Rangers have kept up their good form. Goal machine and red card machine Morelos scores injury time winner to put Rangers through to the Europa League. The draw is today. Steve G joked that he would like to come to Old Trafford and park the bus. lol

Old Firm derby on Sunday. Rangers at home.

Chris Smalling is off to Roma on loan. Darmian could be leaving. Rojo is staying.

Europa League groups. Linfield almost made it. Losing out on away goals to Qarabag. I know so many hating that away goals rule now. Of course, then you think they might not have scored one if they only needed to score one.

Group A: Sevilla, Apoel Nicosia, Qarabag, F91 Dudelange

Group B: Dynamo Kiev, FC Copenhagen, Malmo, Lugano

Group C: Basel, Krasnodar, Getafe, Trabzonspor

Group D: Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven, Rosenborg, Lask

Group E: Lazio, Celtic, Rennes, Cluj

Group F: Arsenal, Eintracht Frankfurt, Standard Liege, Vitoria

Group G: Porto, Young Boys, Feyenoord, Rangers

Group H: CSKA Moscow, Ludogorets, Espanyol, Ferencvaros

Group I: Wolsfburg, Gent, Saint-Etienne, Olexandriya

Group J: Roma, Borussia Monchengladbach, Istanbul Basaksehir, Wolfsberger AC

Group K: Besiktas, Braga, Slovan Bratislava, Wolves

Group L: Manchester United, FC Astana, Partizan Belgrade, AZ Alkmaar

Feeling a bit annoyed because of the chance there could have been to go and see United play in the Europa League. It doesn't take long to get to Windsor. Feel more sorry for the Linfield men because I do know a few hardcores. Seeing a club from here back in Europe like the ''old days,'' Haven't made the first round since Glenavon in 1996, Linfield made it in 1995. Awk well, blue men.

If you told me a few years ago that Red Star Belgrade (my local team) would play in the Champions League in 2019 while Manchester United wouldn't, I would have just laughed. But that's reality now. :D

To make it more interesting, Manchester United were drawn with Red Star's eternal rivals Partizan in the group stages. I have never had an opportunity this big to watch United. Unfortunately Red Star won't be playing a home game on the same week but this autumn is a great opportunity to watch both of my favorite teams for the first time, and on the European stages as well...

I should be more knowledgable about our football history over here. Had a wee look there. The last time somebody made the European cup was Linfield in 1994 Round1. There are some second rounds in there, Glentoran have some first and second rounds, along with a couple of the other teams.. Linfield making the quarter-final in 1967 is really impressive.

I was expecting another restless afternoon. 2-0 is most dangerous but 1-0 felt dangerous enough. You just knew the equalizer was going to come. Positives have to be Daniel James. I kept hearing that he was pace, tricks and loses the ball. Scoring 3 already shows a bright start with end product. Big Romper Room Lukaku might have been in there to finish off some crosses. Awk well.

Liverpool and City keep at it.

Tammy Abraham looks impressive. (y)

Twice now United have drawn games after getting early lead. Then failing to score another. Reminds me of football manager team talks when you say the wrong thing at half time. I would have told them to guard against complacency. Would have said the same if I had any lead really. That usually gets them all ready. Southampton looked better in the second half. But anyway. Might be time to start Greenwood after the international break.

Rough start in La Liga continues after another slip.

Fati became the youngest goalscorer in Barcelona history, and Arthur came off the bench to score his first goal for the club as well, but the team could only manage a 2-2 draw away to newly promoted Osasuna. Further alarming the total lack of ideas and calm on opponent's grounds. 5 points dropped in August. And obviously another sign that the team misses Leo badly, as he hasn't featured yet in the new season.

Real Madrid needed a late goal from Bale to rescue a 2-2 draw away to Villarreal. Bale, who scored both goals and was sent off in the final minute, is set to stay. Less surprising bad start for them as they went through the same in the past two seasons, but they won't be pleased either.

Atletico Madrid are the only team to win all the opening three La Liga games. After a couple of their signature 1-0 wins, today they came back from two goals down at home to win 3-2 in the 90th minute against Eibar. Joao Felix, the teenage sensation they spent over 100 million on, scored his first goal for them today. And with only three games played, Simeone's men are ahead of Real by 4 points, and ahead of Barca by 5.

Early signs suggest it's going to be a dramatic three horse race, but this is after all a marathon. International break coming up, and we are hoping that Leo will be back in two weeks time to start turning our fortunes around when Valencia come to Camp Nou...

On a far more important note, thoughts and prayers with our former player and manager Lucho Enrique who suffered the worst possible thing that could happen to a parent. May he manage to stay strong. Rest in peace Xana...

Mauro Icardi is secured. 5m loan with a 65m option to buy. We got Sarabia , Herrera , Gueye , Bakker , Diallo , Navas and 2 more gks with Bulka and Sergio Rico. We finally got to keep Neymar for another season , Hopefully he does great and keeps himself motivated and injury free and if he still wants to leave , Then we get a good fee and get another player

Might be time for me to pretend to care about Northern Ireland football team again. haha Nah, the real challenge begins now. At least they have defeated the ol ''teams they should have defeated.'' Would not expect many points against Holland and Germany.

