Here we go, folks. This is going to be the 8th overall match between these two, with Daniil leading the H2H by 5-2 so far. However, Rublev has won 2 of the last 3 contests between these two at Cincinnati 2021 SF and ATP Finals 2022 RR, both in deciding sets.

At the slam level however, Rublev has yet not made it past a QF, including back to back straight set losses against Medvedev at this very stage, in 2020 USO & 2021 AO.

In the previous round, Medvedev cane back from a set down to beat Alex De Minaur in 4 sets, while Rublev dropped the 2nd set en route to his 4 set win against Jack Draper.

How do you see this match unfolding? Do you see Rublev breaking this Slam QF losing streak of his? Or will it be yet another win for the more experienced Russian yet again? Discuss and vote.

I would like for Rublev to win and break his quarterfinals curse! (; I really like Medvedev but I would honestly rather have Carlos play Rublev (and yes, I know Carlos has to make it past Zverev first) albeit I do believe that Carlos can win against either of them in the semis and most likely would do so.

Meh. Medvedev is essentially a walkover for Alcaraz if they meet. That IW final and that Wimbledon SF were total destructions. Can't see any major difference this time, unless Medvedev drastically changes his game style.
A Alcaraz-Rublev first match would be more interesting IMO.

I don’t mind who wins. Daniil is definitely the favourite but I would like to see Andrey reach a semi in a slam for once. It will be interesting to see how it goes as they are such close friends.

Both after Djokovic are my favourite players on the tour. I will certainly enjoy this one and don’t mind who wins. I love both guy’s personalities and their tennis games too.

I like Rublev, but Medvedev is going to take this one. His form has gotten better, and it was impressive how he got rid of ADM.

In IW slowest hard, grass is also unpleasant surface for Medvedev. Of course Alcaraz would be favorite in their match here, but I don't think it will be easy this time.
Yeah to be fair. Meddy got Alcaraz on the worst HC event for him. If he would take a place to face him it probably would be here because he’s won before and played his best tennis here.

Let’s see because both have tricky games to get there first.

Rublev is 0-8 in QF's at Grand Slams. This is his 4th QF at the USO. Can this 9th QF GS finally be the one where he breaks through and wins??? I can just enjoy this match, doesn't make any difference to me who wins, I like Medvedev more but kind of rooting for Rublev just because of this 0-8 record in QF's! :)

same here if Rubles fails then we got to write him off as a journeyman

It's not physics, Medvedev in four. Although he seems so grim these days. Lighten up Medvedev, everyone loves your sense of humor, where is it in New York? You used it so well after Nadal and you kicked Djokovic here. What's to worry?

Meddy is not a fan of the sun in almost Novak Hatovic fashion, so this half-closed roof deal will benefit him big time.

Me hoping Medvedev doesn’t defile the US Open SFs with his presence again:

Still though don’t see Rublev winning this. Medvedev will encircle him and break his confidence somewhere in the 3rd set as usual.

De Miñaur started in similar fashion vs Meddy.

I am telling myself this so as not to get my hopes up here.
lol u have morphed into a professional Meddy hater you really would rather see Rublev get smashed in the semis than have the chance of an interesting match
