God I hope so, Bayern have done absolute **** all this tournament.
Yeah that was the worst offside decision of the year against Fiorentina and they got pretty lucky against United as well. Lyon have been extremely solid at home the entire competition, even moreso than United were so I expect them to go through. Less of Ribery's face is good for all concerned as well.

I think Milner is a possibility for Man Utd, yeah. The only problem is that Man City also seem to be interested and they would be willing to pay pretty much anything, i'm not sure if Man Utd will be able to match it.

Ribery looks like he will go to Real Madrid (if he isn't in jail), whilst Aguero looks likely to go to Chelsea. He's come out in the press a couple of times since January and that looks like the move he wants, it's just a question of whether he will back down on his demand of £200,000 a week or not.
Milner would be far too expensive for what he's really worth, rumours have the bidding at £25m or so which is crazy. A new winger will be needed though since Bellamy and Petrov are supposedly leaving and I have no idea what Robinho's going to end up doing in the summer.

Yes he is expensive at that price. If Man Utd go in for a player though, the only real option you have is to make him and his club a monetary offer they can't refuse.

I wish Sergio would come to Chelsea as well! However, I hear he might be making a move to Inter, that's what all the Spanish papers are going on about these days. He'd fit their offense system a lot better than he'd Chelsea's, and if I was Ancelotti and in search of a striker, I'd be looking to sign a few younger strikers (Either Bafetimbi Gomis of Lyon or that Belgian kid at Anderlecht who looks like Drogs).

Yeah the Anderlecht kid looks great, his idol is Drogba so the thought of learning from him at Chelsea could be a factor when he eventually decides to leave Belgium.

As for Aguero, I think we would of got him in January if it wasn't for the crazy wage demands. Everything was in place and the transfer fee was agreed on, hopefully in the summer he will realise £10m in wages a year is just too much.

There's no doubt we need another striker, Anelka and Drogba are fantastic but they aren't getting any younger. The options at the moment look like being Villa, Aguero and Pato. Pato always seems to be injured, Villa is great but probably not young enough to make it worth the huge investment so that leaves Aguero.

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/170335/Sergio-Aguero-I-want-Chelsea

There he talks about how he admires Drogba and Lampard, would love to raise his young family in London, and thinks the Premier League is the place to be, not Italy.

Like most things I suppose it just comes down to the money.

Three (!) last second goals against the scum this year, surely this is the first time in history such embarassment has happened. SWP since Hughes left has been a huge liability and for some reason decided that a 5 yard pass was too much of a hassle and only attempted insane 30 yard solo runs past Evra or shot from 35 yards out which he's never scored from in his career. I along with everyone else were holding our collective heads in our hands as he lost it yet again at 92:15, setting up the inevitable .

The race for 4th is still open since Spuds still have to come to Eastlands and we have Villa at Eastlands as well. It'll surely come down the Spuds/City match in a few weeks to decide it.

I don't think Chelsea will lose or draw any of their remaining fixtures as only Liverpool are capable and since they'll likely be out of the 4th race by then they will lack motivation compared to a fired up Chelsea side.

I'm looking forward for City to complete the double over the Arse next week, Ad****or brace to seal it.

Haha, you're a funny guy. City never win at Arsenal, just doesn't happen. Your midfield is just too pedestrian and slow, the likes of Nasri and Diaby will have an easy time pulling off Gareth Average Barry. Only thing im worried about his Tevez and Bellamy running at Sol and Silvestre who are OAP's.

I think so as well. Lyon is a much stronger team at home. I want to see Lyon take it this year, but if Inter keeps playing like this, I don't think it will happen.
Hi there Storm!

Still wielding the Bab and remaining loyal to the Alliance, I trust?!:)

Re the latter comment though, Barca really aren't out of this yet you know??? Offensively they have the ability, especially at home, to absolutely run amok and cause havoc to an opposing defense (exhibit A: Arsenal's back 4 in their last match with Barca!) If Inter can keep it level (or do better) by half-time, I reckon it's theirs; but give a goal away and... well, "Mystic Ross" predicts a Barca victory (and don't forget that away goal they have?)...

I think Inter takes it. Barca are an excellent all around squad but for them to play like they did against the Gooners means Messi can't go missing like he did against Inter.

