forzainter,

Do you want to be a member? It would be great to have an Inter supporter, as I originally envisaged this club's members as representing sides from the diverse leagues and best footballing countries in the world, and not just the Premier league.

Sure, why not

Arsenal needs Cesc back..soon.

They do. Eboue and Denilson is a seriously weak central midfield duo.

I remember Arsenal were looking to get Torsten Frings from Bremen earlier in the summer, I think him and Fabregas in the middle would be brilliant.

Word about Fabregas. Arsenal just can't cope without him. Nasri looked OK, but he's too inexperinced in the prem to carry Arsenal all by himself. I agree about Frings, he'd be great!

Another transfer update:

Andreiy Schevchenko to Milan.
Price: Undisclosed.

Yeah, Fabregas is just so experienced and he's only 21!

Shevchenko out and Robinho in maybe? That'd be good, plus it may soften Milan up to let go of Kaka next year ;)

Argentina 1 : 0 Nigeria :-D

not a bad game, some would say an expected result

did you see the one shot where riquelme got hit on the back of the head with the ball when he was running towards the goal , lol :-D

nigeria did not play too bad either, it could have been worse for them i suppose if they tried to attack more, leaving more open spaces for messi

City were immense today, great play throughout the game. The addition of Jo next week will only make everything better. However, Richards' injury looked pretty serious and without him out there the central defence gets much weaker. Corluka can cover that up for a while but he is obviously much better from the wing.

Overall good play and should be able to take another win next week against Sunderland.

I was listening in the car on the way back from Wigan and it sounded like Kompany had a great debut, i'm sure he'll do a good job if Richards is out for a length of time.

Not convinced about Jo though if i'm honest, all the big clubs had a look but never really fancied him. Petrov and Elano will create alot for him though so he could do well, we'll see.

I'll tell you what happened:

Jimmy Bullard Bullard
He's better than Steve Gerrard
He's fitter than Frank Lampard
Jimmy Bullard Bullard

Arsenal looked like Sh1t, Ad3bayor showed he's real form (can't score to save his life), midfield was non-existent, Ednilson looked like he was playing for Fulham, and let me tell you, it could have been worse, it soo made my day.

You can take comfort in the fact that the scum lost too (looks like he's a Juan hit wonder)

Phillippe Senderos to Milan on a one year loan deal, and Milan has the option to buy him at the end of this season.

Arsne, what the hell are you doing? You've said you're not going to buy anymore players, yet you loose and then turn around and get rid of defenders? Got one last trick up your sleave do you?

Another transfew update: Real Madrid have offered either 47 Million Euros (So says Marca) or 48 Million Euros (According to AS) to Valencia for striker David Villa. EDIT: Valencia have rejected the bid, which was confirmed by both clubs to be about 47.1 Million Euros

Come on Roman, you can top that easily. We need him. Go get him, and you can sign all the Brazilians you want next summer or in January. COME ON ROMAN, GO OUT AND SIGN DAVID VILLA, HE'S WILL BE AWESOME!

Senderos might be crap, but he's still younger than Silvestre, much younger. He's still got time to get somewhat better. Silvestre is crap, and won't get better. Hell, he won't get playing time.

Alright, here is this morning's transfer updates:

~Tottenham Hotspur's valuation of striker Dimitar Berbatov WILL NOT drop below 30 Million, according to ESPN. Spurs are willing to let Berbatov "rot in the reserves" before they sell him for under 30 Million.

~According to multiple Spanish and English reports, Chelsea have lodged an official bid to Valencia for David Villa, and it looks as if a deal for Robinho has indeed been reached, according to Marca.

~The agent of Swiss midfielder Gokan Inler has confirmed his client has rejected the chance to join Arsenal, claiming "it was too early in the player's career to sign for such a big club" A fee had been agreed to between the two clubs, but the player rejected the chance to join Arsenal.

That's it. I'll update later...

Transfer update:

Robinho looks set to go to Chelsea, according to multiple Spanish sources, for around 35 Million Euros. The Spanish champions look set to accept the bid, and in turn use the cash to purchase Diego Capel of Sevilla and Klass-Jans Huntelaar of Ajax. However, Valencia have already made an official inquirey to Ajax concerning Huntelaar (according to MARCA) in the ever-more-likely case that David Villa leaves.

