Raheem Sterling is available for free. Let's not miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime, here, United. Get him in. :notworthy:

And yeah, I admit it. There are two very good reasons why I watched Anisimova vs Pegula yesterday.

Man Utd being unsure about what to do with Harry Maguire does make a bit of sense for once. Nothing to do with the player, if it were a simple choice of keep or leave, then I'm definitely a keep man at this point. But when you think about a possible new manager.

Casemiro, bless him, took it out of their hands, or perhaps it was more of a we're not going to pay you as much choice. Again, it's quite understandable.

I hope Cunha starts vs Fulham.

Jose Mourinho is reminding me of Chris from The Sopranos when Benfica needed another goal. ''Why didn't somebody tell me?'' But, unlike The Sopranos, Jose got his happy ending here, and Trubin scored. Damn, can only imagine the scenes after a win like that. This is life.

It is funny when I think of Jose. haha He's ready to go mad at somebody; I think he probably did, but then for your goalkeeper to score. Amazing.

I have a question. Is America as crazy as people say it is?

I haven’t spoke to one for years, but met a girl from Boston on a layover. Almost immediately she was going crazy about orange man, calling for a civil war, she’s cut off family members, telling me she’s a “Demisexual” (whatever that is) and about 10 minutes later was attempting to mate with me.

Is this fairly standard stuff? She’s a middle school teacher and had alot of tattoos, but no nose ring. If this helps.

Yes, it's really bad.

That was some turnaround. Up the Chelsea.

Bonkers.

One of the worst first half performances I’ve ever seen. Garnacho looks like he’s playing with a ball 5x the weight of everyone else, yet somehow has trampoline like qualities :-D how can you not be able to carry it so you stand still, but every touch or pass balloons off in a random direction? Takes some doing.

Then the comeback was on. 90th minute winner and a brawl.

I think this is why it’s so difficult to win the league if you’re from London. First league games for the manager were Brentford, Palace and West Ham (Arsenal and Charlton in the cups, Fulham he was in charge but interim did the heavy lifting).

Out of his first 8 games, 7 are London Derby’s, the other was Napoli away. Mad when you think about it.

Yeah, that is mad.

Ol Red Nev was hounding Garnacho all half, although I think everybody was because he kept getting caught out. I still felt from recent form that your comeback was on, and you could sort of feel it in the air when you scored your first. Todibo's angry expression made me think of the Winning Time series' Kareem Abdul Jabbar. It wouldn't be the first time, as I believe I previously brought up a fight Todibo was involved in. :D Gary Neville again, ''he's lost it.'' Yeah.

It was a good game. I didn't bother with Liverpool vs Newcastle.

He did look like Kareem Abdul Jabbar :-D

It’s a bit mad really, I think a few players were slapping and throwing hooks. When you think that Everton player got sent off for hardly touching his teammate at OT. Was amazed it was only one red.

Yeah I wasn’t really sure what Neville was on about with Garnacho. “He’s low on confidence, usually he’s driving at defenders”. Is he really? He has the worst take on percentage in the league over the last 3 seasons :-D he’s abysmal. The one thing he is good at was that 1-2 where he got in behind early. Which is great if you’re at a midtable team, but for a team who plays against 5-4-1 in a stinky low block every week? It’s pointless. There is zero room, getting in behind would mean he’s sitting on the lap of the fella on the front row!

City a fascinating watch at the moment, piling all of that attacking talent on to the pitch but everything still hinging on a Rodri for whom getting booked merely means you're allowed to commit even more fouls!

I suspect they'll just brush this one off as Tottenham continuing to be a thorn in their side - not every team in their next 14 league games is going to have a player transform into Zlatan Ibrahimovic for 45 minutes like Solanke did.

Quite interesting.

Always amazes me when you come across these small YouTube accounts putting out videos with this level of production and research. Thought I’d share it and show him some love.

February already, so a good moment to do a small update. In the first leg of Copa do Brasil's final, after a disappointing 0-0 draw playing at home, Corinthians won the return match against Vasco by 2-1, in a quite decent match IMO and hence became last year Copa do Brasil champion. And yesterday, it beat Flamengo by 2-0 to also get Supercopa do Brasil title.

P.S: What is the reason for Chelsea not having a main sponsor in its shirt?

And yesterday, it beat Flamengo by 2-0 to also get Supercopa do Brasil title.

Many reasons!

They’re one of the bigger teams, so the money would have to be considerable. That rules out most companies.

