I apologise in advance to anyone watching Chelsea v Man Utd tonight.

Pedro, Willian and Batshuayi up top for Chelsea... Man Utd going with 5 at the back :-D

0-0 written all over it. Chance of a comedic goal if someone messes up badly though, that could be fun.

This Haaland guy is absoluely incredible.
I saw somewhere he sprinted 60 metres at a pace that would put him in a world championship final. That was half way through a game! Throw in his goals and all the other incredible things he's doing, amazing. I'm sure he'll end up at Man Utd or Madrid in a year or two.

I mean, I wouldn’t! I don’t get the appeal personally. But Man Utd and Madrid seem to be the places players want to go.

Torres said a few days ago that he was the only Atletico fan in his class at school, everyone else support Real Madrid. It’s similar for Man Utd.

Maybe it was the case during Ferguson's era, but the club has lost its prestige recently and is being snubbed by a lot of players.

VAR strikes again!

You don’t see many leg breaker challenges these days, which is good. That one today though? Ouch. It would of been a straight red in the 80’s, that one.

Liverpool stays unbeaten but there was some work and some luck required to beat a probable relegation team from 1-2 down to the 3-2 win. West Ham was poised to pull the upset at Anfield.

Can't remember higher odds for Real Madrid at home than tonight. Sure they are not what they used to be but they are the masters of European knockout games, unlike City. Looking forward to the whole tie.

Courtois looked like he had a shocker for the first goal, same happened at the weekend.

I've always had fun seeing City fail in Europe, but part of me wants to see them win it this season. UEFA will be tearing their hair out :p

It was really good to see Lyon defeating Juventus. I honestly can’t see Lyon getting a win or even a draw , But they’re not in a bad situation , An away goal and making sure Juventus doesn’t score more than 2 should finish the job. Lyon has scored at home all of the teams they’ve faced between this and last years if i remember correctly , They only need more luck and to put some good defending that day. I can see Juventus winning the tie

Good day of football tbh. Ajax-Getafe was entertaining , Getafe showed clear superiority. All portuguese teams got eliminated today , Benfica’s ties against Shakhtar was very good , Ended 5-4 with Shakhtar advancing. Inter , Sevilla , Roma , Wolves and United advanced. Arsenal are on extra time against Olimpiakos right now , Hoping for an upset

Lmao did you see the Arsenal ending? Arsenal scores on a bicycle kick to go ahead, then give up a goal, then the same dude that scored the bicycle kick goal missed an absolute sitter to put them through and they lose.

Inter v Juve this weekend behind closed doors, they had to i guess because of the current situation.
I read that the Premier League season might be null and void if they have to cancel games because of it.

Still sounds unlikely and they should probably just give it to Liverpool anyway, being so far ahead with only 10 or so games to go, but still, something for the Man Utd fans to hold on to :censored:

Much as I hate Liverpool, even if games were canceled, they should get it. I don't foresee games being canceled anyways, but nobody would take it seriously if people tried to actually say they didn't win. They've dominated the league, fairplay to them.

I'm just hoping they get jettisoned out of UCL.

Just ending the season early sounds more feasible than voiding the whole season after the effort teams have put in and that's me not wanting Liverpool to win the title. :-D
Totally agree. Even if it was much closer, we’ve still played 3/4 of the season. It’s new territory though, there’s no precedent.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that.

Yeah, Haaland is the best striker in the world. Don't really care for those ''you missed out'' quotes. Not even sure how much United was in for them.

Fernandes has given United a huge lift. His first offside pass the other week was better than anything United had created in a while. haha Yes, of course, we're waiting for it to all come crashing down against Everton this afternoon. Ole's worst moment so far was Everton last season. I'd agree that progress has been made since then. I'm convinced we are real challengers for top 4.

I watched Real vs City the other night. Wow, Real are mere shadows of their former self. Hard to believe that was a home match. or just Real at all.

Tough match, United looked menacing in the first half. Almost like they put it all in to get it back to 1-1. Still looked capable afterwards but not as intense. Everton had the better of the second half.