BREAKING NEWS: Russian Striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will complete a move to Spurs, according to English and Russian media. The player himself confirmed this about 1 1/2 hours ago. Pending a work visa, he will be in the side to face Chelsea on Saturday.

As a Spurs fan, all I can say is, PLEASE let this be true:!: ... and if we could have Arshavin also that might go some way to beginning to compensate for Keane and (probably) Berbatov's departure - although quite how good these 2 can be compared to who they are replacing remains to be seen. Quite why we've gone and dismantled and sold/are about to sell our very successful strike-force leaving us with virtually no-one but the unconvincing and highly expensive Bent - and I'd also add Rocha, Boeteng, Gilberto and a few more flops I've forgotten about since Camoli brought them in - is an incomprehensible mystery known only unto those who run the scene at White Heart Lane these days.

Feña14

G.O.A.T.
Pavlyuchenko will be good, certainly a replacement for Berbatov as they are very similar (although not when it comes to attitude ;))

I'm a bit surprised Chelsea didn't look into getting him as he's a big centre forward which we need now we are only left with an injury plagued Drogba and an Anelka who isn't cutting it.

Also in the papers this morning, Kaka seems to be unhappy with the way AC Milan are going with bringing in Senderos (he has a point) and Ronaldinho as he doesn't agree with his life style. When you also consider Milan are only in the UEFA Cup this year and the Premier League is the place to be (with one of the top 3 sides in the world at the moment, managed by the person who gave him his chance in the Brazilian national side wanting you) you can see why he's after a move to London.

Scolari also seems to want Fabiano for £18 Million. I think he'd spend more time in the stands serving his long bans than on the pitch though ;)

Alonsin: Real Madrid

I'm not too optimistic for this season. We haven't signed anyone new except for Van der Vaart, and we have bought back De la Red and Javi Garcia, who are young promises, though De la Red played for Spain at the Euro and has more experience. We might win la Liga again, but for the Champions we need a couple of new players.

Our strikers are fine but too old to endure the whole season without injuries. Van Nistelrooy and Raul complement each other very well but Van Nistelrooy is very prone to injuries lately. Higuain has a great future but he doesn't score too many goals. We really need some reinforcement there, and I think Villa will be the right choice. If Robinho finally signs with Chelsea, I've no doubt that Villa will come to Madrid.

I'm not too worried about Robinho's departure. He's very talented but he doesn't understand football as a team game, same as Ronaldo, who I'm happy didn't come to RM. I think he's not strong enought to succeed in the Premier League, which is much more physical than la Liga. If Robben doesn't get injured (which will be a miracle) and Drenthe continues his progression we'll do OK in that place. They are trying to sign Cazorla (from Villareal) or Capel (from Sevilla) I think it'll be very convenient

Our midfield is quite strong. Guti, even though he's not too constant is a true magician and my favourite player, so no complaints there. He's more centered recently, which is all he needed. Sneijder (injured until December) and Van der Vaart are great players, and so is De la Red, but he's not very good coping with the pressure, so we'll see how he does, even though it's still not 100% sure he'll remain in the team. I'm not a great fan of Gago or Diarra, especially the latter, but they defend and keep the position, which is necesary.

The defense is our weakest line. Ramos, Pepe and Heinze are great, but Marcelo, Cannavaro, Metzelder, Salgado and Torres are totally unreliable. One or two long injuries and we are doomed, the same that happened last yaer against Rome.

Our goalkeeper is a saint. I don't think I need to say anymore

I don't support anymore teams besides Liverpool. I love their history, the legend of Anfield and of course Fernando Torres, who's my favourite spanish players

alonsin

Rookie
Do you love your club's history?

I do, of course. I know you don't like Real Madrid or Spain, and I really don't care. But before you say something about RM's history get your facts right. I could understand you said RM was favoured by the spanish referees in la Liga, but how could the spanish government rig the European Champion Clubs' Cup is beyond my understanding.

Edit: I just re-read my post and I have to precise that what I said is in response to some post from SempreSami from a while ago in which he said that RM only started to win things after the Civil War because it was Franco's team. That statement is not true so I'm going to correct it.

First of all, RM won la Liga in 1932 and 1933. Second of all RM didn't win any national championship after the civil war until 1953, which is the year Di Stefano arrived to the club. That mean that for 14 years after the Civil War RM didn't win a thing, while Barcelona won 5 titles. Then Di Stefano arrived and everything changed, RM won several leagues and 5 consecutive European's Cup.

