Academy player Adil Aouchiche scored a hattrick vs Sweden in the U17 Euro. He scored the equalizer vs England days earlier and today scored vs Netherlands

Do you guys have any favorite talent from your club's academy?

Ole has been saying ''what he has been told to say.'' Nah, I'm gonna be nice. Talking about the signings. Going to follow the Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo model.

My friend swears by James Garner. Makes me think of the actor. haha. No, he still has Man Utd channel and sees more of them than I have. I really couldn't tell you much about our youngsters.

Chong seems to be the one with most hype about him. Hoping to see a few of them against Cardiff.

Bit of a detour after another thread mentioned accents. Probably mentioned it before, you probably talked about it here long before I joined.

Steve McClaren goes Dutch. I think this tune is hilarious. :p

The boys have come to face the music for the first time since the fiasco. They got what they probably deserved. Half empty Camp Nou and pre-match boos. I didn't contribute to the empty seats or the boos, because even though they are the biggest European failures in recent memory (relative to the club ambitions), they are my failures, and I still love and support them very much. But I do understand those who took the loss even worse and reacted the way they did. We should be having one eye on Copa final and the other on Champions League final. But that's not the case. Now we have all eyes on Copa del Rey in Sevilla, which even though we all want to win, it doesn't compare to the potential of becoming champions of Europe in Madrid. Very sad...

2-0 win over Getafe, and with that result Valencia are actually 4th now going into the final day, on superior head to head. Great turnaround for them this season, as they were struggling for wins in the first few months. Regarding our players today, it's Vidal and Messi, the only two guys who can hold their heads high after the semifinal tie, who produced the goals today. Controlled the game comfortably, not much to talk about, and I wasn't even paying full attention at times. Midweek result still hurts.

...

Congratulations to Manchester City on retaining the title.

Last season, some people said that it was easy for them to win so often because there was nobody putting pressure on them after few months of the season. Can't say I agree with that in the first place, as you don't rarely see convincing champions dropping points once they sealed it. But anyway, this time, they had to almost replicate last season's 100 points to be champions.

City finished the season with 14 consecutive league wins. They collected 54/57 points in the 2nd half of the season. Anything less than that, and they wouldn't be champions. But they handled that pressure amazingly, having not been behind in any of their last 14 wins except the one today, where they replied immediately. This level of focus that is required to win the title, especially when there is another quality team that is your equal in many things, is why I value domestic leagues so high. And that is why I will also rate my man Pep so high. I congratulate to him more than anyone else. Wherever the true City fans are now, I hope they are enjoying themselves. Because they will never have a better manager than now...

Vamos!

It's brilliant work from City. Liverpool pushed so hard then City went into Alien mode again and Manchester is blue. Have to be gutted if you're a Liverpool fan. It's one of those what more can you do situations. They still have big match to look forward to at least. City to do the domestic treble. Takes me back 1994 when we had the chance and lost to Aston Villa 3-1 in the Coca Cola cup final. Bosnich made some good saves that day.

Just beautiful

Sad for Getafe though
Makes me feel bad for misinforming people that Getafe will have Champions League football in their hands on the final day. :D I guess I didn't pay attention to Valencia at the time as they were below Sevilla as well.

I am fine either way. Would be historic season for Getafe, while seeing Valencia there reminds me of the good old days when they were regular in that competition, even making finals a couple of times, as well as fighting for La Liga. Big club.

Canizares crying his eyes out is one of those everlasting memories. Then Kahn and some other Bayern players came over to hug him. It was nice.

Ayala was another one of those beasts linked with United every year so at least some things never change.

Courtois is a strange one. He was great 4-5 years ago, then he was awful for the last two years at Chelsea. I just assumed it was because he wanted to move to Madrid, mind elsewhere etc.. Especially after he was good at the World Cup.

Turns out he was even worse for Madrid than he was for Chelsea! Looks like we've had a lucky escape with Kepa getting better all the time, he's up there with the very best already when it comes to shot stopping. He just needs to bulk up a bit so he can fight through traffic and get to crosses, maybe push forward a bit more (sweeper keeper style). He's one of the better keepers with his feet, but we haven't taken advantage of it enough, which is understandable in his first season.

I think the making of him was the League Cup final, personally. Everyone said he was wrong, should never play another game for the club etc.. Which was madness. A young keeper in his first season put his neck on the line to stay on, he wanted to be there when the pressure was at it's highest. I'd of been more concerned if he was happy to come off and handed the responsibility to someone else. Ever since then he's been exceptional.

I wouldn't go for Griezmann simply because of how last summer saga with him ended. But I can understand the board is getting frustrated and desperate. Who wouldn't be after two consecutive European chokes. No doubt that he would be a quality addition to the squad.

Matthijs De Ligt transfer is becoming more likely. Should both him and Antoine join, on top of Frenkie transfer already completed, expensive departures are expected too. And sadly, Coutinho could be among the first options for that.

Not thinking much about that now though. Copa del Rey final is the main focus. 9th domestic double for the team and an amazing 4th in the last five years are on the line. I hope the boys will be up for that final, especially since they managed to not book the flight to Madrid for the big one. :cautious:

Griezmann has confirmed he is leaving Atletico. Took him only five years to become Atletico's 5th all time top goalscorer, with 133.

Assuming Barca is the next destination, they will have a great player and I bet he will enjoy himself having plenty more chances to punish the opponents. Scoring 20+ goals every season for a team that is set up the way Simeone's guys are is not easy at all.

With Real Madrid also going for Hazard and more, I hope these two teams give us a good title race next season, unlike what we saw this time.

Maybe he will be scared away by this monstrosity that awaits us next season. :cautious:

I like how even the Championship doesn’t have the away goals rule but UCL does. The rule Tottenham abused . Channeling my inner PA right now
What's with the recent complaints about the away goals? Wanted City vs Liverpool in the Champions League final too?
