Game of thrones is the GOAT show, so did you like it ? What were your takes from GOT ?
Season 1-6 were excellent. Season 7 was meh, and season 8 was an absolute disaster because the show-runners rushed it to make a Star Ware movie that never came out.

I prefer movies to shows. Even 4 hour movies like the LOTR extended versions are less time consuming than the average show.
That’s very true. They tend to drag some shows because of the fans and that kind of kills the spirit or the originality of the show. I personally prefer limited series (1 season), but movies are the best. Even long movies sometimes bore me.

LOTR movies are long but fly by for me. The Irishman is 3 hours and was absolutely torturous to watch. Felt like it was 10 hours long.

I guess this is the perfect time to plug my letterboxd.

Season 8 was shot in a hurried way because they wanted to wind up the great war and then also wanted to wind up the story in westeros all in 1 season. They made a heel turn of Daenerys which was the most disastrous. Turned her into a mad queen. Then they turned westeros into a democracy with a cripple being the king. In ideal circumstances they should have dealth with the defeat of kings landing and events happening post that in a more subtle way. They didnt need to quickly bring down Cercei too after the Night King was killed. So they brought down Cercei and Daenerys quickly in a few episodes to boost up Sansa, no wonder the S8 sucked.

S7 was great, I liked it too, other seasons were all obviously excellent too... 1-7 was all great for me.

Last shows I heavily invested in were walking dead and game of thrones. Atrocious long term investment.
The Walking Dead is one of my personal favourites despite 11 seasons. I got most attached here. Glen’s death was brutal and Carl’s death was very hard on me. And then Rick disappeared and that was the final curtain, but I still stuck around like a loyal fan and finished the series. There were definitely some great episodes after Rick left so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

Season 8 was just way too fast paced. It needed way more time to cook. The white walkers being such a disappointment after being hyped up for so many years really annoyed me too.

Carl was killed off because AMC didn’t want to pay the actor more when he became an adult. He was originally going to survive until the end.

Season 8 was rushed and pretty messed up. Anyway, the first few seasons were definitely great so I will cut some slack. A lot of the elements felt unnecessary and over the top. My logical mind couldn’t cope with too much fantasy and all.

The White Walkers were definitely a big disappointment especially after the opening scene which initially drew me in to the series. Oh well…

I know. It was such a dumb decision. It almost made me read the comic. Carl, after all, was the key to the series right after Rick and this ending didn’t align with the comic. So dumb.

White Walkers had to lose in the end, yes maybe they could have been shown to cause more destruction with some shocking deaths and maybe the Night King's death could have been a bit more of a teamwork than a blitz sneak attack from a little little stark which looked pretty lame... but remember powerful beings cannot be shown to be doing nothing, the Night King was the strongest character in the show, his defeat either had to come quick or he would win over everyone if given time to find his rhythm

Just made no sense that Arya was the one to kill them. She was written like 2015-2018 Roman Reigns.

Damon is indeed a mogger.

Damon's style was more appealing and more flashy, like an open book.

Stefan's style was more of a closed book types, he was the guy who secretly joined high school to blend in with kids, date a girl, play football etc... he even powered himself down by not drinking human blood just to make it a more level playing field.

Stefan too could come across as mysterious but in a different way, he is certainly not the risktaker or the fun guy to hang around.

I am not sure if I like bad boys but Damon changed into something more complex and that made him attractive.

I knew a guy at my school who barely talked. Had girls all over him just because he was good looking. lol
Meanwhile I’m stuttering like a moron trying to get them to notice me.

Stefan was a great guy. He made all the sacrifices even giving his own life. He was a rare character in a selfish and self centred world. Any parent would be proud to see their daughter choose someone like him.

Nacho actually preempted Stef. By the time Stef realized it, it was too late. No point crying over spilled milk now.

I will fight. I will create another TVD thread again and fight.
Don’t be ridiculous. Nacho deserves it because he created it before you even thought about it. Besides, this way it's unique. You will always be the tragic hero. LOL, I kid, I kid...

The writers showed that Stefan was holding back Elena from reaching her true potential. Damon let her reach her full potential and thats why he was the better man for her.

In TVD universe true potential does not mean in studies or work etc, it means having fun in life and enjoying life to the full. Elena said that Damon made her feel alive while Stefan made her feel guilty for the being attracted to Damon. Damon also made Elena have more fun when they were hanging out. He brought out the trollop in her I would say or maybe Rebekkah would say this, trollop is the word she used in the show for Elena.