Pickford makes up for his earlier mistake by saving the game for Everton in the closing moments. Double save from Fernandes and Ighalo. Moments later United are saved with a VAR assist to keep the game at 1-1. In my unbiased view the player on the ground was definitely interfering with play. He's right in front of De Gea and on the ground. No way is that not interfering. Phew. I think a draw is fair result

@Poisoned Slice people kind of snickered at your Bruno excitement but you were right. Already one of our best players.
I was going to respond in the other thread but here is better for football.:

Some passes going astray in the second half today but overall he has made a great impact. The ending could have been icing on the cake for him. But he still made sure we at least got a point. If not for the mistake then maybe we win today. But at least we didn't get slaughtered this time. Came back well after that. Second half Everton looked more likely to win.

Yeah, he has been amazing. So happy to see him make an almost instant impact. Good to have him beside Greenwood and co. Some quality to learn from on the training field since Pogba is still injured. (allegedly say some. :p)

Hope we can keep raising our level. Big games next week.

Good game between Wolves and Spurs , Wolves are on a mission , They’re playing at a good level , Likely to get EL again and who knows how far they can go this year in Europe. Lyon defeats their main rivals Saint Etienne to complete probably the best week of the season

They might have an outside chance of Champions League. Depends what happens with City, plus Spurs, Chelsea, Man Utd and Leicester all have their own issues.

It's unlikely, but it could be fun to keep an eye on down the stretch.

Yeah, WoIves are definitely in the discussion at least. Great comebacks yesterday. I don't think Jose Mourinho will win his new ''best achievement ever'' award this season to get Spurs back in the champions league. I do think City will get their ban overturned. Bigger fine.

I think so too. It's like those transfer bans, the first few got overturned and were a warning of sorts.

Chelsea rewarded with a nice botch from the Liverpool keeper. He was feeling sweet after making a good save from Willian. About 20 seconds later, Willian has another go, he strikes it with power and it is too much for Adrian. To quote every would-be pundit in history. ''You gotta save those.''

I have no problem with Kep celebrating there. lol Three saves in an instant was very impressive. Like the force field is around him. Reminding me of me a little bit. :p

Old school game! End to end, fast paced etc..

Feels like we don't get many of those these days.

Gilmour looked quality, the interview at the end was even better, so it was.

Fabregas took him under his wing and they're still in contact, there are a few similarities I guess.

Hopefully he gets a lot more playing time, which he should do with Kante/Kovacic injured and Jorginho suspended. He's a must start against Bayern in a few weeks too, the tie is over, but to see what it's like to go against that Bayern team will be huge for him. It's a bit like when Chelsea first outclassed Barcelona 15 years ago, seeing Lampard go up against Xavi and win the battle was when you knew something was really happening. I don't expect an 18 year old to have the same success against Thiago, but it should give us an idea of where he's really at.

On to the French Cup final. Today we defeated Lyon 5-1 , It was a tight game until they got a red card and then it was game over for them. Mbappé scored a hattrick , He’s an amazing player , my favorite , It’s going to be sad to see him leave one day , Especially if it happens this summer because of a failure in the Champions league

The Hat-Trick was a top story on one of the online newspapers over here, wouldn't of got to see it otherwise. He's a top player for sure, I hope he stays too. I hate seeing all these qualities players go to Real Madrid.

Gilmour running the show like a wily veteran. Definitely one to be excited about. I can say that about many of the players in your squad. Of course, you will have ups and downs because it is just really the beginning. He was very impressive against Liverpool. He wasn't the only one but Alan Shearer just made it sound that way. A nice change because Sir Alan is usually crapping on players. :p

But then when I say all this about Chelsea it makes me think I'm being a bit harsh on United. As long as we just don't fall apart and miss out on top 4 by a mile or something. Then get another couple of players in. Yeah, of course, I'd still rather have a different manager but if he is here and they keep him on beyond this season then I will support him. Bruno has been the breath of fresh air for the moment, you expect to see him with 2-3 players marking him if he is the only one doing anything. That is something to be worried about.

So much for the Rangers title challenge. I really thought they could do it this season. Big win against Braga in Europe but it has all gone Pete Tong domestically. Reached a new low last night against Hamilton. Really hits home when you find out that is only the second victory for Hamilton (at Ibrox) in 94 years.

Another couple of performances like that and I will be demanding an extension for Ighalo. Feels good to have a classic number 9 that doesn't do much. Leave the flicks and tricks to others while you score some simply ugly tap ins. I love it. (y)
