Word around the campfire says United have bid 30 million for that Birmingham kid. That's good, he fits in with the thing United is trying to build but we need a player that is ready to go right now.

I think it is pretty safe to say that Paul Pogba is done with United. To be fair, I'm not over the moon with him or anything but when the agent says we've failed to match his ambition you just have to say yep.

I don’t really understand futball that well, but Roma seems to play some beautiful counter attacking futbol. Just as I’m writing this Ronaldo scored, but that’s the way it goes with him.

United could also end up in tenth. Looked like they were dominating the game but as usual not creating anything really. Mata got in with a chance and Martial missed one. Then Burnley score. Nuts. I was meant to be at this game tonight but I changed my mind in the end. Just could not be bothered to make my return at this moment in time.

Mate still went. He just sent me a message saying ''brutal.''

An advert featuring Collina. Wow. Thinking back again. Really was something for a ref to be on the cover of pro evo twice. I know he shared the cover on pro evo 4 but still there. Amazing. A ref that transcended and all that good stuff. :p

Surely they have to get the coin out after seeing this. Rashford out and Martial is hit and miss. Unless this is another the end is near sabotaging act by the dastardly one.

No funds available until United get the Pogba money.

Concede that it is also naive thinking from me by saying the only thing we lack is an attacking midfielder. Maybe that was the optimist part of me.

Leicester back on track tonight. Defeating West Ham 4-1. Spurs beat Norwich 2-1.

Barcelona narrowly avoided embarrassment, registering a late comeback win over Ibiza in Copa del Rey. Griezmann tied the game with under twenty minutes left after a great pass from De Jong, while he scored deep into injury time after Alba put him through to make sure Barca avoided extra time as well.

Usually going behind like that would have been nothing to be alarmed about as our cup used to have two legs in each round except the final. Since this season however the two legged system has been abolished in all rounds except the semifinal. This will give a bigger chance for memorable cup upsets going forward.

Tonight we had several competitive games across the country with one underdog victory. Tenerife who are in Segunda, just a point above relegation to third division, came back from behind to knock out La Liga team Real Valladolid. Athletic Bilbao needed penalty shootouts to beat Elche. Granada got the better of third division Badalona after extra time. Valencia only narrowly beat another third division team Logrones. Same goes for Barcelona against Ibiza...

Copa del Rey had many great stories before late 2000s. Even when there were two legs in all pre-final rounds, there were times when Barca and Madrid struggled there against lesser teams. But still this is a rare recent change in football that I am not unhappy about. Let's see the magic of Copa again...

Yeah, United are backing Ole. Then give him some bloody coin and at least pretend to be.

They say they are backing him. Fernandes wants to come, come on. We were not born yesterday. I did not come to life on the connswater bridge yesterday. Ugh.

I'm very frustrated. Almost as frustrated as Arsene when he would say his players aren't treated fairly.

OK, I'm frustrated and get caught up in the emotions. This is football after all. I'd never go this far though.

Footage has emerged on social media of United fans chanting about “killing Ed Woodward”.

Supporters can be seen walking down the Munich tunnel at Old Trafford chanting: “He's gonna die, he's gonna die. Ed Woodward, is gonna die.

“How we kill him I don't know. Chop him up from head to toe. All I know is Woodward's gonna die.”

Damn. Yeah, I've mumbled some stuff from time to time. Just check my post history.

Kind of feel sorry for the other guy that went along with my mate to the match last night. We hear Rio talking about fans leaving on 85 minutes. A lot were leaving while it was still 0-1, including my mate.

Sad.

Do you reckon Ole will last the season?

Frustrating times.

I do have extra sympathy for him because he is a club legend at the very highest tier. I can't see him lasting until the end of the season now. Even with the ''backing.'' He just keeps getting outdone, his tactical know-how (along with the rest of the coaches there) leaves a lot to be desired. I know he was not dealt the best hand. But then, to go way back to what @TheAssassin said last year, you bring in another guy and it will be rinse and repeat. That wasn't the exact quote but yeah. That's why we are hearing these rumours about Poch would only join if he had similar Fergie style control which is pretty impossible in the age of today.

I would not expect Ole to still be there at the end of the season. The fans can chant for Woodward out but that is highly unlikely. Ole is the one that has to suffer for it. That's life, right? :p

I'd love Wolves to get 4th.

Doubt it will happen, one of the bigger teams will probably stumble into it. Wolves deserve it though.
Liverpool's goal there pretty much describes what you're saying. Wolves looked more likely to score a second, got a few good opportunities. Then Liverpool score. I just have to say well done.

Yeah, they're a machine. I'd prefer to play peak City from a couple of years ago than this Liverpool side, you just can't see them losing. They're far superior to City in Europe too.

And several other La Liga teams lost today.

Segunda team Mirandes beat Celta in extra time.
Third division Badajoz with a dominant display and victory over Eibar.
Another Segunda team Rayo Vallecano scored a late extra time equalizer and knocked out Real Betis on penalties.
Most notably, third division club Leonesa came from behind to knock out Atletico Madrid.

Last 16 stage coming up next, and there are only nine La Liga teams left. Shaping up to be quite a Copa, especially if someone punishes Barca and Real on a bad day.

Boring anybody yet? ''Nah, no more than you usually do.''

Michael Owen was asked about Bruno Fernandes. He says players regress at United so we shouldn't sign him. hmm, so what shall we do then? Just start loaning in some Raith Rovers reserves? I'm just kidding, he was more saying it would be unwise for Bruno to sign, not unwise for United. To be fair, I can't really argue with him.

