Forest has 35 shots but 0-0 vs Wolves.

Pep still has that suspicious look around ol Joe. Maybe it's just the camera angle. 8-B

Let's ave it right. Up The Badge in FC. Great work.

You’re right! He does :-D didn’t he get rid of him for Ederson because he wasn’t very good with his feet? And then he got rid of Ederson because he couldn’t stop a shot for Donnarumma who can’t kick a ball.

Pick a lane, Pep.

I doubt you caught Johnny last night, but he was fuming, as you can imagine.

I did actually treat myself a Stone Island jumper in November. I’ve wanted it for years, it’s a chunky cable knit one with dust treatment. Think it was £550 when it came out in 2023, I’ve looked for awhile but never seen any second hand until November (safe to say it was considerably cheaper). But yes, I gave it its first outing in Birmingham before Christmas for the standard Alberts Schloss photo everyone gets (do they have them in NI?). Just ignore the Hugo Zero, which I think is a non alcoholic Gin and Tonic. Should really have put it down.

Handsome as ever, straight off the cover of a magazine. It is an impressive jumper. No, we don't have Albert Schloss over here, at least not yet.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Pep is pondering what may have happened if he had retained Joe Hart. It's pretty hard to imagine, given how successful they've been.

Brentford to try and make things interesting later and put ''the greatest squad ever assembled'' under some pressure

It's not too often the news comes out as late as this, but Sean Dyche is no longer Nottingham Forest manager. Wowzers.

Oh, the news came out a few hours ago, I just didn't have it on. Awk well, he gave it a go.

Haha thanks. It’s like a Photo Booth kind of thing, I think they have them in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and London. Kind of like a Bavarian beer hall with alpine food. Was ok to be fair.

I have mixed feelings on tonight’s game. An Arsenal loss throws things wide open, but I have 3 Arsenal players as they have two games this week, and even triple captained Gabriel. Which now feels like madness. If he could score a couple of those scrappy headers and they lose 3-2? That would be perfect.

I'm sure good Kralingen would say it is about f'en time. lol
As his authorized forum representative on this specific topic, I will confirm that yes it was about time. I personally stopped even caring that Spurs were playing PL matches because it was so soul crushingly depressing. Here's hoping the board is sharp on their game and makes a deal happen with Xabi before Liverpool start seriously entertaining the thought of moving on from Slot.

Ange stating Spurs isn't a big club, was he even the right person for a mid-table club his stint in Forest was historic for all the wrong reasons.

No he's very good at talking and has a good sense of narratives so he knows yapping like he does now when Spurs botched his replacement will make people forget how horrifically out of depth his own reign was.

I found it quite interesting. It’s very much where we are at. Spend a lot on transfer fees, but unwilling to pay anything close to decent wages. You’re only ever going to be mid at best.

Like we’d rather spend £95m on Gittens and Garnacho (on £100k a week each) than buy Kvaratskhelia for £60m and £250k a week.

Now we have two left wingers who are unplayable and will have to go back into the market to spend another £60m on someone to try and fix it.

Same with the defence. The goals we concede are hilarious. We’ve spent loads on it. But it’s all unproven players on bottom of the barrel contracts.

It’s the same at Spurs.

Interestingly, there was a report out today from Brighton (the king of this model) saying they’re starting to question their model. They’ve wasted so much money their owner has to pump it back in every 6 months.

It was Matt Law on The Telegraph, so it’s behind a paywall. But it’s an interesting read if you can find it. Spurs and Chelsea have gone down the same route and it’s not working for our clubs either.

Cholo destroyed Barcelona today sheesh.

Vamos Brentford

Take it you watched Barcelona over the Arsenal game?

Brentford might be my favourite team to watch this season. They’re like a rugby team in silk slippers. Their throw ins are more like lineouts, they kick into touch, corners are like scrums. They’re horrible to play against, but they’ve got bags of quality too.

Arsenal had a hellish evening up against them.

I missed both sadly. I just saw the Cholo pics on r/soccer. I am sure HD version is floating around.

There is sense in wage structure to some extent because without safeguards you can end up like Barcelona but yeah they need to be a little more relaxed with them.

True, I know Chelsea fans aren’t calling for a starting XI on £350k a week each. It’s more just get a proper CB. Bastoni or Schlotterbeck? £250k. Spend £200m chasing LW’ers or buy Kvaratskhelia on £250k last January and be set. Alvarez wants to join his best friend Enzo. 26 year old on £240k? Forget about it. We’ll stick with Delap and Guiu :-D

And those are the real luxuries. In the past two summers we’ve had Olise and Ekitike wanting to join, only to leave it because they wanted £220k and £200k respectively. Did all the work for Simons all summer then decided nah, £200k is too much. Now granted, we might’ve dodged a bullet with that one. But when you can’t sign anyone unless their wages begin with a 1? That’s so mid.

What do we think about Xabi to Spurs? It seems crazy on the surface but if the reports are true that he wants to resume managing asap then I think it becomes a good option because they have CL to offer immediately and a lot of strong young talent (Gray, Bergvall) to work with. Obviously not if he thinks there is a real chance that Slot leaves Liverpool soon but I can't believe that Slot goes before at least next season. Spurs and Liverpool don't like each other but it is not the sort of rivalry boundary crossing as someone like Arteta or Fabregas.