After the Civil War Spain was poor. The goverment needed something to show the people they were doing ok. Once RM started to win the spanish governments started to make RM triumphs like if it were they own. I am obviously not in favour of a totalitariam regime like the one we had, but I don't think any of the RM fans should be embarrased of its history. RM started to be big because of an extraordinary group of players commanded by Di Stefano and an outstanding president, Santiago Bernabeu. If later RM was favoured by the goverment it was just a consequence of their success, never a cause.

By the way, I think your team has a very beautiful history. But I'm sure if you ask supporters from other teams they will say that the referees favour ManU. All the big teams receive a favourable treatment from the umpires, not only RM.

Alright, here's this morning's transfer updates.

~Goal.comSpain, the BBC and MARCA have all confirmed that Chelsea have made a take-it-or-leave it bid for Robinho valued at 37.3 Million Euros.

~AS reports that Real Madrid made a counter-bid for David Villa after Valencia rejected Real's initial bid of 37.1 Million Euros. Neither club would say what the second bid was valued at, but was immediately rejected.

~Tottenham Hotspur has made their signing of Russian Striker Roman Pavlyuchenko official. No word on wether he's due to play against Chelsea on Saturday, though.

~Word on the street (atleast among US-based footy sites) is that Middlesboro are seriously looking to sign holding midfielder Michael Bradley. Bradley was the second highest scorer in the Dutch League (I'm not even not even going to try to spell it's offical name, way too confusing!), despite playing a role deep into the defense.

~My english friend says he heard that Liverpool have lodged an official bid for Stuart Downing of Middlesboro. Not sure on the amount of money involved, but it's safe to say if he leaves, Bradley will indeed join.

~Want-away Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry looks set to stay with his current team, according to Goal.com The Liverpool target was offered a new contract, and is all set to stay.

That's all I could find this morning, if anyone hears ANYTHING please post it!

Which Mendes? There's like a million of 'em.

Anyway, Peter Kenyon has confirmed that Chelsea will reveal Robinho as their newest player on Wednesday.

Also, according to ESPNSoccernet, David Villa has signed a new 6 year contract extending his deal at the Mestalla until 2014.

And Johnny: This might be a bit early, but good luck to your lot in the Old Firm on Saturday. I'll be watching.

Pedro Mendes! The ex Portsmouth player, the one that got knocked out by Thatcher lol.

It looks like the Robinho deal isn't as certain as first thought. Santi Cazorla wants to stay at Villareal and David Villa has signed a 6 year deal at Valencia.. both players were being lined up as replacements for Robinho so maybe it won't go through afterall. Although, with Guti, Robben, Van Der Vaart, De La Red and Sneijder already there I don't really think it should be too much of an issue.

Nope, not today. Looks like he's still on until Jaunary. Maybe not though, we've got 3 more days of madness.

I did find this though:

Full Champions League draw: (thanks to the BBC)

Group A
Chelsea
Roma
Bordeaux
CFR Cluj

Group B
Inter Milan
Werder Bremen
Panathinaikos
Anorthosis Famagusta

Group C
Barcelona
Sporting Lisbon
Basel
Shakhtar Donetsk

Group D
Liverpool
PSV Eindhoven
Marseille
Atletico Madrid

Group E
Manchester United
Villarreal
Celtic
Aalborg

Group F
Lyon
Bayern Munich
Steaua Bucharest
Fiorentina

Group G
Arsenal
Porto
Fenerbahce
Dynamo Kiev

Group H
Real Madrid
Juventus
Zenit St Petersburg
Bate Borisov

Not a bad draw, it looks as if Group E or Group D will be the Group of Death. Here's what I think:

A
1st: Chelsea
2nd: Roma

B
1st: Inter Milan
2nd: Werder Bremen

C
1st: Barcelona
2nd: Sporting Lisbon

D
1st: Liverpool
2nd: Atletico Madrid

E
1st: Manchester United
2nd: Celtic (really tough call)

F
1st: Bayern Munic
2nd: Lyon (again, this is a tough call, if Benzema hits top form Lyon will go through, if not, Fiorentina will take it)

G
1st: Arsenal
2nd: Fenerbache (if Quaresma is in good form, they'll overtake Fenerbache. Again, a really close call)

H
1st: Real Madrid
2nd: Juventus

Agree with my picks? Or do you think I'm an idiot? LET ME KNOW!
