There were a lot of things about the final, and the build up. By the time kick off came around all the nerves had gone, I just knew City wouldn't be winning. Things like how they celebrated when they made the final, it felt like they were so relieved to finally do it and that was their Everest. Contrast that with Chelsea saying "we've won nothing yet, one game to go". Then we had Pep doing his customary tinkering before a European exit, the manager interviews half an hour before the game where Tuchel was smiling and joking and Pep was being spiky and defensive. I think Joe Cole and Lescott in the studio were a microcosm of the whole thing. Joe seemed to get more confident in the build up whilst it felt like Lescott got less confident. It looks like Donnarumma is on his way to PSG. Getting one of the best keepers in the world for nothing, well, his contract isn't cheap. Happy days for PSG if this is done. I hear they are getting Wijnaldum as well.
I really enjoyed the United way documentary. Quite sad because it was a nostalgia trip. Just felt like a more powerful nostalgias trip when you consider our position today.
Thank you, mate.
I don't want to say that Pep's tactical changes was the decisive factor because I knew Chelsea were more than capable of beating City no matter what tactics were used. 1-0 was a bit generous in the end. Like you say, get Haaland in there and it could have been a bigger score. And yeah, when you are looking to move, you see the Chelsea squad, with United, it is more about living off their past glory while you are getting it done in the present.
Leicester are making some nice moves, providing they all come off. Their recruitment is usually spot on in recent years.
You're more optimistic than me about our transfers. I'd be expecting us to drag it out forever and maybe get the panic buy right at the end. That seems to be the United way in this day and age. Hope to be wrong about this. I'm still an optimist deep down.
Does seem a bit strange, there are a few strange ones actually. Wolves getting Lage. Nuno being linked to Spurs and Arsenal for years then finding out Crystal Palace are the only ones interested in him.Looking like a delayed manager swap deal with Roma and Spurs. Former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca is in advanced talks with Spurs now.
The sports pages are saying Daniel Levy has run out of options and this is a last resort. I think that is a bit extreme when you consider some other managers out there. But yeah, I would hardly put him in the same league as Antonio Conte.
I've no doubt it will get done. All these stories about him growing up a Chelsea fan, idolising Lampard etc.. We've known this for years, not sure why the media are portraying it like it's something new and will scupper the deal. The Man United and Sancho merry-go-round continues. The news now says we are 11 million apart. At least this time, there is still plenty of time left in the transfer window. I'm hearing everybody wants to get it done. Yes, I'm happy about that. Still, we got Diallo in January. I'm all for having a stronger squad, that is important. I'm just more keen for them to get a defender and midfielder.
LOLI like Goldbridge. Watched a few of his videos and suddenly everything was getting called a bloody prat. My favourite was him arguing mid-stream with a knife-wielding Spanish fruit salesman. Handled beautifully by Mr Goldbridge.
The main boys getting the prat treatment are my Football Manager players. I had Karim Adeyemi for 2 years as Crystal Palace manager but I really came to dislike him, despite scoring a lot of goals in his second year. He sits atop the prat throne, next to my ex assistant manager who got the boot after he said a positive thing about Brighton (big rivals and managed by my friend) in the media.LOL
The Ukraine keeper is a prat.
He was talking about Ryan Gravenberch today. He's been hot on football manager for the last few years. Was hoping we would have seen him play tonight. Read a lot of headlines about him recently. Of course, I'd be hoping if there was a chance of us getting him, that Ole actually wants him. Not having him stuck on the bench all season like poor DVB. I'm not even getting a little hyped about this one. Just random speculation to me. Sancho does feel real.
Lol that’s a myth that’s been busted many times. Also, the sport has evolved. You can’t just rely on one player to do everythingYes, because he is the best player of the world. As Maradona was in his time, when he won the WC with a team of mugs.
