The TT Football Club

I don't care for Arsenal and like how the current PSG plays a lot more but as a French who used to root almost all the time against Paris and like a lot of French clubs a lot more, I just can't really bring myself to cheer for Paris to be the only French club to win 2 CLs and overtake Marseille.

They are more likeable now that they got rid of the big fancy superstars, and they play extremely well collectively, but a lot of non Parisians just don't like what they represent.
Which is probably what a lot of PL fans feel about City too.
A lot of other fans root for City in the title races vs Arsenal/Liverpool/United because they are just so irrelevant culturally. They have virtually no fanbase and them winning the league is just so…nothing. It creates zero noise or buzz. So a lot of people prefer them winning to other clubs.

That was quite different from the 1st leg. But the way Paris limited Bayern kind of makes me more confident in them for the final than if they prevailed in another goalfest. They are truly a complete team in all areas and can play with different approaches depending on what is best for them in the given moments. If it wasn't for Neuer there wouldn't have been any resemblance of drama at all today. I really hope my man Enrique retains the European crown.

Going to try and make room for tomorrow's Europa League game as I couldn't last week. Villa and Forest playing in these late continental stages is some beautiful nostalgia for someone who saw both of them being champions of Europe a long time ago...

Agreed! Would be delighted for Forest or Villa, if they were to win it. Probably lean towards Villa so the PL gets an extra UCL place. Which looks like it would go to Bournemouth or Brentford. Would be very bizarre seeing Real Madrid or Barcelona rocking up to play them under the Champions League lights :-D I’d love to see it though.

The bright lights of Bournemouth welcome PSG for a Champions League clash and then beat them. The beauty of football and the possibility of anybody can beat anybody, even if they can't, but then they actually do. Great times.

I guess part of that description is thinking of Arsenal vs PSG as well. I have to respect Arsenal for getting to the final, but just hard to spot a PSG weakness, and how well they defended their lead away from home. But again, who knows?

I wonder if Bournemouth would be allowed to play games at home? Think their stadium is 11k capacity and not sure the facilities are up to UEFA regulations. Hopefully they would though, seeing Vini and Mbappe there would be hilarious.

On a different note. Thought the referee was very good tonight. He was the same one that did Villa v Forest last week, and he did a great job in that game too.

Shame he didn’t get the Arsenal game last night. Hope the referee who did that match was looking on and taking notes.

Chalobah’s friend. The Substack piece is from a club insider.

If Chelsea are 10,000/1 to get relegated at the start of next season? Put a tenner on it and I’ll accept a nice Christmas present in size medium :)

Sad for Harry. Can’t be arsed about the result though. Gunners are going to win everything either way, it’s only delaying the inevitable.

Bigger fish to fry, as they say

Good performance today, much happier with their defending in what was still a fun game but much more like normal scoreline.
It's funny because both coaches were asked about last week and neither of them said the defenses were bad. Yet I saw PSG playing much better, more active, and as if they knew where Bayern was going with the ball much of the time.

''An online petition calling for Kylian Mbappe to be sold by Real Madrid at the end of the season has been rapidly growing on social media; The 'Mbappe Out' petition, which was aiming for 200,000 responses, now has over 30m signatures.''

29.9 million burner accounts running wild. Ric Flair has probably added his name. The numbers feel a little too outrageously exaggerated, though. Almost like modern time added on.

Mbappe has 85 goals in 100 games so far. Hardly a disaster. lol

I think he's the scapegoat, and it's one of those devil in the details situations. His stats look great, but no trophies for Real since he joined, and it looks like he was holding back PSG since they've reached 2 consecutive finals without him.

Also, romantic holidays. :D

''Mourinho is not the kind of manager who is going to put up with Mbappe's perceived ego, tantrums on the training ground or flying off on romantic holidays when you are injured.''

Last 12 RM games - 1 win in last 6 with Ninja Turtle, 6 wins in last 6 without him. They have to drop one of Vini/Mbappe.

And to be fair, people weren't even hindsight is 20/20 with it. When he got signed, they were immediately worried about Vini/Mbappe playing the same position.

I'm fully on the Kvartskelhia bandwagon; he's the best in the world.

Shame on me for excluding Pacho.

I was thinking, in any ordinary year his UCL performances would probably win him the Ballon d’Or.

You just know it’s going to go to someone who wins the World Cup, though.

As for Gabriel and Pacho. It’s definitely a close one. Gabriel is Terry, Pacho is Carvalho. Or Vidic and Ferdinand, respectively.

Can’t really go wrong selecting either, really.

I love the K Man! Like Dembele is amazing, but the speed, size and power that K has is unreal. You don't think a guy his size can out run guys down the pitch, but he does it time and time again. I really hope they can keep that trio of Doue, Dembele and K together.

Gotta give some credit to Pacho and Fabian for yesterday's performance, along with Zaire-Emery. Those three played some amazingly good defense.

Dembooz when he looks at the combined XI and see’s Deccers Pilau Rice in there.

Tchouameni is knocking teammates out.

''Real Madrid have opened disciplinary proceedings against Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni after a series of bust-ups between the players, including one that saw Valverde taken to hospital.

The team-mates were involved in a physical confrontation at the end of training on Wednesday and tempers flared again in training on Thursday.

Valverde was taken to hospital with a suspected head injury, but was quickly discharged and returned to the club's Valdebebas training ground.''

Don’t know if you’re interested @Poisoned Slice but there’s a new 3 part Berlusconi documentary on BBC Four.

It’s mostly about Italian post-war politics and the life and times of Berlusconi, through the lens of football and his time at Milan. So not an out and out football/Milan thing.

Thought the first episode was quite good though.

Sounds interesting. I'll take a look.

Strasbourg :(

What time does the game start? I think they’re still on the bus :-D

They got schooled, just didn’t turn up.

Would’ve been great to see Barco, Moreira, Enciso etc.. in a final, but I’m really pleased for Rayo Vallecano. I don’t watch La Liga much, but if I see one of the big 3 are playing them? I’ll try and watch.

I really like Iraola style teams, his fingerprints aren’t there as much now he’s been gone for a couple of years, but they’ve still got that 100mph, run all game, intensity about them.

It will be a tough game for Palace in the final.

Nice to have a 3 pm game on Saturday. We gotta take something from Arsenal. Team can't win, so I'm now part of the stat pad and records culture. Let's go, Bruno!
