I wonder if Couts will get any minutes at Anfield? He's going to get slaughtered by our fans, little rat.

The best revenge is being better without him and winning the tie. You’ve achieved the first part, alright! Just got to do the second bit now.

Gotta give credit where credit is due, Tottenham look good. Even more impressive when you consider that they are without Harry Kane.

Real Madrid is the prime example of that. A disgusting club from day one.
Like really , How the hell Madrid suffering from debt gets to spend 54% of their revenue on Zidane transfer back in 2001 , That was just unsustainable , Of course they got injected cash , But people don't care cause they , like some other clubs have the " history" card. Milán got cash injections too back in the 80's , 90's and early 2000's

We have the Europa League semifinals line-up too.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Chelsea, Arsenal vs Valencia

Pretty similar to the Champions League when it comes to league distribution. Two English and one Spanish club in Europa as well. Germans instead of the Dutch.

All these four teams are in a tight contest for the fourth place in their leagues. Arsenal are 4th, just above Chelsea in the Premier League, Eintracht are 4th in Germany with a one point lead over 5th, while Valencia are 6th in Spain, three points behind 4th placed Sevilla. Safe to say all of these teams will be looking at this competition as more than just a significant piece of silverware if their domestic form suffers in the few remaining games.

What these semifinalists also have in common is that all of them have played just one Europa League final before. Arsenal are the only of the four that never won it. While Eintracht (1980), Valencia (2004) and Chelsea (2013) took their chance, the Gunners lost their final in 2000 on penalties.

Vamos Valencia. Make La Liga proud, like Sevilla have in recent years.

I lost all interest in a Champions League place when the transfer ban was announced. The benefits of a top 4 finish are more money, being able to recruit better players to give yourself a fighting chance in the big competition etc.. that doesn’t mean anything to Chelsea now.

With Hazard all but certainly leaving, Willian showing his age, Hudson-Odoi unwilling to sign a new contract, Higuain and Kovacic returning to their parent clubs, Giroud wanting to leave etc.. I don’t think the current Chelsea side would do themselves justice in the Champions League as it stands right now, much less next season when they’ll of lost players they aren’t allowed to replace.

Would be nice to win the Europa League though. Silverware is always welcome! Sarri getting his first ever trophy would be good too. The Champions League place? It’s not that important as things stand.

I watch the Bundesliga and Pulisic is brainless.

Can’t say I’ve seen much of him. I heard he showed good leadership during a difficult time a few years ago, and everyone says he’s got talent.. but then Dortmund never play him, and they’re willing to sell him. Strange one!

I can tell you he's good technically but he often runs like a headless chicken hoping to dribble past opponents.

Hudson-Odoi is the same. It would be entertaining if they're our two wingers next season

Suppose it's just an age thing, still learning their craft and all that. Hopefully...

Maybe that Sancho kid from England has pushed him out of the line-up.

I'm glad Klopp did not push for him. He's going to bring a lot of newbie American fans and they are going to freak out if Sarri does not start him. Fair to say Chelsea is a poisoned chalice and will be as long as a Putin thug is still the owner.

The 1st leg against Liverpool will be played on the 1st of May at Camp Nou. But before then, Barcelona have three La Liga games in eight days. Sociedad, Alaves and Levante. These remaining fixtures in April present a great domestic opportunity for the club. Winning all three of them would mean La Liga title is retained. Obviously at this point it's a matter of when rather than if as there are six games left in total. But it would be good to seal it before the Champions League tie, especially the 2nd leg at Anfield, which I imagine will be tougher than anything Barca have had to deal with so far this season.

Valverde has named a full strength squad for the home game against Real Sociedad tomorrow as the team plans to get back to winning ways after a draw to bottom ranked Huesca last weekend. On another note, Leo Messi, who has already tied his goalscoring tally of the previous season, needing 12 fewer matches this time to hit 45, has an opportunity this month to reach an astonishing total of 600 goals for FC Barcelona. Only three away. I thought he would only start slowing down now but he has been proving me wrong again, with his general influence on the game being as big as ever. That is something we will need in order for further progress in Europe, hopefully he won't be having any dips now. Luckily he hasn't been forced to play too much this season, so I guess the possibility of long, consistent form is bigger.

It's been a fortress, in the league we have not lost a match in TWO years. And on European nights, it's a cauldron. I wonder if he will play Couts there, he will be in for a torrid reception. We were fine with letting him go, but his 'back injury' when we [thought] we needed him left a poor taste in our mouths. You should have seen how Sterling played there, not great. I don't think we hate them anymore, just going to use it to our advantage.

It's a shame we are meeting in the semi's, but I'm glad we have Anfield in play against you guys.

You seem to have a lot of matches prior, but you have La Liga and don't need to stress about it, on the other hand, we can't blink. But at the end of the day, it suits us. Klopp likes to use the underdog card. But personally, I think Citeh will wobble, they are weaker mentally and the CL defeat should take the wind out of their sails and give other teams hope to go at them.

I'm glad we are flying under the radar. Last year a lot of our matches were like the City-Spuds game. This year, we have a great defense and balance. We don't freak out anymore, not only is big Viril calming our boys in the back, but also heading in some great balls. I know nothing about your defence, do you have a Puyol type at all now? That could be the difference.

I wonder how Coutinho would respond to that, I reckon he'd handle it better than Sterling, not quite sure what makes me say that but most players do handle it better than he has in a lot of our games. Which like you say has worked to our advantage so far although one day it won't, think a lot of us will have the grudging respect for what he's become since leaving as a footballer and I think most of us can appreciate how he's done recently standing up to racism and calling out the blatant racism in the media.

The way Coutinho left will always leave a bad taste but I don't think most of us as fans were fine letting him go mid-season at the time or really at all last season to be honest regardless of how he went about it (shows what we know though I suppose, turned out alright)

I don't think we'll really have the underdog card v Barca I think it'll be seen as pretty much 50-50. I definitely prefer it being the semis, Ajax in the final'd be sound.

We have seen in the past teams wrapping up their League early working against them as actually, when you're not playing overly competitive games for a few weeks it can be hard to switch it back on. (had a bye to the semis as well) but who knows really can work both ways.

I am less confident about City dropping points than I was though, kinda think the revenge factor had they knocked Spurs out could've been helpful and Man Utd look like dogshit since Solksjear signed his contract so I'm not as hopeful on that one as I was but it is a derby so who knows, really hoping their spirit has been crushed by Spurs but we'll see. Then there's stuff like Burnley away kind of a tricky fixture. Thing is they only really need to draw one and it probably needs to come in one of those 3, fingers crossed.

Liverpool are clearly the favourites to me. They'll get to the final comfortably, unless Messi does something truly extraordinary.

Interested to see how Pep picks up City for the Tottenham game. Tottenham will be full of the joys of spring at the moment.. Was a soul crushing loss for City. At least that is how it looks to a normal human like me. But Pep was always saying how winning the league means more. I can agree with this point of view. Might be surprising but there is something about beating a rival that was so close to you all season. So yeah. Interesting.

I think that is a kind description for United @Slice'n'dice . Cheers. :p
