haha soz you know I can't say that :p but fair play to you (though maybe you're trying to jinx us dunno:confused:). Mind you if it was a Murray Djokovic final in Shangai I would have said good luck and may the best man win etc. like I always do but football is different. :p

As for the defence, exactly that Vardy goal also Hull game they scored with their only shot all game. I've got to admit though we're still looking very much suspect defending set pieces if the Swansea match is anything to go by so fully expect Mourinho to try exploit that on Monday. I see in the media everyone wants him to start Rooney, wouldn't mind that myself. ;)

I would never expect a good luck from the @TheMuzziah . We are enemies and the match is war. Typical football hooligan attitude. :p

Chelsea looking good. Will win premier league.

  3. I am honestly being nice. :) Easy for you to say if it was a Murray Djokovic final when Murray is the only one to reach it.;)

Don't mind much who will play, would just like us to get those points and get back into the mix with other big teams quickly. Be careful what you wish for, great players in poor form can be dangerous, you don't know when are they going to wake up. Rooney has scored the winner in the upcoming fixture last season so don't be too confident if he does play. ;)

Probably be over around Christmas time. My guess is Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp and Wenger will be seen on the Stamford Bridge pitch at half time on Boxing Day, all waving white flags screaming "please make it stop, we're not worthy to be on the same pitch, take the title now". Obviously we'll gladly accept (on the condition Hazard gives City a penalty masterclass, even I'm starting to feel sorry for them).

Sounds about right I think :p

Yeah no doubt that helps, but does kind of seem reasonable to give other countries a chance to showcase it if they have the infrastructure do do so. Don't think it necessarily means it can't be a good tournament, although obviously a desert like Qatar is pretty stupid. That was one problem with Brazil of course, using public money to pay for developments and all that stuff, remember the people being pretty bloody pissed off. Although the football was great.

Both looked like penalties to me as I recall. What do you want the referee to do? Not give them because they've had a lot?

Why would you wish good luck to your opponents? It's not a hooligan attitude. It's disingenuous to say otherwise. If I'm watching sport, I don't want my opposing team or player to have loads of good luck, I don't wish injury or serious harm on them but why would I want them to get lucky or play really well, only if I was sure my player/team would win. The best I could say is enjoy the game, but not too much.

  6. The 2nd one looked harsh to me, the one on Aguero (surprise surprise), though I guess it was fair they didn't convert. The one they got against Stoke away didn't look like a penalty either, stupid decision. Didn't see the ones in other games. They also should have conceded a penalty in the Manchester derby but didn't.

I want people to pay more attention to how other clubs get treated. Instead of for example bashing FA and Taylor before the upcoming derby has even started, maybe it would be useful to look that teams like City are getting a bit of protection so far. I am not suggesting they wouldn't have won without those penalties but their work becomes so much easier and that stinks.

    Yeah, I was joking. Thanks.

I just had this thought put into my head that City are going to win every match. Of course, that is not possible. Now those 2 wins have got you back into contention.

This will just be pointing out the obvious to some, but Stevie G is the GOAT Liverpool and United player from the premier league. According to a recent vote of the top 50 on sky sports. Luis Suarez is runner up. Ronnie in third.

    Cantona is 7th.

Two absolute stonewallers in my view, Jagielka lunging like a moron on both. Can't speak about other penalties as I don't remember but when teams are very attacking and put that much pressure on a defence, inevitably they get more penalties because the ball is in the opposition box more. The Manc derby one, I dunno think he got the ball didn't he, although kinda from behind. Can go either way.

Big sides always get more big decisions, God knows Man Utd have got plenty of that over the years. Especially Man Utd, but all the big sides get more decisions than the lesser sides, it's the way it's always been. Doesn't make it right, but that is the way it is. But you mention how clubs get treated, how about one club where a referee who is born near and locally living in Mike Dean, doesn't referee their matches, while another one born probably even closer, gets to referee as many matches as he likes. Maybe he is impartial, maybe he isn't but it's a stupid appointment either way. The amount of pressure on him already (which is inevitable when you have a referee born 6 miles away from one of the club's ground) means every decision he makes will be under so much scrutiny.

