Delighted for them. My Dad used to work over in Burton and the company had tickers for Albion, so l remember those days!

Who says it has to stop at the Championship too? Sheffield Wednesday were languishing for years and could well be in the Premier League next year. Hull went from the bottom to the top, Bournemouth did it, Leicester too. What a story that would be.

Yeah, ''lucky Ajax' is no more. They were so poor today they also didn't deserve any.
Whole season has been pretty average anyway. No exceptional talents in there, except maybe Younes and conservative tactics most of the time. Nothing like Ajax of old.
PSV did take advantage pretty late but kuddos to them for hangin in there. Have more quality in the side and are better representives for our league in Europe.. of course still depending on 'the transfer market this summer.

Gunners may want Arsene out, but if we do manage to get top 4, we should be kissing his feet because of that 2-2 draw with City.

Atletico out of La Liga title race going into the final day, while Real are still alive. Maybe this helps Simeone, he can afford to rest his players for the CL final.

Looks like Granada, Barcelona's last opponent, have secured survival. Maybe the resistance won't be too strong, but you never know. Levante have already been relegated but have defeated Atletico Madrid today.

Wow, Ajax threw the Eredivisie away. Johan must be facepalming up there. :(

Can't believe that going to the final day, the only unfinished league is La Liga, the one that was usually in the past the league with least suspense at the top. I just hope Barcelona can cross that finish line, no matter how. They have been on top from pretty much the very start, would be a shame if they lose it.

Looks like Van Gaal can save himself. Win the last 3 matches and Man United have the FA Cup and CL football. Even though I am a big admirer of Pep, I would love to see the Red Devils finish 4th.

Ajax was a shock indeed. I am not too sure there's much drama in Spain. Barcelona have been in control for a long, long, time.

Thy are still up there, along with Porto and Shaktar, as one of the clubs with the best scouting systems in the world.

Comparing to Holland, not much drama I agree. Ajax and PSV switched places during the season a couple of times I believe. Barcelona had an 11 point lead not so long ago, now it's just 1. Still strong favorites to win but you just never know, even La Liga can produce occasional upsets (I hope not this time).

Everything in European football is set except for one thing, the 4th spot in England. I have a sick feeling Manchester will blow it against West Ham.

I don't want Sheffield Wednesday in the premier league for obvious reasons. Hopefully Derby can finally make it.

If Sunderland win against everton midweek Newcastle are relegated! Feel for Rafa, shouldn't have gone there in the first place.

West Ham can still make that top4 it's not over till it's over

In other news, I hope we absolutely batter Chelsea on Wednesday I know it doesn't matter as far as the league is concerned, but I really really love beating them (especially when Mourinho was in charge) (im not picky, either a nice demolition or jammy 1-0 win in the 95th min - basically any win would do:p).

Anyone seen john Terry's (probably) last game for Chelsea, pure comedy. :p

Can't believe the top 4 destiny is in our hands.
Because of this? I would probably act the same.
Edit: I meant I would feel the same as you, not act the same as Mou.

Why are ya doing this? :p

I'll never forget the second one, never.
Good manager but **** of the highest order.

He's still bitter abar the 2005 & the 2007 semis at Anfield. I bet he's still crying over Garcias ghost goal :p

Edit:ah fair enough tbh I didn't even see that comment ,yeah I think anyone would be pretty pissed off

I really thought someone will invade the pitch and punch him in the face for that. Can't remember a more defensive performance than that, Di Matteo's Chelsea and Simeone's Atletico aren't even close. Bragging after that game was totally unnecessary from him. The slip from Stevie and that choke vs Crystal Palace played just as a big role, so I guess there is no excuse for not winning the title.

Kloppo could summon a title challenge next season, watch out.

They are two titles behind, and with us being stuck in Van Gaal's "philosophy" atm, I could tolerate that happening. :) But now it's all just about beating West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace and save the season.

Spot on, it really was embarrassing from Chelsea. Wasting time from the first second, confronting the ref every two minutes, celebrating a pointless win like they just won the World Cup, ridiculous all around. A friend sent me the Mourinho celebration the day after the match, didn't see any of his antics during the game, and of course as you said after the palace "loss" I wanted to disappear off the face of the earth.

Imo Hendersons red card against City played a huge role in our capitulation he was such an important part of our team. Anyway.

Fingers crossed on your last part!

Those times when I was sure of a match win are long gone. This season smaller teams were causing bigger trouble than big rivals. In other words, they should watch out for Bournemouth.

IIRC Mourinho suffered his first ever EPL loss at Stamford Bridge in the next match and the ref was the problem :D, against relegation threatened Sunderland. That escape is a bit too much overshadowed by the one Leicester pulled off a season later IMO.

