Excuse the crud pun.

He's on a 22 match winning streak, won every tournament since the US Open. What better way to respond to your critics, to your fans and to his opponents, I've been very impressed with his body language also as prior to his US Open defeat he looked fallible though now he has "that aura". Fans of Federer, Nadal and Sampras know what I mean, you walk onto that court and basically you've won the match before you've even started against so called "lesser opposition"

Nadal will be rejuvenated next year, he usually brings it when it really matters in best of 5 situations and Nole will be hungry to take back the number 1 spot and to win a slam outside of Australia ie the French Open. Don't write off Nadal as like a snake he bites you in the backside when you least expect it, I did after Rosol and Darcis.

This song sums up the next year for Nadal and Djokovic:

Yes it has. Personally I'm interested to see what Nadal does with this break. Not quite as long as his 7 month enforced one, but he may regain a bit of fire and come out firing, but Novak has just been awesome since the USO and is fantastic in Australia.

All in all, cannot wait for 2014. AO is by far my second favourite slam next to Wimbledon.

I didn't expect Novak to fade away after losing no 1, after all the tail end of the season is in his preferred surface.
But ending undefeated after USO is amazing indeed. As much as I would've liked rafa to win today to get the elusive WTF title, this is a fair ending. Novak lost some close matches to rafa , he played a better match today and it was a fitting end to his great fall season.

"Phenomenole", that's a good word! I keep saying he is the best at rebounding from tough losses but he really surpassed himself this time

Novak reaction was great. 2014 will be a awesome year, and I think Novak will start better than Nadal and this will call a response from Nadal. Better for us, we will enjoy good matches

Awesome post. Even I can deal with Nole when he isn't tearing his shirt off and insulting the crowd. The end of the year for him has been great and he's been silent and deadly. Not worried about Rafa, typical end of the year mugging it up, never gonna change. I definitely look forward to next year, who knows what we're in store for :)

Nadal is gonna carve him up tomorrow :)

Interesting change of tunes.

Novak needs to stop clowning around in slams. Both of his last two US Opens are inexcusable. Hopefully he got the kick in the butt he needed.

Who did he think would be in the final with him? Berdych? Tsonga? He keeps thinking that the semi-finals is the finish line.

Totally agree, it's ridiculous how unsharp he looked in those finals. Same with Wimbledon, just because it was important for Murray to win that one doesn't mean that it excuses his horrible performance. Djokovic plays Grand Slam finals like Federer plays break points.

You see the thing is normal well adjusted people admit they were wrong and move on. You, on the other hand, can't take anything in stride which is why you shamelessly hyped up Djokovic even after failing with your prediction that Djokovic was guaranteed to win against Nadal at the USO.

Yes, after 3 painful defeats at RG, Wimbledon and US Open, his response has definitely been impressive. You'd think he would normally lose motivation considering these Fall tournaments are less important compared to what he was competing for during the Summer, but it seems like he just wants to win. Doesn't matter what.

I think it's because he lost his no. 1 ranking. That was the last straw. Now he's not the best in the world and a lot of the pressure is off. He's now hunting Nadal after Nadal had been hunting him for the last 2 years.

Why? For quite a few years now Djoko has dominated the beginning(AO-Dubai) and end of the year. He only has issues with the clay and grass seasons. Djoko's best year took off only after he really started focusing post US 2010, when he won DC.

It's like Rafa losing motivation once clay season starts. Makes no sense.
