The TT Football Club

That really sucked. Would have traded Man United's win over Watford and Zenit defending the volleyball Champions League today if it meant Barca avoiding that loss.

Big Saturday coming up. Give me a reason to get wasted in a good way, boys. :D
FA Cup final? I am definitely watching that one. Always even more interesting when both of the finalists are not doing very well prior to it. Probably a minor advantage to Manchester United but you guys have been a puzzle all season long.

Really? Nah I like Barca but I wouldn’t trade any Arsenal win for Barca to avoid that loss.

Maybe that’s because Arsenal don’t win a lot? Or maybe it’s because I don’t want anyone else joining the invincible club? ;):D
This was an irrelevant game for Man United. City got the records anyway while we couldn't go lower than 2nd. So basically I wouldn't be sacrificing much. :D If we had a bad away record and our manager was leaving after over 20 years, yeah I wouldn't trade the win myself.

Totally. We have had several good results against the strongest English opponents unlike previous season so there is a reason to be optimistic.

I just want us to end this so-so season on a high. Plus me and my mates have been planning a big Saturday night out on that date, and I want to pay all the rounds, drink a bit more and reward myself for this longer smoke break by ending it. :D

Hasn’t every United league match since November been irrelevant?:D

It really reflects poorly on the entire Premier League minus Manchester City when a dreadful Manchester United are 2nd best in the country.

Conclusion: NOT the best league in the world. :p

On the other hand, Chelsea have shown just as big contrasts. Really made a great impression the Champions League against us in my opinion, but in some of the Premier League games they were catastrophic.

Won't be bugging you or anything, but since I have been there myself, I suggest you keep that break going. :)

Would have been stupid not to mention this.

Michael Carrick played his final game and retired today. Class act and player throughout all 12 years and it will be great to have him in the coaching staff. With that, the last one of our 2008 diamonds is now gone. Time really flies. :(

Off topic, I have the exact same grey thing Jose wore today. Not exactly a tracksuit or a sweatshirt, what the hell is the name for that... The man with great style totally stole mine.:D

There are levels to everything. Mario, Tetris, trolling, dating. etc Is this the latest fad, levels. OK then.

Forgetting the triumphalistic nature of your bottom line. That is indeed a fine goalscoring record.
Come on man I’ve gotta be triumphalstic about something! Don’t want to be depressed all the time.:D

Auba should score 30+ goals next season at this rate, might just make all the difference for us.

Neymar wins Ligue 1 player of the season award despite featuring for just over half of it. :D Meanwhile a lot of talk about Griezmann to Barcelona continues. Not a good timing with Europa League final in two days.

Maybe he would have saved them from defeat last night... :p
They already have a world class player who can save them from the jaws of defeat, he’s being rested for a more important game though.

As I said I don't mind seeing different line-ups being rotated but the timing of it all was dreadful. Lack of rotation might have been the reason why we had that Champions League elimination, and who knows maybe the manager and others at the club had an unbeaten season in their minds a while ago. But then this kind of rotation was made so late in the season with nothing else to play for except that achievement and the finish line was so close. Huge opportunity for something special missed. Shame because they don't come often.

Neymar is clearly too good for that league, still surprised he went to PSG. Speaking of PSG, Thomas Tuchel is their new manager. The media keeps calling him a control freak, while Neymar is already linked to a move away from Paris. Who wants to bet nothing will change.

We got to 43 unbeaten games without him and mostly without Neymar. I would lie if I said I am not interested in the possibility of him joining however. Suarez can be wasteful, while Messi isn't 25 anymore. If he does sign, good luck to Valverde assembling Messi, Suarez, Griezmann, Dembele and Coutinho perfectly on the pitch.

Would you look at that, no Spaniards, one La Masia player and two French guys there.:rolleyes:

You’re a lot more cool about than I excepted, I couldn’t imagine how mad I would be if we ruined our chances of going invincible by resting Henry or Bergkamp for some friendly match.

Scenes if Neymar goes to Madrid...never liked the guy even when he was at Barca, leaving Barca for an oil club was bad enough but have a feeling that he’ll slither his way to Madrid like the snake he is.

I was way more mad after our elimination against Roma to be honest. In Spain we did the important thing, got the cake but missed out on the rare cherry.

His choice. If he couldn't handle not being the biggest star of the team despite being on great terms with Leo and Luis, I can't really protest on that. But he better not expect the same treatment from us anymore. Everything was set for him to be the leader in the next decade like guys like Cruyff, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho were before him and like Messi is now, that was the plan way back in 2011 when he was still in Santos, but he threw that away in favor of something else. Thanks for the contributions, it was really fun having such amazing talent here for a few years, but that's it, goodbye.

Yeah it’s a real shame, he’s a great player and I have no idea why he would leave Barca for PSG, yeah he gets more money but he would still be filthy rich either way so why leave one of the great clubs in football for a little extra cash? So greedy and unambitious.

Fulham came back from a 1st leg deficit against Derby and are going to Wembley. My men Mitrovic and manager Jokanovic better own that place too so we can have them in Premier League.

Funny, I just remembered that when I was in Barcelona on a school trip back in 2015, I bought a Neymar jersey for my mom, one of his biggest fans. Safe to say the jersey now doesn't look as nice as it did back then. :D

I went to Barcelona back in 2011 to watch us play them, they beat us 3-1 and we got a totally undeserved red card and I was fuming still good memories though, only time I’ve been to Spain and it was great.

I felt bad about it but I just had to buy a Messi shirt so I did! Got a few weird looks from gooners though but it had to be done. :D

Hopefully neither one of you got mugged.