Ah makes sense that it's Premier League. Was wondering where people like George Best and Kenny Dalglish were.

Sounds about right though at least Gerrard at the top. Some of the other choices less good, but can't really expect that much from a skysports poll.

Happy enough with a point. Had the best of the first half, but Liverpool had the better second half. I definitely felt the nervous tension at the end. Liverpool looked more threatening.

  12. I wanted all three but considering nobody is consistent a point is ok too. 5 points between 1st Man City and 7th Man United, very open.

De Gea adds another beauty in his collection of saves.

Taylor did just fine as I expected.

Well that was pretty dull. Inevitable after that much build up that the match ends that way. Classic Mourinho, should've learned that you can't expect a good match where Mourinho's concerned when he's playing a good team.

Still could be worse, poor performance but still got a point, could've won it, we move on.

Did you forget who your manager is? This is Mourinho's bread and butter. Depends how **** he thinks Chelsea are regarding whether it'll be the same

Yeah did ok apart from forgetting he had any yellow cards. One or two players a little lucky.

Technically speaking it's a penalty as well when Can went through and got the shot, defender had a big handful of his shirt, what with new enforcement of rules and all that this season then it should be one. Pretty hard for the referee to see that where he was though can't be blamed.

DIdn't do too badly overall though, probably being under the microscope so much before the game helped in reality, was able to curb his natural instinct to favour Man United most of the time. Still a stupid choice though, those type of selections are asking for trouble, regardless of affiliation.

Learn to play the United way..

I think they might need to change those advertising signs around the pitch at Old Trafford. Can't imagine they'll be getting many takers these days

  16. Don't blame Mourinho for not getting a result you wanted, Liverpool weren't shining yesterday either. It wasn't like that game when he beat you 3 seasons ago at Anfield when you were fighting for the title. That one was extremely ugly.

Yeah I saw the shirt pulling, extremely risky from Smalling.

haha yeah, I was happy with the point because we had like 4 or 5 touches in the Liverpool box, compared to the clear opportunities that De Gea had to save. I kept hearing how dodgy the Liverpool keeper is, but didn't make a difference since we never really tested him.

Pogba does make a joke of the worlds most expensive player tag every time he plays. Can't deny that. Yeah, yeah, Rome not built in a day. I just hope he contributes something before the season is done. :p

Yeah I agree, Liverpool were poor. A number of reasons for that, Mourinho's negative tactics being one so fair play. Obviously Gini and Lallana being out was a blow, no coincidence our best spell was when Lallana got on the pitch. Not too dissimilar to that game the other against Chelsea to be honest, a bit better but very clearly from the Mourinho school of football. A legitimate way to play of course but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Should've scored though, that Ibrahimovic chance was golden. But a point away against a good team is never that bad a result though is it. A point at home against a good team not so good.

Noticed your signature - Wire is a pretty amazing show though, not seen all of it but it is great. Nothing beats the Sopranos though. When James Gandolfini died it felt like someone I know had died.

****ing Mourinho...Taylor had a shocker with the bookings some of their players should have been sent off twice, absolute joke. Missed Lallana more then anything like Slice n Dice said started playing much better since he came in, Sturridge really poor. Of course De Gea with his typical superman performance against us, how the **** did he save that Coutinho shot?? Not happy with the result (of course United are, I mean I honestly can't remember them threatening Karius all game, yeah that Ibrahimovic header but from where I was in the ground you could tell it was never going in). Atmosphere was pretty terrible for a Liverpool United game after the first 10 minutes, but don't blame the fans too much I mean with the Maureen anti football ****e you've hardly got anything to cheer for. Still not even close to the EL match last season. but yeah we move on, hopefully get a win against poor mans Man United next week.

Oh and burn the ****ing half and half scarves. And those who buy them...

The United way. They still going on about that rubbish? lol. Embarrassing.

I can't tell you exactly who coz I haven't watched the replay (and I'm not sure if I will tbh) but up until the end of the first half it seemed like Taylor forgot his cards to the dressing room...

