It’s been much more evenly played in the second half with Leeds making offensive subs Provera and Rodrigo and taking it to MC. Ederson made a key mistake on a missed punch out on a corner that Rodrigo converted. The MC tender made up for it minutes later when he stretched high to deflect a Rodrigo strike onto the crossbar and over for the Leeds corner kick. 1-1 with 10 minutes left.

The draw in Leeds was well earned by the promoted side. They will avoid relegation for a good while with this type of competitive level.

Manchester United looking to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer.

Won't mask the failure of signing Sancho in this transfer window. But if he contributes on the pitch and help the youngsters around him it can turn out to be a decent deal. Like Ibrahimovic to a lesser extent.

United getting a penalty 30 seconds in but concedes due to comedic defending.

Good luck against PSG in the Champions League with this defence. :censored:

Can't decide which I enjoyed more..

Gary Neville squirming whilst Man Utd got hammered 6-1

or..

Jamie Carragher whining for 90 minutes whilst Liverpool got taken down 7-2

I don't understand why Messi can't get involved more. He was in the shadows until the match was almost over.

He has no motivation anymore, the club sapped all his drive and passion. He clearly doesn’t wanna be there.

As for United and Liverpool - Key difference is that this can be seen as a write off for Liverpool. They did just beat Chelsea and Arsenal in the league not long ago. This feels like a long time coming for United, years of neglecting the squad and manager and its led to a former manager (who shouldn’t have even been sacked) spanking his former employers by 6. It’s the ultimate embarrassment.

Yikes, CR7 caught Covid as well who's next. o_O

Imagine sending the best players in the World to the four corners of the globe
in the middle of a global pandemic... to play a couple of friendlies and games in a tournament nobody cares about..

The League's have only played 3-4 games and they've already had two international breaks. It's madness.

Pickford is a lucky one, avoided conceding a penalty and getting sent off from an offside and a howler ruled out by a minimal offside by VAR.

Clinical late in the game, 3 goals in the last 9 minutes. Fernandes missed his first penalty in forever but made up for it with two involvements.

Milan the only Italian team with a perfect 4/4 at the start of Serie A. Nice to see..

Real and Barca competing who is worse between them by the looks of things. Both lost today with El Clasico next week.

Utd are gonna get sucked into a relegation battle soon enough.

Good result/performance for both teams, I think.

Chelsea starting to look better at the back with the new additions settling in and two clean sheets against two of the top 10-12 sides in Europe (Sevilla and Man Utd). Man Utd not losing their momentum and stopping the rot of poor results at Old Trafford.

Everyone keeps saying Chelsea need to find the balance, can't understand why it's not there etc.. It's pretty simple.. it's Kante. How long is it going to to take for people to realise? I've been saying it on here for years. He's a liability in possession, we miss out on 5-8 attacks a game by his inability on the ball - which in turn leaves us over committed and susceptible on the break (we've conceded the 16th most goals in the League over the past 18 months, whilst facing the 2nd fewest shots.. this is one of the main reasons for that bizarre stat). His lack of ability on the ball means we can't keep hold of it against good sides, which is a big issue.

The game changed 17 years ago with that Barcelona side, the carousel (as Fergie called it), where their midfielders could all operate with quick feet, quick passes in the smallest of spaces. Every good side since then has the same qualities. Love Kante the man, not a fan of the player at all.

Another pleasant surprise, 5-0 win over Bundesliga leaders and last season's semifinalists Leipzig. Doing well against Basaksehir in the next two games will pretty much seal early progress from a tough group.

If I only followed CL, I would have thought it's a joke if you told me Man United are 15th in the league now.

If you were impressed by the great start with several unexpected results in the Premier League, check out our table going into the international break as well.

Atlético haven't had a better chance for the title than this in a long time, while it's also nice to see Sociedad and Villarreal showing glimpses of their glory days too. Only thing missing is Deportivo La Coruña competing at the top as well, but sadly they now play not one but couple of tiers below La Liga.

Not expecting us to come out victorious this season at all but from a neutral's perspective it's shaping up quite nicely. If the officiating can be decent like today when three penalties were given against Real Madrid :p (although it's sad that VAR was still needed for all of them) then there is a chance of someone else winning this season.

I was surprised to see Real Madrid so high! Every time I hear about them, they seem to be losing.

It feels to me like this season hasn't really got going yet, I think this is the 3rd International break of the season? Most sides have only played around 7 league games! Hard to get in the rhythm of things when you're having a two week International break every couple of games.

I imagine things will start to fall into place for the bigger sides either side of Christmas.

We both know how it goes, all hell breaks loose whenever they enter bad form even for a moment. :p

International breaks, while teams that participated in the Champions League and Europa League back in August started this season a week later than others. Occasional positive coronavirus tests haven't helped either...

That's true! You'd like it here in the UK, we only hear about Madrid when bad things are happening :p another loss, Hazard has turned up 10kg overweight, Zidane facing the sack, sold Reguilon because Zidane's son had an argument with him etc..