I think it was the game before the one at anfield. Borini scored the winner with a penalty, ending Chelsea's title hopes. That's why Mourinho played "a second string side" against us, plus the game was sandwiched between the Atletico semis, some consolation seeing them fail yet again in that round.

My bad, you are right. I checked their schedule, the Sunderland game happened before. I knew Chelsea suffered some disappointment after that game vs Liverpool. It was Atletico who outplayed them at the Bridge.

Any update on the final tickets?

They will forget the meaning of the word competition while playing the Bundesliga, and it will be no surprise when someone teaches them a lesson in the Champions League again.

If the supposed England squad leak is correct and Shaw/Wilshere make it while Rose/Walker don't Woy should be sacked immediately!

Same if he starts with Rooney up top.

    Hey! :p

Maybe he gets a midfield role, looks likely that he will play there more and more in the future, and he isn't bad at it.

Hoping Vardy and Kane can make it work for you.

Nothing against Rooney mate, but if he starts ahead of Vardy/Kane/Sturridge it would be quite frankly a disgrace. I'd rather he plays as a #10 behind the striker(s) or even better starts as an option from the bench.

I don't expect anything other then the usual, maybe making the QFs and going out on penalties. I'm more worried about any potential injuries to Liverpool players if I'm honest :p hopefully Hodgson will be gone by the end of the summer, and I'll start (sort of) enjoying watching us play again:p

An injury at the Euros has to be serious one in order for clubs to be harmed by them.

We shall see how will your football wizard owl genius assemble the squad. :D Semi seems realistic. Stinks how there is no bronze medal match in that competition.

Correct but they'd still miss (part of) the pre season. I remember most recently Lallana got injured days after the World Cup and he was out for nearly two months.

haha moyesy level of genius you know;) tbh I don't mind that, I mean I can't think of any other competition other then the World Cup that does have a third place "final"? On the other hand it's another football game during the summer boringness (post Wimbledon) so I guess you're right. ;)

Yeah, Dier and Alli in there is the way to go (as long as they don't become liabilities with the reckless challenges).

Can't believe Roy wouldn't take Walker and Rose, they're probably the two best starting full backs in the country at the moment! (Again, as long as they keep their heads).

All other football competitions for national teams have a bronze medal match. World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations, Copa America, Football at the Asian Games, even the CONCACAF Gold Cup (North America) have installed that one during the last event. Euros are the only exception.

Do the Euros and Wimbledon times collide btw? Since I am not into these Euros I have no idea when will they be played.

Agreed especially Alli should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Wouldn't put it past him so we should just wait for the official confirmation lol imo Clyne is England's best right back at the moment and I'm not saying that because he's a Liverpool player, he's been amazingly consistent, can't remember ONE bad game from him,he's always a 6/7 out of 10.

Ah fair enough mate, didn't know probably because I don't watch them :p

According to Google Euro dates 10 June- 10 July
    Wimbledon: 24 June - 10 July

What do you mean you're not into it? Don't watch?

Imagine England winning Euros and Andy winning Wimbledon. 10th of July would become a national holiday in the future. :D

I am not very interested in these Euros. Norway and Serbia haven't qualified. Germany and France are two biggest favorites to win, and I don't like them at all. England and Spain who I prefer aren't standing too good atm. The Dutch who I also sympathize a bit aren't even at the tournament. Simply from my point of view there isn't much to see.

Wimbledon is a different story though. ;)

What Leicester did won't happen again anytime soon. I hope people aren't expecting some new fairytales in English or other leagues to happen immediately next season.

Part of me keeps wanting Portugal (or more precisely Ronaldo) to win Euros. They had such a heartbreak in their own backyard back in 2004, plus I like seeing an all-time great in club football pushing the national team full of players that are way below his level. Now that you mentioned Wales, I could also support Bale for that reason.

West Ham fans caused a 45 minute kick-off delay by smashing our bus.

Lets close their Boleyn Ground by smashing it once again, just like in the cup. Go Red Devils!

Considering how long you have been waiting, a fairytale is actually a good word for that. ;)

l've never really understood West Ham fans. The way they abused Lampard when he played for them, said he was fat, only played because of his Dad and uncle etc.. So he leaves, proves them wrong and becomes one of the best players in the world.. so they hate him for that too? They're a strange lot.

Crucial game of the season, but the players are running there like headless chicken and Van Gaal has his ass glued to the chair.

I swear Man United would find a way to screw things up against Bournemouth even if Swansea do beat City. Painfully laughing at how crap we are.