Sporting is convinced that United will cave. I guess it depends on if we can get the Raith Rovers in first. It says that he will be left out of their next fixture on Monday because of the interest. That could also be a big nothing. We managed to keep David De Gea after he was left out due to Real Madrid interest. Of course, the fax machine assist was all part of that as well.

Guess it is one of those don't believe anything you read situations. Yeah, I got well caught up in it. :D Even rocking a bloody avatar. Says the stories coming out of England and Portugal are very different. Only time will tell. Glad the window is coming to an end. No longer getting any hopes up. Past that stage.

Now on to Tranmere and their beautiful pitch.

So what do you think, ladies and gentlemen?

Will Man United complete the deal for Fernandes before the window closes? Will they upgrade their squad at all?

I read about the Barcelona defeat and I'm sure tiki-taka will update it One thing I did like from their manager was this

"We made a lot of passes for the sake of making them and were not capable of causing any damage."

Barcelona sounding a bit like United. :p jk. No, what I like is his honesty.

The longer Man Utd bury their head in the sand and instead throw money at it, that's one less team to worry about in the top 4 race for the forseeable :p

I hear what you're saying but I hope we get him to help give us a spark. Just to hopefully see some better football. Become one of our more important signings. haha Yeah, I'm dreaming.

Counterattacking is our plan A, even against the Burnley's of the world. Mindblowing.

Keep hearing the ol, United need 5 or 6, it keeps making me look at Liverpool and the players they signed. You can see that was pure scouting talent rather than just random., Salah, Mane, Alisson, Virgil. They are all world-class, the homegrown Trent is better than any of our homegrown players etc etc. You just can't trust United. haha Wan-Bissaka is a gooden. Yeah, one player.

But yes, just please get Fernandes in to give me some short term relief. :p

It's a tough one, they keep saying Chelsea need to sign to get top 4. Especially after not being able to buy in the summer plus losing Hazard. It just sounds like a knee jerk reaction to some tough games recently, talking about signing Cavani for stupid money, getting a makeshift forward from Russia etc.. I'm not interested in short term relief, i'm interested in the path we're on that hopefully makes us one of the best in Europe in a few years time.

Let the kids show what they've got, I reckon. If we finish 6th? So what. I thought top 10 would be a decent season coming into it when the ban was supposedly 2 windows. The tough lessons they're learning now will pay off in the coming years, patience!

The only signing I'd of liked to of made was Ziyech as a replacement for the "looks pretty, does f*(k all Willian". 4 assists and 4 goals all season is nowhere near good enough. Ziyech has 21 assists alone! He's the best crosser of a ball i've seen in recent years, we don't have anyone like that in the side. Tammy has 15 or so goals, but the service has been less than useless. Two problems with that though, first, we weren't interested. Second, he picked up a nasty injury recently for Ajax and looks like he'll be out for awhile.

So yeah, stay as we are and maybe get Sancho in the summer and move Pedro/Willian on. Get better and get younger, stick to the plan!

Yes, a lot of your youth seems to be very good. I've even managed Reece James when I got him on loan in another game. haha Yeah, don't underrate loans. Of course, in real life, United won't get that sort of quality on loan. And you've stacks of other players, so yeah, that is your club philosophy. Our guys coming through, I dunno, Greenwood looks to be a cert, Williams has looked good, but then the likes of Chong, Gomes etc, not sure what their future is. Would have thought Garner would've had a chance by now.

What about Kepa? Are the media doing their usual thing? Making a few mistakes, read somebody talking about a technical error he noticed when Kepa signed. Says he has the rest of the season to convince Lamps he should retain his place. Do you reckon he will still be in next season?

Kepa was great at the start of the season, when our defence was rubbish. He kept us in games and conceded goals that you'd be ok with as a keeper. Now the defence has improved quite a bit, but we still give up a couple of great chances a game. Overhead kick from a corner on New Years day, Newcastle had a point blank header that he couldn't do anything about, Arsenal had the entire Chelsea half to themselves for their first, Bellerin bent in a curler that started outside the post and the injured Tammy was shielding the keepers view etc..

He's not really doing any worse, he's just not getting the half chances to save like he was in the first few months of the season. Sure, maybe Allison would of stopped a few of them, but as far as decent keepers go, he's doing what i'd expect personally.

Dortmund blows out Union Berlin 5–0.

Two more goals for Håland, in addition to securing a penalty. He has now played only 3 games (not nearly full games even) and has already notched 7 goals, taking him into the top 10 goalscoarer list of the Bundesliga. A little Midas, this guy.

Bruno had a solid first outing, more to come from him, i'm sure.

The most impressive debutant for me was Podence. Neville said he reminded him of Hazard, obviously he's not the same level, but it looks like a nice bit of business for Wolves.

Big fan of Ziyech expecting him to do well in the Premier League.
I agree, he’s lethal from set pieces and the best crosser of a ball that I’ve seen in recent years. Two things that Chelsea have missed greatly this year. That’s part of the reason we haven’t been able to kill games off, opponents haven’t had to worry about that aspect so it’s been relatively straightforward for them. Hopefully that’ll change with Ziyech.

City with a 2 year ban from Europe and a 30m fine. I doubt goes through
I read that the Football League have a rule that any club found guilty of doing what City have done, will be relegated to League 2

I agree though, they'll get away with it on appeal. Or at least have a much more lenient punishment. As much as being relegated to League 2 and not being in Europe for years would be funny, it's not going to happen.

Entertaining game today. We were losing 0-3 at the 45’ against Amiens , But came back with goals of Herrera , 2 from academy player Koussai and 4th from Icardi. Cavani missed a huge oportunity to finish them off in added time and Amiens scored. Match finished 4-4
