I was reading that earlier. After looking at articles such as ''Manchester United, do they need to start from the ground up or are they just missing a peg or 2?'' Yeah, it's end of season for sure.

Jose doesn't really seem like that attractive of an option now but I still think he will rise again somewhere. You've already had him twice. If he did return, you're probably thinking it is only a matter of time and then the football style. He needs the right players for that style, right? Not the most flexible. He's a funny ol character, find him quite likeable at the minute. Maybe ego has decreased a bit since his stock is not what it was. In hindsight, I'd say he did a good job at United. Just have to keep myself in reality and realize we are not in an era with United dominating or anything You see how we ended up at the end of the season with the current squad. The comments he made about our second place finish look spot on now.

I saw that article too. It was a bit random! They had the top teams in there, then Brighton  bit niché.

Yeah Jose isn’t an option. I heard Benitez mentioned too, which is just lazy. Abramovich’s issue with Sarri was that some of the fans didn’t get on with him.. Benitez was hated by all Chelsea fans! He actually did pretty well at Chelsea, but he was never going to win over the fans.

It’s a straight choice between Lampard and Allegri I think. Lampard if they want to go with the youth option, Allegri if they want to carry on down the same path and win the odd trophy but be back to square one 2 years down the line. (Which is what I said Man Utd were doing when they appointed Mourinho, short term thinking that would result in an even bigger mess down the line).

Lampard gets my vote. Get that renaming of Stamford Bridge to the “Frank Lampard Stadium” going ;)

Frank is the only choice. The choice of a new generation. :p

Atletico Chief says Griezmann is off to Barcelona , So that means Barça is likely to pay the 120m release clause.

Real Madrid signs LB Ferland Mendy from Lyon for 48m + 5m bonus. 60m + 4 for Jovic , 100m for Hazard with bonus that could rise up to 30m more or beyond according to reports , 50m for Militao and 45m for Rodrygo. Last targets will be either Pogba/Eriksen , Most likely Pogba. Madrid is going insane

Always nice to get an easy lay up for the first game! Feels good seeing 3 points on the board early on, so I’m pleased with that.

I was worried we might get a promoted team who would be up for it and cause an upset.

Leicester as the second game could be trickier though

Sarriball on its way to Juventus. Says a deal has been reached.

Good sources have been saying De Ligt is close to PSG. Raiola was seen today in Paris negotiating with our sporting director

That's what I heard a couple of weeks ago about United. Silly me decided to believe this one was real. Still thinking he is on his way to Barcelona.

Atletico about to lose Rodri too cause he’s close to signing to City for 70m euros which is his release clause. Reports say Atletico are about to buy Joao Felix from Benfica

Nobody gives a shiit here, but the AFCON starts tomorrow and I think it's going to be a hell of a tournament because unlike last editions, it's organised in summer with all the African stars available.

My home country has a chance to win the whole thing which gives it an extra flavour :giggle:

Who’s your team?

Yes the winter edition was a bit frustrating, back in the day. Losing Drogba, Essien, Kalou etc.. for long periods wasn’t ideal.

I’ve no idea who the favourites are but I was impressed with Senegal at the World Cup last year. They’ve got some of the best players on the planet at a few positions (Mane, Koulibaly) and some very good players like Gueye.

I'm from Morocco.

And the favourites got to be Egypt because they have Salah and the home advantage.

Should be fun.

AFCON is sweet as long as your squad doesn't lose half its team.

Sarri press conference was nice. Talking like it is the biggest job in football and his crowning achievement.+34,000 Sims points. Wants to help Ronnie break more records.

I think there's a drinking game in there somewhere.

He's been linked with about 74 clubs now. Down a shot tomorrow when Arsenal enter the race :p

lol It seems for real this time. :p Sarri must be loving it. Gonna help Ronnie break more records. He will be hungry for it now, bring the champions league back to Juve.

I was flicking through the channels on hat trick ball today. I was reading that Afghanistan were in with a shot against India and I couldn't believe it. Eventually landed on the match. Scenes.

Yeah it was a great game! I was flicking between that and the F1. West Indies and New Zealand was tight in the late afternoon game too. The conditions are getting tricky now the pitches are getting worn down and the sun has finally made an appearance.

Bad news for England who are unbeatable on good pitches, but good news if you like tight, low scoring games or are an India fan. These slow, turning pitches must have them feeling like they're back at home.

See Samuel Eto'o saying Mo Salah should go to Barcelona. Haha good one, because so obviously Liverpool aren't fulfilling his ambitions in the actual best league in the world.