Yeah when you think there's usually 5-6 pre-season games, we're only just past that mark in the league. It's not surprising that many teams haven't quite got things going yet. As for the International breaks, who in their right mind thought it was sensible to have all these players flying off to the 4 corners of the globe during a global pandemic? It's madness.

Looks like I really was carrying this thread. :p Just wanted to say hello. Much going on out in the big bad world. Man Utd is the same as always. Some great highs but always rubbish round the corner. One day you're thinking the no winger diamond is the second coming and then the next game it is like they never played with each other before. It's just the United way. Very exciting. And at the end of everything, Sancho doesn't come. So comical.

Yes, I'd agree with both. lol

Jack Grealish is the latest player to prove that I don't know **** about football. He;s been amazing so far this season. I think back to when we were linked with him and Ole desperately wanted him but I just wasn't seeing it. I thought he was just another one of those over hyped jobs. Paul Merson made a comment about him probably being the closest talent wise to Gazza. High praise and doesn't really feel overboard at the minute. Now he is supposedly the top of Man City shopping list.

Welcome back!

I'm starting to think Man Utd might of got lucky with Sancho. Great talent, but I get the impression he believes in his own hype, more interested in the celebrity side of the game etc..

As for Chelsea being title contenders, they've had the best defensive record in the league over the last 6 weeks. If they can keep that going? It's hard to imagine them not pushing City or Liverpool all the way. If the silly mental errors creep back in? No chance.

Thank you, Sir. Yeah, we kept hearing the crticism about all the goals Chelsea conceded, now they are not conceding any. Like Daniel says on Cobra Kai, all about finding that balance. :p

I'm not really sure about Sancho. Maybe he did have his heart set on United for some reason. He will have to get over that. Then we saw the diamond at United. It looked like the second coming for one match and then next match we are rotten against Arsenal.

Lampard got a load of stick when they were conceding goals for fun, now he's getting praise for fixing it.. It's not rocket science, it's just a case of signing better players who don't make multiple dumb errors every game

I think the role of the modern manager is just that.. managing players. Creating the right atmosphere, broad game plan etc.. the biggest impact they have is team selection and having a hunch on who to bring on, and when.. in order to turn a game. Most of the game is down to the players, being switched on mentally, getting an understanding and chemistry together etc.. If they take the responsibility and have a bit of pride about themselves, any manager is going to look good.

Solskjaer gets grief, but i'm not really sure what he can do at this point. That Europa League game was shocking how bad it was, but i'm pretty sure the shocking defending wasn't his game plan. The problem he has is that the players hold the power and if they keep switching off and not holding themselves accountable, it's going to be the manager who gets the chop.

Frank has realised that defending comes first.

Thiago Silva is making the old boss question the decision to let him go on a free one. Of course, if they did actually let him go. Maybe he wanted the new challenge. I see he has looked great for the most part. He was the signing that impressed me most at the time. You talk about mistakes. It looks like Mendy has sorted you out as well. He doesn't look to be making any mistakes. De Gea has upped his game this season. For what that is worth.

I'm watching the game against Newcastle now. Looks like a bit of a walk in the park. Yeah, more than just a bit. haha. Another piece of excellence from Werner. I knew he would be a hit on the greatest league. Another win.

United are unpredictable as ever. Or maybe that is me using a cover up word for inconsistent as ever. In one game they look like world beaters then the next they look like Dover. Or Ben Dover. :p Roy Keane going on about their faces telling him they don't care.

The Thiago impact is what i'd hoped. Not just for his individual performances, it's the impact he's had on Zouma, who's been brilliant. That knock on effect has meant Rudiger knows he has to keep the standards high when he comes in (which he has been doing), we haven't seen much of Tomori but i'd like to think he's been learning a few things from the old master in training.

Yeah Newcastle away, 12.30 Saturday kick off, they had two weeks to prepare whilst the Chelsea players went off to the four corners of the earth playing international games.. It was a recipe for disaster, but it was a fairly straight forward win. Should of been 6 or 7, but 2-0 is fine by me.

It's funny, this Chelsea team feels like Lampard. His personality, the way he played, the great teams he was part of etc.. I think that's the recipe for Solskjaer. He was part of great Man Utd sides, a role player, hard worker etc.. If he can stamp that onto Man Utd, they'll be laughing.

People say the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Leicester don't have the consistency to challenge for the title.

I'd agree with that last season when Liverpool and City were flawless throughout, this season both have a bit more inconsistency themselves.

I say it's going to be wide open this year.

Since Jose brags even after average results, imagine him if Spurs win the league. Part of me wants to see that. :-D

Man Utd are consistent to be fair.

Their form is consistent for a team involved in a relegation battle :-D

Nah, they'll get it together eventually. There's only been half a dozen league games so far, the seasons barely even started. The late start and 6 weeks of internationals in 2 months makes it feel like we've been going for a lot longer than we actually have.
