional.

But you're also right, if we had 11 Bruno's we wouldn't be catching relegation jokes and we'd be playing on Tuesday's/Wednesday's in Europe.

Guess it's easier to give credit to Bellingham since it's easier to do that on an actually elite team.

That also all said, Real Madrid's front 3 better fix it or I actually do think Arsenal can win the tie.

You are right though. Bruno is the only bright spot when it comes to leadership. Just easier to hand out leadership badges when you're the best team in Europe most years.

But I was impressed with Bellingham in that regard on Wednesday.
Maybe Bruno will let Rasmus hit a penalty if we're winning 4-0 or something. :D Until then, no chance. I think De Ligt is a leader, taking charge of the backline.

It’s a weird position, I guess. It feels like where you stick full backs who can’t defend, or players who weren’t good enough to be a winger.

We’ve had success with it on two occasions (Conte and Tuchel). That was with Marcos Alonso, Victor Moses and Ben Chilwell.

Just thinking of the other teams who use it successfully. There’s Leverkusen, with Frimpong who can’t defend and isn’t good enough to be a winger.. but is rapid. And Inter, Di Marco and Grimaldo are both unathletic, slow, can’t keep up with wingers defensively, but have a lot of quality on the ball (as long as they haven’t had to do any running).

Which leaves the Scottish Equalizer, Denzel Dumfries. He’s someone who seems made for it and is getting better with age. Maybe he could be an option? Inter always have to sell.

As for other options. How did Aramburu look for Sociedad? He’s supposed to be good. Rensch at Roma plays RWB and has looked incredible. They only signed him from Ajax in January, think they only paid something like £3m for him.

Oh, and how could I forget! Andrei Ratiu. 6’2, runs all day, quicker than Mbappe. I think Barcelona want to replace Kounde with him, so he might not be cheap.

I didn't really notice much of Aramburu until he got sent off. I was reading about Ratiu earlier, the report was how he's already found his apartment in Barcelona. :D We've been linked with Dumfries for a long time, he wants to play in the league etc. Just never happened but now that it's all about Amorim's system and players. We've got Diego Leon coming in the summer when he's 18, but he's lwb. Maybe it's one of those outside the box situations. I know Dorgu has played on the right before. I don't know, I think I'd be expecting somebody else.

Bellingham would come to United and turn into a baby with our luck anyway. So it's not even a 1:1 thing on either side of it. Not just with Bruno.
In another timeline, we sign his brother and he scores the winning goal in the Champions League final 2 seasons in a row. In our timeline, we sign him and he scores one fancy goal before he turns up at Swansea on loan 2 years later.

I’ve probably seen Sociedad 5 times this season (didn’t get to watch yesterday). 90% of those games they’ve been absolutely slapped up :-D it’s a bit weird, they’ve still got a lot of good players, they’ve just been awful this year. Aramburu is supposed to be very good though, could be a buy low opportunity?

Haha yeah Ratiu is incredible. He’s like a much bigger, right footed, quicker version of Kerkez.. and Kerkez isn’t exactly slow.

I can understand why Man Utd fans want a Quenda, or I’ve heard them talking about Dibling, or sticking with Amad there. None of those really seem like realistic solutions. They’re way too good to be limited like that. Maybe it works for a year or two whilst they’re young and grateful for the opportunity, but they won’t be happy staying there long term.

Suppose it’s like Saka and Bale playing there for their entire career. Sure, that’s where they started off, but they outgrew it pretty quickly.

Haven’t checked FPL in weeks, glad I got the change in this morning. Absolute slaughter this week. Why are so many teams off?

League Cup final tomorrow, so Liverpool, Newcastle and their opponents this week (Villa and Palace) don’t play.

Tough to navigate, for sure!

Big win for Real Madrid in the La Liga title race today. First win @Villareal since 2017 (in La Liga). Did not expect that coming off a 120 minute game just 3 days earlier. Ninja Turtle was sublime. That is the turtle @Kralingen needs vs Gunners.

Atletico vs Barcelona tomorrow. Can't wait.

Reijnders pass to Pulisic for the equaliser. Very nice. His goal was nice too.

The red card looks spot on to me. Kyle Walker being the fake gentleman is also spot on.
