I think it's a shame. Man Utd deserve better than that.

It also shows he hasn't changed and things will likely end in the same fireworks and rebuilding, which would be a disaster for them 3 managers on from Ferguson.

Gerrard all day long. Lampard better goal scorer and brought new meaning to the term of goal scoring midfielder and was of course a great player in his own right, but Gerrard could literally do it all though. Greatest Midfielder of the Premier League era.

It's not even a debate for me. Lampard wins on stats (goals and assists), silverware (of which he scored big goals to win), came 2nd in the Ballon D'or and he played, matched and often bested arguably the greatest midfield of all time regularly (Xavi and Iniesta). They used to play twice a year during their peak and he was the only one who matched them at the time.

Scholes is worthy of debate though.

I said after the first goal, it was like a competitive Dad playing with his 5 year old in the garden. Bellerin was tossed around like a rag doll, Coquelin was flying around like an extra off Saving Private Ryan.

Should Alonso's goal have stood? He had his eye on the ball but absolutely floored Bellerin with his arm getting to it.

  10. Don't know if Arsenal were poor or if Chelsea were simply too good but that was an easier win for the Blues than I expected.
Whoever you choose, he is a good runner-up to Scholes. :p

Once again several top teams have lost and Man United won't accept those gifts. Could have been comfortably in the top 4 by now. Oh well, not watching will save me some nerves I guess. :D

    Both.

I am looking forward to the game when City visit
Chelsea. Won't be a title decider but still I am interested in that one. Man City could have easily won the first meeting if they weren't so wasteful and that was one of the crucial games in Chelsea's title run.

    Not that debate again. :p

Meanwhile Aubameyang has reached triple digits of goals for Borussia Dortmund. Well done Auba. :)

Nice end to the first half from the Reds of Manchester.

  21. Feels good not to draw again. Pity City got that injury time goal but finally the top spots aren't 4+ points away.

Alexis and Costa have some company in the race for golden boot. Welcome, Grandpahimovic.

Cameroon have won the Africa Cup of Nations, coming back from behind to beat Egypt 2-1 in the final.

Great late goal to win the trophy.

Burkina Faso won the bronze, beating Ghana 1-0. Also a great late winning goal.

Barca defending the 1-1 scoreline at Camp Nou LMAO.

And now they are down to 9 men against 10, Suarez will miss the final if they hang on. #Meltdown

    5 minutes stoppage time.

They have done it. 4th consecutive cup final for Barca, chance to win 3rd in a row.

One of the most satisfying home draws ever! We aren't used to defending and haven't been very good at it recently but still managed to go through.

Celta or Alaves in the final. Both have beaten Barcelona this season so the players better be careful.

I didn't get a chance to watch it. But when I saw that Barca were down to 9 men I was shocked

  28. Griezmann's goal shouldn't have been disallowed, the game should have gone to extra time.

Deportivo Alaves in the final, you can't screw this up now. Looks like Perez once again won't allow you to play the final at the Bernabeu. :p

Sam Allardyce calling emergency 7 am meetings after Palace felt the Moyes. Too bad, but imagine having to be in work at 12 am, 1-5 am like some of us normal people.

Just been looking at the bottom of the table and looks like I was too early to assume that Sunderland will be going down. Anybody in the 15-20 range can still go down.

I hope Sunderland go down personally. They're always abysmal all season, then win a few games at the business end. The cycle then repeats.

Hoping the likes of Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Burnley stay up, they're the latest teams to come up and give it a real good go and be a credit to the league imo.

A dominant 6-0 away win over Alaves was overshadowed by a nasty injury of Alex Vidal. Dislocated ankle has ruled him out for the rest of the season. :(

With that win over Watford, Man United have now amassed 2000 EPL points, 203 more than their nearest follower and 245 more than second nearest. Also, one more win separates them from 600 in this competition.

Bring on the Champions League and more importantly Europa League.

Great match between Atletico Madrid and Celta. Beautiful goals, with Torres' overhead kick that reminded of his finest days standing out.

Good channel for football highlights by the way. Luckily I can speak English so there is also no problem if that kind of commentary shows up.

  34. Sergio Ramos made a 500th appearance for Real Madrid last weekend. Safe to say his transfer from Sevilla in 2005 was one of the best deals ever. Loads of red cards :D but also loads of great moments as well.

Meanwhile as I was browsing through football pages, I found this. The standings after the first round of the very first La Liga season. Very similar standings at the top today as well, while it's interesting seeing these old crests. Real Madrid went through the biggest changes there throughout the years probably.

God why do you like Real Madrid? I wouldn't support them even if the whole team was Serbian.

  37. That's cold. I would have shown a bit of support for Barcelona if you had a Norwegian or two.

Because of the usually fast game the club plays and because of all the great players that I witnessed. Legends like Raul, Hierro, Zidane, Guti, Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ramos. Other greats like Morientes, Figo, Beckham, Brazilian Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Alonso. Some of the recent or current players like Ozil, Di Maria, Bale, Kroos and Modric. I have been very entertained throughout the years by all of them.

Why do you hate Real Madrid so much?

I started watching football because of Barcelona so I never really liked Real Madrid. But when I saw how their fans were disrespectful to Casillas I lost the little respect I had. Plus I hate Ronaldo as a person. I don't like their current squad except for Modric and Marcelo. Perez is an idiot and something about the club is just arrogant.

    Here is hoping.

Also if we go through I really don't want us to draw Atletico Madrid. They are tough competitors that don't mind playing too aggressive.

PSG pressed well in the first 15 minutes. Barcelona have upped their level since then. PSG look dangerous on the counter though.

  49. Sweet 1st half. Long way to go though.
