I'm hoping for a draw too. :p Got to see a few more big games to judge, particularly from Man United who haven't played any derby yet but I think in the end it will be a race between Manchester clubs and Chelsea. Others are not winning this title.

Certainly looks that way at the moment! Both Manchester clubs have had an easy schedule so far so it’s probably too early to say, as you mention. Man Utd’s most difficult game on paper was Stoke away, where they dropped points. Man City have had Liverpool at home, but Brighton, Watford, Palace, West Brom and Bournemouth thrown in. Hardly scary!

Morata must have been listening to Phil Neville before the game yesterday. I'll show him.

City are frightening me now. It's one thing to beat up weak teams, it is another thing to keep doing it with such conviction. Chelsea to stop them next week. :p

Just saw the 'highlights' of the United match. I'll take it.

I can't make up my mind on him. He reminds me of Torres at his best, which can only be a good thing. The problem is that means he can go missing for periods and you don't get the intangibles of a Drogba or a Costa, who are involved in the game at all times and it's a big component of how Chelsea have played and the identity of the team. We gain something having him, but lose alot also.

Time will tell, I guess. All I can say is he looks an absolute bargain at £58 Million!

Yes, a real steal. I think it was Paul Merson that gave the other opinion. Says he watched Morata for 15 minutes or so, but he could see the beautiful music that Morata is capable of in those 15 minutes. Yes, I often forget about intangibles, it is all about goals.haha I am starting to see what my mate was talking about when Morata weas brought up during the Summer.

Yeah the drama in the summer over who would get Lukaku and who would get Morata between United and Chelsea has proved irrelevant so far. Both have been incredible.

There’s no doubt Morata is better than I thought he was, he really does remind me of Torres at his peak, over the small sample size we have of him anyway. I was just never really a fan of Torres personally, Villa, Drogba and Eto’o were the best of that generation for my money.

The biggest stadium in Europe, which hosted two Champions League finals, four Copa del Rey finals, five 1982 World Cup matches and 1992 Olympics final in football, turns 60 today.

So many great memories... ¡Feliz cumpleaños, Camp Nou! :)

Four goals for Locadia against Fc Utrecht away.. will he then finally fulfill his potential? The guy is tall, fast , athletic and has great shooting technique.

If he gets it right between the ears and leave the injuries behid, at 24 I still think he can become a great striker.

Hyped for Real's trip to Dortmund tomorrow. One of the most in form teams in Europe, 19:1 goal difference and only two dropped points in their first six Bundesliga games.

Wednesday sounds even cooler. Atletico-Chelsea, PSG-Bayern and of course Manchester United's trip to mother Russia. :D

Some Red Devil fans are going to end up in prison for life. They didn't get the memo about how things are operating.

The story about the PSG president offering Cavani a million to let King Neymar take set pieces. Shady goings on. If King Neymar has it in his contract then what the hell? Would prince Cavani have a similar thing in his contract or is this just boys being boys? Fair play to him for refusing. lol It plays out like an Austin Powers scene in my mind. They will have to offer him 100 billion dollars. :p He probably would too. Damn those financial fair play laws.

Man City in dominating form once more. 2-0 does not flatter at all. Sterling could even afford to miss a penalty. He made up for it with a nice goal to seal the win. Not that it was ever in doubt, but 1-0 is 1-0.

Aguero missed the penalty, not Sterling.

Seventh visit and finally first win for Real Madrid at the Westfalenstadion. Bale's beauty and Ronaldo's brace sealed it. Now bet your house on Messi scoring two tomorrow.

Kane doing his usual goal machine stuff.

Harry Kane continues to get it done. Amazing.

Yeah, that's right. Was flicking through the channels and something got lost in translation. Didn't even make sense because Aguero is their normal taker, I think, and he was going after the goalscoring record. Anyway, I think they are looking like the real deal. Feels more like Pep's team, kind of like Man United with Mourinho.

A brace against Chelsea would be a nice way for Aguero to celebrate the goalscoring record. :)

It's looking solid for both of the clubs at the moment. I hope their coaches will do well and settle in Manchester better than in the previous clubs. Could be special several years in the Premier League ahead of us.

