I don't know if you watched the Minerals last night. I listened to a bit of his video just to get away from United non-news. It was hilarious. I know a lot of the chat thought the picture of Fernandez in a City shirt was AI, but Johnny was certain it wasn't, and I'm paraphrasing once more ''AI detectives have determined this picture is legit, Enzo Fernandez is now twerking for Enzo Maresca once again.''

He was good, being involved in the team's attacks as much as anyone else. His presence could help take some of the pressure off Yamal and Raphinha. Still early to draw big conclusions but so far he doesn't look like someone who only just joined the club this summer.

The biggest name transfer I can think of is Romero and that was undervalued by his known status. If you asked me to guess what their outgoing were before visiting Transfermarket I would have said something in the 80-90 range. I guess in addition to this, the purchase numbers are brought down by Marmoush being a deferred buy rather than a current year buy and the very ugly number attached to Mudryk that everyone was laughing about being a non-mandatory option rather than an acquisition price tag. I must admit that with all this I am still not super pumped about the Tonali purchase. Savi(nh)o I think I believe in - too much is being made by smoothbrain anti-Spurs banterers of the weak goal numbers while barely playing for City - but Tonali felt like a forced overspend for the Italian manager. Maybe I am making too much of him saying he feels like he compares to Gattuso while having Gattuso's recent managerial appointments in mindYeah, think they sold quite well!

Oh yes I completely forgot about that. Quite a bit of money given his age but if a player can command that much at that age I am not necessarily sure I agree with letting him go. I did not watch his loan spell in Bundesliga so I don't know if he showed concerning things or not.
Yeah Fernandes was a good signing. Maybe Tonali will recover some more of his old self being in London rather than Newcastle. But realistically you are right, the disappointment is more the misalignment with the number displayed and Spurs "finally" splashing cash only to get something that does not feel truly special, than it is actually thinking he is a negative player. And then when I look at what City spent on Enzo, who is talented but doesn't exactly inspire that feeling of inevitable elite tier success you would normally associate with a nine digit (pound sterling) transfer fee, maybe the price for Tonali isn't really so bad after all. A stable high energy presence giving order to the midfield structure and adding at least a moderate contribution to offense with incisive long passes will leave me satisfied.
Yeah I don't like this aspect. However Spurs are also trying to coalesce a lot of new pieces while continuing to miss Maddison so maybe it is also a byproduct of what he feels is most likely to win with the prevailing conditions. He seems too volatile in general to be spiritually anchored to that style of play. I also feel like that was not exactly the reputation I associated with him at Brighton.