  22. He still gave none to Liverpool's and none to 4 to United's players which seemed fair to me, some of the players were too aggressive.

So Leicester are the only team from groups E, F, G, H to win all three opening games.

Are they planning to qualify for the next Champions League by winning this one? :)

Well a several of them should've been booked a lot earlier Ibrahimovic one that springs out but there's a few others. So if they had been booked earlier could've arguably got a second yellow for all the other fouls that followed, although of course you can't necessarily say it would follow the same pattern.

Ha ha, well good luck to them they'll need it. Only decent team they've played so far though, is Porto. A really easy group to be honest, Copenhagen and Club Brugge not exactly big scalps. I'd expect Sunderland to beat those two if they played. They've qualify of course which is great but I can't see them getting much further, Would need a very kind draw to get to the quarter finals even as group winners. Certainly no further than that.

Well it's not like Leicester are regular CL participants themselves despite being the reigning champions of England, who knows when will they get a chance to play this competition again. Getting past any group should be considered a good achievement for them IMO.

Aren't Sunderland rock bottom in the Premier League? It's better for them not to clash with anyone in the Champions League.

I saw the line from my sig on the Sopranos reddit. It appeals to my sense of humor. Glad I found that place because there was nowhere else to talk about it.

I've watched the Wire before. Awesome show, but like you say, nothing beats the Sopranos.

I think they're concentrating their efforts on the CL this season. Winning the EPL last season was more than the club and supporters could ever have hoped for realistically so it's unlikely Ranieri and players are under any pressure/expectation to win it again (they won't). As you say the CL is new for them so they'll enjoy it and play with all the passion they have however far they end up.

City playing ok and Barcelona not looking so hot. Then the magic happens.

Messi with the ball glued to his feet.

    Bravo lol.

Atletico win a 3rd consecutive CL game 1-0.

Didn't go to Camp Nou in a while, safe to say I timed it well by ending the drought tonight. :) Convincing performance.

    Sorry Pep. :p

Messi so far with 12 goals in 10 games this season. Probably will surrender the Ballon d'Or to Cristiano, but it looks like Leo will have a better season than the last one.

Feels bad not being able to be part of those, for awhile at least.

For the first time in 7 seasons, it's neither Messi or Ronaldo who won the European Golden Shoe. It does stay in La Liga however as Luis Suarez's 40 goals in 35 league games helped Barcelona defend the league title in 2015-16. That's his second award after the one in 2013-14 which he shared with Ronaldo.

No absolutely it's incredible for them and good luck to them, they will want to make the absolute best of it and if I was a Leicester fan I would be quite happy to just stay up and give everything for the Champions League because as you say, when will they ever be there again? Almost through to the last 16, highly doubt they'll get any further but from bottom of the League to Premier League Champions last 16 in the Champions League in a year and a half is astonishing.

Yeah of course, just the point that it is a very kind group they have and therefore not really surprising they are making pretty short work of it.

  35. Mata and Carrick showing class is permanent. Looks like game over already.

Glad to see the first Manchester Pogbomb tonight.

    RVP, the whole ****in' show.

Nice win tonight. I expect us to play the Manchester United way on Sunday, maybe 8 at the back instead of 7.

Really happy for Pogba. Yeah, it was against Fenerbahce, but confidence breeds and all that. Not that he ever looks short of confidence.

    VAMOS!

Last minute penalty wins us the game against Valencia away.

Their disgusting fans throwing stuff at Barca players again.

  40. It wasn't easy stepping up against a goalkeeper who saved an extraordinary 19 out of previous 41 penalties he faced. Well done Messi.

Never saw him so fired up against the crowd but they sure were asking for it, first threw a lighter a couple of years back and now a bottle.

    Dancing is right :p

Not sure how the second half will turn out, but loving it so far!

Man Utd have been as awful as Chelsea were against Arsenal a few weeks back.

I guess it's an easier schedule coming up for Man United. They played Liverpool, Chelsea and City. Less margin for error for them though as they are the ones playing catch up.