They’re run by Private Equity, big brands don’t want to be associated with that.

They’ve taken out massive loans with eye watering interest rates in the clubs name. Again, big brands don’t want any part of those business practices.

They’ve made it clear they don’t want to challenge for the big honours, more content to be a player trading entity to make a bit of profit. If a brand is spending £60m a year, they want to see their name on the shirt of the team lifting the Premier League or UCL, not a shiny Brighton. Chelsea are mid by design.

“You don’t have to spend crazy money on payroll for players. There are teams in the Premier League that spend 10% of what the top 5, 6 teams spend on payroll. We hired a coach from Brighton and we think they’re one of the best-run teams in the Premier League. They spend 10% on the payroll, win almost as much and is a very stable mid-market, mid-table, very profitable club.” - Eghbali

“Ultimately what we’re trying to build a business that can increase in value significantly and that means a lot more than winning or losing on the pitch.” - Jose Feliciano (Clearlake co owner)

The stadium is another issue. These days big brands want their name all over mega stadiums. They want luxury boxes for entertaining clients, customers seeing their name when they go to see Beyoncé concerts or the biggest boxing events. Tech companies want their technology to be the centre piece of a mega stadium etc..

The owners themselves have created a Private Equity style club. It’s cold, corporate and packed with company men throughout. They’ve replaced arguably the worlds best academy with coaches from a youth project in South London, the managers they hire are mid ‘yes’ men, Sporting Directors who only buy players from certain agencies where their friends get commission. They replaced the medical staff with a celebrity fitness agency. The owners, SD’s and medical department pick the team each week (one of the reasons Maresca couldn’t hack it anymore). There’s no institutional knowledge at the club, no best in class anything.

They’re developing a reputation of a club to be avoided. Be that the destruction of Strasbourg, hoarding young players they treat like cattle, amateur in negotiations. Dortmund the latest club who they’ve annoyed with their unprofessional way of doing things.

These are all things the biggest brands take into account.

When you think of the sponsors in general they’ve managed to get in the last 4 years. It’s been a temporary one with a company Clearlake own (Infinite Athlete), some random Vietnamese AI company that nobody has heard of (another Clearlake company) and Pegasus Airlines.. who I’m lead to believe are like the Turkish version of Ryanair.

Wow. That seems like a dire situation! Surprised to hear all that, as I thought it was a simple matter of Chelsea wanting too much money.

Oh yeah, the shirt sponsor is about 492nd on the list of major issues. I wish that was the only thing we had to worry about :-D and that’s just financially. The running of the football side of things is every bit as bad.

Here’s a quick thread if you’re interested in how royally screwed they are (and using the club as a human shield).

I can't find the numbers at the moment, but Marky did bring up something interesting the other day. Just comparing the number of shots Man Utd are taking before and after. I know Sesko had a lot of shots in his first game. Scoring them would be even better, then I defend that with the ol ''gotta be in to win.''

It's Spurs tomorrow. They've had our number, and their away record isn't so bad. That's a bit of an understatement; it's rather good, but then, it's Spurs. Oh dear, I can feel myself being arrogant here, starting to think our forward line is rocking, then we don't score tomorrow. It's gone as I thought it would. Not the results, just the lineup, mainly. Mbeumo up front drifting wide, instead of the opposite.

But yeah, overall, three games, just for the entertainment factor of watching your team play, good stuff.

''We shall revisit this.''

Indeed.

I think it's the same for many many many many Man Utd fans out there. It's not the same feeling of dread going into a match now, even if we get beaten.

I still feared Tottenham scoring to level it up because we did miss a couple of good ones. We probably should've had a penalty as well when Maguire was caught.

Goldbridge was talking about him there because he was asked about getting him shaved on the United Stand. I think the guy turned him down because he wasn't being offered enough. Bro looking Ronaldo money during his 15 minutes of fame.

It was funny when he cut to the chase. ''I like the guy, and it's nice that he is getting some exposure, but we're Manchester United, we're United Stand, I've been doing this for 10 years and I don't give a sh1t about a haircut.'' :D

Here here.

While offering the man a tenner, Goldbridge pretended to be offering him large sums of money.

Really, I'm just happy Casemiro got out of there without being injured after that tackle. We have a couple of three options up front, but if you lose Casemiro, you're then bringing in Fletcher and Ugarte. It is going to catch us eventually, but yeah, nice to win four in a row.
