Nadal has Thiem, Anderson, del Potro, Tsitsipas (sorry but I think he's awesome), Isner, Wawrinka

Federer has Cilic, Zverev, Djokovic, Kyrgios??,

Are we all so certain it's going to be a cake walk for Rafa?

Thiem - useless on HC and he’s a pigeon for Rafa outside of M1000s anyway
Anderson - LOL
Del Potro - fitness in doubt and never seems to trouble Rafa
Tsistipas - just a kid. Not developed as a player yet
Isner - this ain’t grass
Wawrinka - only one you listed who could surprise Rafa

So the only actual player in the US Open is Djokovic. Is that what this entire board is trying to say?

Isner could actually be a threat on USO HC.
delpo is dead even vs nadal on HC - 5 all. if he plays like wim 18 QF (not like USO 17 or RG 18), he's a threat

you can throw out thiem and tsitsipas , I think ..Anderson beating Nadal would be a huge surprise...but higher chance in a slam QF than a slam F of course.

Probably the only player who can beat Rafa unless Rafa gets injured for real.

I expect a Djokodal final but maybe grandpa Fed has us all fooled.

Anderson will be hungry for revenge and to show he can play with the big guys. Can he pull a Wawa AO 14 performance?

Wawrinka is mental demon. Can’t compare him to a literal mental midget like Anderson.
But Wawa sort of came out of nowhere in 2014, didn't he? He had lost so many times to the big guys I didn't expect him to beat Nadal. But yeah, can't really see Anderson doing anything like that.

With exception of del Potro, this is fair. I don’t see why delpo couldn’t beat Rafa.

Maybe I’m being harsh. Just don’t have faith in the big guy unless Fed is on the other side of the net. :D

I don't know, Nadal isn't exactly immune to a bad day outside of clay but we will see. He will be very satisfied with what he got.

Uncle Toni redawn

on second glance it's not that easy of a draw, Del Potro, Thiem, Murray, Isner, Wawrinka, Dimitrov, anyone of these players can have a heyday

Lol. Nadal leads the H2H over Djokovic at the US Open. So Djokovic losing before the final is not a sine qua non condition for Nadal to win the US Open.
2-1 is such a huge lead
My god Djoker can never overcome such a huge lead .
Although Djoker is what 16-7 h2h on hard court versus Rafa .
You talk as if Rafa is 11-1 versus Djoker at USO
Btw Djoker is the most consistent player at USO after Lendl..

Djokovic only leads 1-0 at the Australian Open and 2-1 at Wimbledon. Double standard logic?

Also, we are talking about H2H in GS, not in Masters 1000 or WTF. The H2H in Masters 1000 and WTF is not necessarily indicative of what happens in GS. Otherwise, Djokovic would not have a losing H2H of 1-6 at Roland Garros against Rafa.

Do you understand the differwnce between meating tough players every round from R3 R4 QF SF and F

And the difference of having some tough players YET they will all face each other before they face you, so you basically only face 1 of them.

You don't seem to understand how the draw works. Let me explain:

First of all, Wawrinka has Dimitrov in R1 and is highly unlikely, given his recent form that he will prevail. Even if Wawa does win, he still has to go through (most likely) Raonic in R3 then possibly Isner in R4. Now an interesting R4 clash could be Tsitsipas vs Delpo and the winner of that will most likely face either Raonic/Dimitrov/Wawrinka/Isner in the QF. So only one of those names that you mentioned will/may get to Rafa in the SF.

Now looking at Nadal's quarter, he has a perfect warm-up match with Ferrer, then possibly a slight contest with Kachanov in R3, but I expect Rafa to win that in 3 tightish sets. Rafa then should make clean work of Edmund in R4. Not sure why you even brought up Thiem. In any case, assuming Thiem will play to his clay standards and gets to R4, he will most likely meet Anderson there. Bye-Bye Thiem. So now we're looking at a possible QF Nadal-Anderson. Capish?

Fed would potentially play Nishioka, Paire, Kyrgios, Fognini, Djokovic
Nadal would potentially play Pospisil, Muller, Edmund, Anderson, Del Potro

I like Nadal's matchups a lot more than Fed's.
Nadal is pretty comfortable vs all of those guys.
DelPo is dangerous but he's always worn out by the time he gets to Nadal.

As you say, Djokovic and Lendl are the two most consistent players at USO. Combined, they have 5 US Opens to show for. Federer has 5 also. At the end of the day, it's the number of titles that matters most, not consistency.

Well I know Fed has 5 titles..
By mentioning consistency I mean to say ,he is no slouch .
Wont be beaten easily and dat 2-1 h2h is a small statistic here..

So is 1-0 at the AO and 2-1 at WB.
Novak is 6-0 at Australian open finals ,probably might end up the greatest australian champ..
Its a shame dat Nadal and him met just once ..
And i agree wid u abt wimbledon 2-1 record ,which is similar to rafas 2-1 record at US open and hence i personally see equal at Wimby .. I hope they meet at US open again.
May b best man win...

Yes I do. Do you understand getting your panties twisted because of one tough player in a draw? He had to be in either Nadal or Federer's draw. Had the draws been completely reversed, the Nadal fans would be whining it was unfair, the Djokovic fans would be whining this was just a way to get Federer in the final and the Federer fans would be whining because there were more potentially dangerous players in his draw than Nadal's.

Did you miss the very last slam?

Hint: Del Potro took Nadal 5 sets and layed the ground work for Djokovic's win.

Isner made his first ever QF (before this year's Wimbledon his only QF) at the US Open.

Potro is easily the 2nd or 3rd best player on the whole this year (Djokovic had a better Wimbledon+Cincy, that's it), get realistic.
