:love:Quarterfinals again , Almost forgot what it's like. First time Neymar is fit for both legs and he scores twice. Hopefully the team only gets stronger after this

Very impressive win for Atletico. It was very tough tbh , I didn't thought they could do it

It may be almost midnight here.

But this is what I see now when looking out the window.

I just didn't post it at first, sorry. :D It's Daniele Rugani.

At this rate Serie A will be cancelled completely.

First time i've heard from him in a few years! He agreed terms with Chelsea in 2018, I seem to remember.

Yeah It looks like a possibility. I think they're supposedly taking more measures today. Sounds like the Premier League could be played behind closed doors too, the announcement of moving to the phase that contains that measure is coming tomorrow. Apparently it'll cost the Premier League £3 Million a game and the TV companies will have to show the games on TV to stop people gathering in the pub or outside the stadium. That includes the 3pm Saturday games that have never been shown live in the UK. Not sure how it'll work, but I guess we'll be finding out.

Saint and Greavsie will make its return and then premier league games to be shown on BBC and ITV.

A Real Madrid basketball player was tested positive, while due to using the same sports center, their football team has been put in quarantine. La Liga has been suspended for the next two matchdays.

I shouldn't even joke about it. No more jokes.

But I will joke about other stuff.

Please tell me somebody else was listening to Michael Owen's post-match thoughts last night. It was his usual cringe turned up to the highest volume. Need to get him transferred to sky sports and have him on at the same time as Roy Keane.

''Those Atletico players will be in their dressing room thinking about how lucky they are and what amazing opposition Liverpool are. We've never played a better team than that.'' Trust me, it sounded so cringe the way he was talking. Do agree with the point about other teams licking their lips now because Liverpool is out. 2 finals in a row, defending champions and tearing the premier league to shreds. Yeah, I'd go along with that point.

Now that would be something :p

Turns out they're not playing in empty stadiums after all, things will continue as normal for the time being.

Apparently Leicester players might have it now, same for someone at Chelsea. They've cancelled training as someone is showing symptoms. Young Billy Gilmour has described the situation as "disappointing, so it was".

Fred with the undisputed pass of the season leaving Mata with a simple finish.

Yep, a few weeks ago Fred would have played the square pass instead of forward. (y)

Arteta down

Hudson-Odoi the first player in the Premier League.

How are they planning on playing games tomorrow? Crazy.

All English competitions suspended until early April. Next week fixtures in Champions League and Europa League, as well as the quarterfinal draws, have been postponed.

Among the biggest leagues only the Germans haven't stopped yet.

The right move, I think.

We’ve got to take any positive we can in these strange times. At this rate Chelsea will still be playing in the Champions League in May for the first time in years!

Also, while we wait for football to resume, we won't have to deal with all the international breaks? :p

Poor betting addicts won't have anything to do in the next few weeks.

Though I might underestimate them, they probably follow the third Bangladeshian league and some others that aren't cancelled yet.

Betting on the Bangkok arm wrestling with their weakest arm competition. Somehow it found a way to not be postponed.

Life finds a way to get in the way of United's upcoming return to greatness.

jk, I believe I would have done this if I had control of the situation. Playing in front of no fans is no good. It's now affecting everyday life here because the kids have been told no school for the next whatever. Best wishes to everybody. Stay safe.

What a mess. How they going to sort that out? Not finishing the season till after next season has already started, players out of contract etc.. I'd say just cancel this season, but that doesn't solve the finances for smaller sides, relegation/promotion/european spots etc.. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Heavy gamblers with betting accumulators that have absolutely no chance of winning will think they have a chance to get their money back.

Hard to say what will happen since something this extreme has not happened before in my lifetime. I've no idea.

I couldn't even feel great satisfaction when I found out Bruno Fernandes was player of the month for February. Not just United's player of the month, the league. Then today you hear the grand national is off. I'm not a horse racing guy but the grand national is the biggest race in the whole galaxy, right? Wrong but it is the biggest horse race and the only time I'd ever watch as a kid was with my Granda, despite him going back and forward to the bookies every Saturday. Just brings up little memories.

All I can do is watch some old football docs, old fights or whatever. The feeling of emptiness with not reading the same transfer rumours again and again. But if it all leads to getting the lid on this thing then yay to that. (y)

Sport has always been a huge part of my life. Football, obviously. Waking up as a kid at 2am to see England get hammered by Australia throughout the '90's, the summer Test matches, the Australian GP every March being the signal that winter was ending, Wimbledon meant my birthday was coming up etc.. The tough times in life, sport was always there to escape to. It's really weird not having it, they've done the right thing but still, it probably feels more strange to not have it than the actual chaos that's going on.