Is this the same Simons that Tottenham ended up signing? :/

Yeah I see the point. You need to have a few "luxury" signings to anchor the whole squad or otherwise be not penny wise/pound foolish.

Yeah, was supposedly all done. Then Spurs offered him £200k and we weren’t going to do that. I think it’s a fair price, he’s not elite, but he’s not going to be a player on low wages. But low wages is all we do. We get what we pay for, unfortunately.

Big risk of ending up on a Ten Hag style trajectory.

Would love it if Xabi went to Spurs, just to **** on the possibility of taking over at Liverpool and them hopefully turning to Gerrard who will self destruct the club.

Igor Tudor is in to stabilise results since he's such a master of it or something. Yeah, I looked at his record. They showed me the first 9 games, but were reluctant to show me anything after that. Probably have to like and subscribe for that intel.

Another interm until the end of the season. Feels like the smart thing to do, and you might have trouble getting in the manager you truly want right about now. And does that manager even want to join you ever? No, Luis Enrique will never join Man Utd.

Xabi is still on fraud watch, quite frankly. Luis Enrique isn't. But Mbappe is. Ohhhhh.

1-1 with Brentford, huh, I knew those bums would fold.
paulie.jpg

A lot of football still to be played, Paulie. But if you ask me, Erik ten Hag still has some good ideas. I mean, look at what happened to Ruben Amorim, the 'special one 2.0'.

I don't even know who they are, Tone.

Tudor did well at steadying the ship at Juventus. But when the wheels came off, they came off big time. He’s very limited. It wouldn’t be a huge shock if they do a Forest and change managers again before the end of the season if things look grim.

Chelsea looked good tonight. Fair play to Rosenior. It feels like what you get when a new manager comes in and tweaks things a bit. Slot was great when he added a bit of control to Klopp’s madness, Rosenior adds a bit more freedom to Maresca’s strict positional stuff. It’s nice stuff, platforms players and causes teams a lot of problems (especially low block back 5’s, our kyptonite under Maresca).

But yes, debut for Sarr. Looked excellent on the ball, didn’t have any defending to do. Hat-trick of assists for Delap, hat-trick of goals for Neto.

First time not having a midweek game since October, so let’s see what Rosenior comes up with after actually getting to work on tactical stuff and it’s not all recovery sessions.

I heard a most fascinating stat. Man City and Arsenal have already played 41 games this season, that's more than Man Utd will manage all season. 40 will be our total after being eliminated in our first round of the FA Cup and the Rumbelows Cup, plus we are not in Europe. Like I said, fascinating.

We’re also on 41. And that’s after playing the CWC all summer, not having a break or a preseason :-D

25 games in the last 9 weeks over the winter period. Man Utd have had 15 in that time.

It’s definitely a blessing and a curse. We don’t have a game for a week now and.. I’m a bit bored. Almost feels like an international break. That all season doesn’t sound great from a fans POV.

Then again, extra rest means healthier players over a long period and increases the chances of having a better season.

Pick your poison I guess.

YES please.

Mostly because it would tilt Liverpool plastics.

I’ve no idea how we’ve played every round of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup this season.. and not been drawn at home once :-D was similar last season.

9 ties away without home advantage = 0.1953%. Wolves and Burnley had better odds of winning the Premier League this season! Could’ve made good money betting on that.

Oh well, we’re off to Wales to play Deadpool FC.

A 2-1 away defeat to our Catalan neighbors Girona has resulted in relinquishing the top of the table.

Terribly wasteful in the first half, Yamal in particular with the one on one shot straight at the keeper then hitting the post from the penalty. Considering this was a good opportunity to make a statement and bounce back from the heavy 4-0 defeat against Atletico in the 1st leg of Copa del Rey semis a few days ago, can't say I feel too bad for the guys. Definitely a low point of Barcelona's season after enjoying a long winning streak in domestic competitions only a month ago.

A complete robbery however allowing Girona's second goal to stand. A stamp on Kounde that is also a yellow card any day, wasn't even checked by VAR. Can't say this surprised me at all. Many casuals have constructed this fantasy that Barca are privileged on the pitch in Spain, but in La Liga 19 out of 20 clubs will get screwed over every now and then. Today was Barca's turn.

At this point, since I find it hard to imagine going all the way in the Champions League with this defense or scoring at least 4 goals against Atletico in the return leg of Copa semis, all I am hoping for is that there is less than three points deficit when the "royals" come to Camp Nou, and we finally have a fully fit squad. Y que sera sera...

It’s been a long old slog of a season. I think many top teams have had down patches and they all look vulnerable in some way.

Was similar last season. Let’s not forget PSG (who ended up winning everything) were struggling to even make the top 24 in the UCL at this point of the season!

3 months to go is essentially the run in. Who’s going to get it together and go on a hot streak this time? Could be anyone.

Right now my guess is Man City. Semenyo and Guehi are big signings, and it feels like Pep is leaving at the end of the season. For a team who are known for kicking into gear at this point of the season, feels like the stars could align for them.

But I think most of the big teams will be thinking like that.

Final score: 1-1 90+13 (Trubin assisted by Mourinho).

I seem to have selected well. I watched Galatasary v Juventus then Monaco v PSG.

Couple of unhinged games, which is what we like to see.

Another racist incident has unfortunately marred the rest of this one. Such a shame. Pure cinema last game and this game up til that.