Get over it paranoid, Arsenal got outplayed throughout the whole game. ;)
Arsenal were mugged by the ref but I was fine. :( In all seriousness my mom was really paranoid (you’re damn right that pun is intended) of me and my friend going to Barcelona because muggings are very common there, instead i got nothing but banter and laughs from the people in Barcelona I met, no muggings except in the game.:D

Sure Barca played better but you can’t tell me that that harsh red card didn’t impact the game? Could’ve made all the difference but Barca were the by far the best team in the world and deserved to win that year but that won’t stop me from being salty.:D

I am sure it was all innocent, those banters and laughs. Apart from the game result I hope you managed to have a good Barcelona experience during your time here. :)

Yes, though Van Persie was still really lacking discipline in those years, it might have had an impact. Just like Leo's wrongly disallowed goal could have killed off the tie in London already. In the end I was kind of glad the way it all turned out as that game at Emirates was easily one of the most enjoyable ones I have watched in modern times.

Roberto Mancini is the new manager of Italy. This guy is definitely getting some nice jobs despite relative lack of success since the Premier League title six years ago. Maybe his fantastic reputation as a player helps. ;)

I think Allegri still has a contract with Juventus and won't leave before it ends.

I’ve heard that Allegri was negotiating in London, hope that’s true..

Arteta or Vieira just wouldn’t be good enough, we need a top European manager who has a winning mentality.

Maybe you could go the other way too. Not a coach who proved himself on the biggest stages yet but someone who knows how the club functions, the way football is played there. Even in some of the more recent years when you didn't win the Premier League, there was still some very attractive, attack minded football. I still consider Arsenal capable of producing that.

That's the move Barcelona has done several times. Former players later becoming club managers and keeping our brand of football alive throughout generations. But obviously the last decade or so at Arsenal hasn't been as successful as the one before that so wanting a top manager with instant results is totally understandable and wouldn't be a bad move.

I imagine the Arsenal manager job interview went like this:

Gazidis: “So Max, what can you do for us?”
Allegri: “I can do lots but this squad is a fckin mess, give me $200 million and I’ll fix it right up, I’ll have Arsenal back where it should be.”
Gazidis: “hmm..how about $50 million? Remember you have world class players like Welbeck and Iwobi at your disposal.”
Allegri: “.....I can’t help insanity, ciao.”

Gazidis: “So Mikel, what can you do for us?”
Arteta: “plenty, this is a fine squad but I noticed that Ozil’s wage bill is too high have you thought about selling him?”
Gazidis: “oh my! I love the way you think Mikel! How do you feel about a $50 million budget and working with Iwobi and Welbeck?”
Arteta: “sounds perfect to me.”
Gazidis: “you’re hired! Welcome to Arsenal!”

Fulham and Aston Villa to play at Wembley for Premier League promotion.

These playoffs in lower divisions are all about money, there is no doubt about it. Feels so wrong that a 3rd best can might miss out on promotion while 6th still has a chance, especially since the 3rd worst in higher division is automatically relegated. Germans clearly have it sorted out well, 3rd worst from erste Bundesliga playing 3rd best from zweite Bundesliga over two legs, end of story.

Speaking of lower divisions, I really hope Huesca hold on to the top two spots in Segunda as that would mean next season they will participate in La Liga for the first time. Our playoffs have two legs in both semifinals and finals, and if the result and number of away goals is still tied after normal time and extra time of the second leg, there are no penalties, instead the team who finished higher in the league will advance. Unusual rule but not a bad way to reward someone who has done better over the whole season.

Barcelona's defense was exceptional until April. Might even say the best in Europe. But it went downhill from there fast. Even conceded to Sundowns today.

It is a great pleasure for me *wink* to report a 3-1 win in a friendly over Mamelodi Sundowns. Dembele, Suarez and Gomes scoring the goals. 12 man bench, the entire line-up was changed at halftime, with Messi entering the field with 15 minutes to go. It was almost comical watching my bro and sis getting more angry with each one of our goals and Messi's introduction, :D clearly the loss during the weekend is still fresh. Turns out that genuine downplaying our chances worked well for my peace, though others are considering me crazy. :p
Can Marseille upset the favorites tonight?

Rooting for Atletico mostly because Torres is leaving at the end of the season, and he hasn't won a trophy with his boyhood club yet.

Griezmann's final audition for Barcelona, Tiki? ;)
I will support them for Torres as well but I usually do that for La Liga clubs in Europe anyway.

Whatever happens I don't see it that way. Atletico are definitely not what some call a feeder club. They have a chance to keep Griezmann as they have ok resources and also contend for trophies. Only because of incredible lack of luck are they not Champions League winners in one of the past few seasons. Whatever he decides this summer, I wish him good luck. He is a quality, intelligent striker that would fit in anywhere.

Wait so Messi was rested on an important league game to play a friendly but it turns out he barely played at all?

Yeah...the people in charge of your club have some questions to answer..o_O

I could see AM keeping Griezmann if they win tonight. A lot of noise about him leaving to Barcelona. Then you think of the previous defeats. To actually win this time. It might not be champions league, but still better than nothing at all or another runner up medal.

Define important. ;) Considering Barcelona didn't lose to Levante in over 50 years prior to that game, even with their good form, I wasn't surprised by the decisions. He only missed one La Liga game prior to that which only happened because his son was born. Would be smart to give him a break occasionally like Real do with Ronaldo, though I certainly hope it won't be in a scenario where we are 15+ points behind in the league but still competing in Europe, like it happens with them almost regularly. o_O

We are champions of Spain. I can't and don't want to get myself in the mood to moan about anything now.