Ahh well, tomorrow would of been the day we beat Bayern 4-0 in Germany for an epic comeback on the way to our second Champions League title. Leicester would of been easily brushed aside on Saturday on our way to Frank's first trophy, the FA Cup. Hamilton would of won the first F1 race of the season last weekend, he'd be backing it up in Bahrain this weekend too, i'm sure. Even just thinking about those brings a smile to the face, makes the hairs stand up on the back of the neck a bit. I guess sport is still playing it's part, even when it's gone.

Big Fifa tournament going on. I guess the United players suck at Fifa. Should get Goldbridge in for some Fifa motivation.

''Manchester City, Ajax, Roma and Sydney FC are among an international array of football clubs to have signed up for an impromptu mass FIFA 20 tournament organised by Leyton Orient.

As football was widely halted over the weekend due to the coronavirus outbreak, several clubs' social media accounts offered their own imaginative ways of filling the inevitable void from the sport, including Connect Four games.

On Sunday evening, League Two side Leyton Orient challenged 63 other teams to join them in a knock-out FIFA 20 tournament - but an overwhelming response has led that to expand to a 128-club field, called #UltimateQuaranTeam.

Each club will choose a representative - whether it be a first-team player or a club fan - for their team and will play as their side on FIFA. ''

Townsend is stepping up for Crystal Palace.

I would expect more pros. I will keep my eyes on the tournament. Just wish I liked Fifa. Mentioned a billion times that Pro Evo was my game. If they could bring out anything up to PES 6 then I'd happily sign up and play for United. :p

As expected, Euro is postponed to summer of 2021.

I wonder what is going to happen with the domestic leagues and Champions League/Europa League though. La Liga president feels optimistic that we will complete ours, but I don't see that happening myself. Not in this moment at least...

One of those seemed like a good idea at the time situations. Of course, you could say that about a lot of things that won't happen now but just because the multi hosting idea was so ''radical, dude.''

Can't even think that far ahead. I wonder where it will be held now.

Lost the daily habit of checking the schedules and scores. Hope this won't continue beyond the whole summer too...

I really don't know what they're going to do. They seem determined to finish this season, but i'm not sure how they can without it having a debilitating effect on next season. Then immediately after that ends you've got the Euro's (which should be cancelled full stop imo), followed by another season straight on the back of that.. with a winter World Cup in the middle of the season! It would be madness.

I think this season needs to be written off, or else it's going to be effecting the game negatively for years to come. Not sure if that means we move forward with the positions we have now (Liverpool being Champions, top 4 as it stands get CL, bottom 3 relegated etc..), or the season is void and nobody wins the title, last years top 4 go to the Champions League and the bottom 3 get lucky and have another year in the Premier League.

Class move by Bundesliga’s Champions League squads to collectively pledge €20MM to help support other struggling franchises in Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in an effort to keep the league’s afloat after the crisis.

Have or will the other leagues follow suit???

I wasn't aware they were giving up wages to help other clubs? I thought the players were accepting lower wages (20%) so the money could be used to help employees at their respective clubs. The cleaners, the chefs, hospitality workers, match day stewards etc.. The people on "normal" salaries who need it more than the multi millionaire players do, essentially.

But yes, it sounds like English football will be doing the same. Some clubs have already done it and it looks like they all will on April 3rd when the meeting to thrash it out is taking place.

Not sure about the other leagues around Europe, I've heard Barcelona players aren't happy, but they were asked to accept a 70% wage cut, which is obviously a lot more than the 20% in Germany. I'm guessing Barcelona will come on board, but at a figure closer to the German one.

The franchises themselves are directing their share of national broadcast revenues and kick in more of their own money to reach that €20MM pledge. Read it on the Beeb Sports website.

The report also states Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and his wife have pledged €1MM, two teammates of his have added another €1MM together and Man City’s winger Sane (a German) is a big donor. All these pledges are to fight the virus’ general impact, unlike the franchises’ pledges that will go to other clubs to help keep them afloat.

The individual footballers and directors at Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are accepting pay cuts to address shortfalls in staff funding. No word about the other two franchises RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen

I was always wondering about the world cup in 2022 and the adjustments for that. Time of the year it gets played at etc, being played during the season. Of course, I would have never thought I'd be queuing up outside to get a packet of ham and some oranges before that.

I know it will seem so harsh to Liverpool, they are the top example since premier league is my league, but I could not award them the season with the amount of games we have remaining. Then when you think about the other clubs, Villa have played game less than teams above them. A win in that game takes them out of the relegation zone. So, do you make it one rule for one team and another for another? I don't see how it could work.

All good points, I’m guessing teams would take it to the courts if the season were to be voided, which would be a mess. Then again, if they complete the season you’ll have players playing out of contract, shirt sponsorships changing whilst the season is still going on, same for shirt manufacturers, would probably mean the cup competitions would be cancelled next season (to make up for no off/pre season). That’s how a lot of smaller sides make their money, glamorous FA Cup ties. Not to mention the knock on effect it will have for years to come.

I’m glad I’m not making the decision! It’s an impossible situation.