I'm not a Mourinho fan but his tactics were impressive and I actually found myself rooting for them. With my Gooners knocked out, I can just enjoy the football as a neutral ;)

OMG!... are you originally a Brit or something?!

You sound like you might know a thing or two about our beloved game?!... and you seem to be a gooner too? ...

Hal, it's not too late to change your allegiance to a English team that actually originates from north London, was playing probably the most entertaining and dynamic football in Europe in the early sixties, and actually features a lot of British players, unlike Arsenal, who as everyone knows doesn't even employ English toilet cleaners let alone football players!

^^LOL. I got hooked 11 years ago on a visit to london. The 1st match I saw live was the Hammers featuring a 17 yo Joe Cole, Lampard, Rio and DiCanio. American football has always seemed quite dull since ;)

I've always loved the Arsenal style of play but I would like to see some trophies, I believe this year would be a different story if Van Persie hadn't been hurt-just think about the last 10 minutes against Spurs last week.

I've actually been to quite a few games at the Lane over the years and the only thing I didn't care for was the long walk from the tube.

Err well this City side is a bit better than the ones of the past 30 years Cesc :). I'm assuming we'll play counter attack just like against Chelsea which should be able to work. De Jong will make up for Barry's pace in the middle, and Tevez/Ade/Bellamy/Johnson will be able to cause a few problems I'm sure.

Wow, that's amazing about your experiences in London... some great players there... DeCanio, although a bit of a loon (and near-fascist apparently  ) was a marvellous player... and re America football, though I can appreciate it, I think just because I didn't grow up with it, it seems a bit too alien to me.

Being a life-long Spurs fan, I'll say the only thing I didn't care for was the decades of having such an inconsistent, unsuccessful and pretty crappy team !!!:lol:

R.

BTW, off topic... I'm starting to really like the MG Prest mid!...

Dicanio was total freak show but was fun to watch.

As for today, all I can say is come on you Spurs.! I'm pulling for anyone but ManU ;)

The Mid is a great stick, and I'm loving my YT Prestige Pro, 344g strung, 32.3cm balance: def an improvement over the MG version that I used for a year. My opinion on the RP ended up mirroring yours: just too head heavy in the end.

Even with the positive changes that Harry made, you could just see the momentum shift in the last 15 minutes or so. I just wish Spurs had played against the gunners like that.

Full marks to Fergie though, his boys always have that hunger and desire to go for the throat: I was surprised at how well they did without Rooney TBH.

Beautiful little disappearing act by Bale for Man Utd's second. He should probably get a job as a lollipop lady, the way he shepherded Nani through the traffic was textbook!

So for your first game you take in a match with the Genius that was Cole, Lamps, the Mighty Rio and Mercurial PDC (if only we could of had the legend that was Julian at left back ) and after that you think it's ok to talk about the gooners, shocking.
On a much more positive note 3 points today makes us almost safe this year!

Congrats on staying up! To use the biggest footballing cliche of the lot - you must be totally over the moon!:) ... though the awkward qsn that perhaps needs addressing once the hoopla dies down is of course... Zola?... stick with him or not?

BTW, on a side-note - nice to see Scott Parker score the last goal and celebrate as if he had won the World Cup for England!... as it goes, he's a player I've rated very highly over the years and have always been slightly mystified why he didn't get greater recognition???

He's a good player, in my opinion he's not really top 4 quality. I'd certainly put him up there in the next tier, though.

I agree with you and wonder how much better it would have turned out for both Parker and Charlton if he'd never left for Chelsea when Ranieri came calling.

Hopefully the PFA Player of the Year award Drogba should be getting tonight will spur him onto a huge effort against Liverpool next week.

I've always figured he doesn't get more recognition as he's unlucky enough to of been in a generation that has so many great English central midfielders, Scholes, Lampard,Carrick,Cole, that bloke who's liverpool captain is ok at a push too.
How for example carlton cole gets a mention in the squa for the world cup when if you saw last nights highlights you would of had an idea of his overall skills and PArker doesn't when he has single handedly dragged the team about i don't know.As for Upson, i really wish we'd sold him this year and kept James Collins instead of letting him go to Villa, he wa salways so good and has had another decent eason as apposed to the guy who doesnt want another contract and only has a year left...sorry rant over!
So, Parker and Zamora for England