And of course I'm sure you could win the Ballon D'or playing in the same team as Lionel Messi.

Guess the former Chelsea and Everton man must've taken those teams into his heart.

Also don't Barca have an extra 100 million they have to pay on any transfer from Liverpool from the Coutinho deal? Think it might be running out soon but not yet.

Barca want their attack stacked now. Both Neymar and Griezmann are linked, the latter is definitely leaving his club. But they would have to sell a lot to finance those transfers.

Real and them won't be down for long.

So last night Suarez was trying to dribble past the keeper, very tight angle as they were right next to the goal line. When the goalkeeper blocked his attempt of a return ball, Suarez appealed for hand ball.:laughing:

So Rafa Benitez has left Newcastle, really feel for the fans, Mike Ashley ****s them again by not backing a manager of a quality far beyond their wildest dreams and he spurns it, difficult to imagine them staying up now. Can't imagine they'd get anyone of much quality to replace him (who'd want the job? Seriously) and they need a top manager to keep them up with that Championship level squad because they sure aren't going to be spending money.

Looking like the supposed takeover was just a smokescreen again, people like Mike Ashley are a cancer on football (and society as a whole frankly)

Looks like a fee has been agreed with United and Wan Bissaka. I haven't seen much of him at all, but I am pleased that a position we are struggling in gets filled by the number one target instead of the number five target.

If you would of spent an extra £10 Million, could you of got Two Bissaka instead of Wan?

The children are our future. Let them lead the way. That will be two younglings in this summer. Could this be new United? Sticking to a plan. I would definitely take Maguire now. Want this one just to beat City at something again. But nah, he isn't bad at all.

You must be hyped for Frank. Already an article on the same page talking about how he won't last long. So much negativity.

Could be! We're both in similar positions, only real difference is Chelsea can't sign players (and they wouldn't come even if there wasn't a transfer ban). Man Utd have been victims of their own allure I guess, they can sign all these big name players wanting huge salaries because they have the name and the money to do it. Hasn't really worked though. We've had to sign C list players because we can't attract the best.. and unsurprisingly after years of buying average players.. have become mediocre.

Only way out of it is to rip it all up and start from scratch. Young managers who understand the club and young players who are hungry and want to make a name for themselves. That's not to say Solskjaer and Lampard will have success or be there for 5+ years, but if either club is going to get back to where they want to be, they'll need to be the first chapter in the story.

We're set to get Pablo Sarabia from Sevilla who had a 40 goal contribution in 52 games for them with 13 goals + 13 assist in the league for 18m euros , His release clause jumps to 40m on July 1st and we want to get him before that , He's a CAM

Neymar replacement? ;)
I have seen the rumors , It's a story that the spanish media love to bring for attention. At the moment , I don't really know what's going on , But the things that are clear is that Neymar was a huge investment for us which hasn't worked for us so far , Neither on the pitch cause he has been injured a lot and at a brand level , It was a huge impact , But not at the level of a guy like Cr7. If Barcelona wants him , It's likely they will have to break our world record fee and go beyond to match an acceptable offer , He has 3 years left on his contract , He's on 36.7m per year , So you know he won't take such a big paycut , I doubt we will see him apogalizing for leaving and the lawsuit like it was reported. I saw that they wanted to offer 100m + Coutinho/Dembele which i wouldn't really be satisfied with , Unless Dembele can stay injury free and improve his finishing and become a World beater. On another subject , Sane will be the replacement i will like for LW

If Barca want a player, chances are high they will get him. The question is where do they find the money if they want both Neymar and Griezmann. The attack would be stacked as well. Suarez set to move to the bench?

Anyway, I bet @Tiki-Taka isn't pleased at all with either of the two rumors. :D

One of Dembélé/Coutinho will be sold, or perhaps both.

Lol United signing people I've never heard of for huge sums. The market is so inflated.

I won't complain if he turns out to be a good solution at right back. Sorting out the backline is the top priority. Losing out on Maguire. Says they are talking world record defender fee for selling him. Yeah, it is inflated market. The what players are worth doesn't really exist to me any more. Would I have paid 500k to sign Fred back in 1990? I'm not so sure. But now he is 50m player. Crazy.

Wasn't Dalot supposed to be good enough?

He was praised for his work going forward a lot last season. I think he will be another converted player. I'm not as against a defender being a winger compared to a winger being converted into a defender. Bale ended up alright. :p