How can you possibly show support towards both sides man? :D

City because I love their football style, and that is even when Mancini and Pellegrini were in charge. Even better with Pep now. The way they became relevant is a minus though.
United because I have a tremendous amount of respect for many of their legends and usually attacking, never say die attitude. Also, my mother, half-English, was a big fan of the club. Having Jose is a minus though. :p

Hope that cleared it up. I should have said I hope both clubs will do well, not both coaches.

I’ve just heard England have picked Vince and Ballance for the Ashes this winter. What a clusterfu*!. Hoping Chelsea do a number of Atletico tonight to salvage the day, but I’m expecting more of 5-4-1 grind it out, ugly game like Spurs earlier in the season. A draw in the toughest group game would be a decent result.

What A Game!

Chelsea absolutely destroyed Atletico in every facet. Simeone didn’t have a clue how to cope with Conte’s tactics, dominated possession, had all the chances, hit the post, work ethic was higher etc..

It could of been 5-1 easily, who’d of thought that

Meanwhile, 3 of our last 4 goals were own goals. 1-0 away win over Sporting CP thanks to Coates putting the ball in his own net. Scoring goals ourselves has become boring so we just let the opponents do it instead. :D Could have played better though Sporting made it difficult as well to be fair.

Home match against Las Palmas on the weekend and then tough job starts after the international break. Atletico is the next away game. Good thing we have had good results against them there, we don't necessarily need to take notes from Chelsea's game tonight. :p

I think you're screwed. Clearly Barcelona lack the tactical acumen, work rate, all round quality and lack of a Hazard, unlike this years Champions League winners in waiting in Chelsea..

Best of luck though ;):p

2-1 up, the opponents go a man down in the 86th minute but still end up equalizing in the 90th. That "Everton are building something" comment of mine from a month ago or so is ringing in my ears. :D

Milan had a 2-0 lead against Croatian side Rijeka until the 84th minute. The guests scored two to equalize in the 90th minute, but Milan regained the lead in the 94th minute.

Arsenal with another goalfest. It will be interesting to see if they will take Europa League seriously. Depending on the situation in the league, they could be forced to win it we had to last season. Plus this would be a great chance for Arsene to finally win a European trophy.

Aaaand Ancelotti got sacked.

It feels like a few of the elite teams of the last decade are stagnating a bit. Bayern are one of those teams, maybe Barcelona and Atletico. Too early to tell if the English sides are coming back after years of mediocrity, but PSG are certainly rising. Maybe it’s a changing of the guard to a degree, these things go in cycles afterall.

Arsenal and European finals. Got so close in the old cup winners' cup. Always have a flashback to that Nayim goal.

.

It makes that comment from @TheMuzziah even funnier now. Everton is building something alright. A new ground. lol

Don Carlo is linked with West Ham.

I saw that. I also saw AC Milan contacted him straight away. Tough choice, no? :p

The managerial revolving door. I read something about that. Milan giving off the impression that they will keep the faith with Montella. They are not doing too badly this season, although they are already out of title contention. :p

Yeah I saw that too, you never know though, all these games that go on with saying one thing in public then doing something totally different behind closed doors. Having said that, I think they probably want Conte. Maybe waiting for the season to be over and see how things look then will be the option they take.

I sure hope the English will be back. As much as I like La Liga too, the days when there 2 or 3 Premier League teams regularly in the CL semifinals were quite stunning. It probably won't happen this season but I am going to be optimistic about the near future. Serie A having another contender besides Juventus would be nice too.

Wow... Turns out he broke a rib in a car accident. Could be out for two months. :( Speedy recovery Kun.

Damn! I only just heard that on the radio there. What a shame. Best I can say is I'm glad it wasn't even more serious. When I hear car accident, my mind starts to drift off.

I agree yeah. The English sides doing well again, PSG and Monaco, Italy having the Milan clubs back in the latter stages. It would be good for the competition.

I think it's inevitable that the Spanish sides will slip at some point, these things do go in cycles. I think they will be able to bounce back quickly with the appeal and clout that the big clubs have. Bayern are more of a concern though, historically a portion of their stars come from other German clubs. A weaker Bundesliga means they won't have as many players to bring in. There was a time a few years back when Dortmund were losing their best player ever season to Bayern. That stops and things get difficult.