It is hard to quit being a hater. I am genuinely impressed at Northern Ireland's run. I don't want to say the real work begins against Germany since 12/12 is REAL WORK!!!!! But this is another level. I'd still be hopeful of a play-off position.

I see Northern Ireland go back to regular form when they are playing a real team. Nah, I doubt anybody in their right mind would have fancied them against Germany.

Was happy to see James continuing his good form. Wales defeated Belarus 1-0.

''The sensational strike left Bale laughing and clapping on the bench – with James already eyeing his record goals tally.''

Valencia shooting themselves in the foot again by sacking Marcelino he did so well after the poor start last season to qualify for the CL and win the Copa del Rey.

Liverpool with 1 league defeat in their last 43 matches. I'd be getting nervous if I was in the stat comparing game. I would not expect Newcastle to cause much trouble.

Not sure what I will see from United later. More than not knowing what to expect with their performance. A lot of players out.

Abraham is lighting up the premier league. Away Hat trick against Wolves today. Frank Lampard and his younglings seem to be getting it done.

United still lead after a Rashford penalty. It is the Man United way.

Aguero with the goal just before half time. Changes everything. Norwich doing so well cutting out the wingers, but they leave one of the best strikers ever free for his header. Awk well. ''Certainly made my half time team talk a lot easier...''

Lampard took them all to McDonalds for a Happy Meal after the game.

It’s crazy to think, Hudson-Odoi is back, James is almost healthy and will take over at RB.. if Loftus-Cheek wasn’t injured, Kovacic would be the oldest player in the first choice XI, and he’s only just turned 25

Every goal so far has been scored by a player 21 or under. I really couldn’t care less about finishing top 4, 15th, doing well in the Champions League. We could be set up for the next decade after this season, that’s priceless.

Second Camp Nou game of the season finished just like the first one. 5-2 win for Barcelona. Good win over Valencia who went undefeated in this match up last season, drawing both La Liga games and winning Copa del Rey final.

Fati who became Barcelona's youngest ever goalscorer two weeks ago delivered again with just three minutes gone. De Jong assisted, Griezmann let the ball go and Fati finished it first time. He then returned the favor by getting past the defenders on the left wing and assisting De Jong for an easy finish and his first goal for Barcelona.

Valencia halved the deficit before halftime with a quick simple move finished by Gameiro. But the two goal lead was restored early in the second half when Griezmann's shot was deflected on to the post by our former goalkeeper Cillessen while Pique was there to tap in the rebound.

Suarez had a great return from injury. Coming off the bench at the hour mark, he scored only half a minute later. Just outside the area, both him and the ball stood still, and he fired it beautifully into the low near corner in off the post. Near the end of the game he fired in another in the same corner, though from closer range and with a bit more space given. Valencia managed to score a consolation goal in injury time to make it 5-2 at the end.

The goals are there, 12 already, but unfortunately too many have been conceded. 7 in just four games. Even though the team didn't allow Valencia many chances tonight, it is something to work on. We might get away with it in La Liga, after all we were just one stupid Pique handball away from being top of the table already. But in the Champions League that can easily be punished if our forwards don't have the best day. As we have seen at the Olimpico and Anfield. With unfortunate Umtiti set to spend some more time on the sidelines, this part of the team is a legit concern. Once again it's a shame the board missed out on De Ligt in the summer. But since he had his doubts, I can't blame them for backing off. Doing what Cruyff said a long time ago...

Can't wait for Leo to recover from his injury. It's good that the club are taking their time with him as he is approaching late years of his career while still being priceless to the team, but it's been a while. Still hasn't featured this season. With our new Champions League redemption attempt starting next Tuesday at a very tough ground that is Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion, his return would be most welcome. But since it's only four days from now, I am not so optimistic about that. Maybe against Granada next weekend. Want to see how he, Suarez and Griezmann will look together.

..

What a spectacular bicycle kick goal from Neymar to win the game in injury time for PSG by the way.

Yeah, after being forced to do it then things turning out alright in the end. That would be lovely for Chelsea.

''Frank the tank knows food comes first.' Abraham will obviously take the headlines but it looks quite good from the outside looking in now. The fresh meat. OK, I'll stop with the food references. :p We just keep hearing about the United youngsters but rarely get to see them. The pundit talk was going on about the academies yesterday.

Positive thoughts. ok ok. Harry Maguire won 5/6 aerial duels yesterday.

The rumour is the ban will end and we can buy again in January, but i'm struggling to think of anyone who would make sense. Spend big on a striker and send Abraham to the bench? No thanks. Splash out on a winger to play ahead of Mount or Hudson-Odoi? Nah. Midfield looks good with RLC being back next year and a couple of youngsters coming through. Maybe a CB, although it's not that important once Rudiger is back. Ake might make sense, there's a buy back clause with Bournemouth and he came through the youth ranks, so that would be the only one I could think of.
