I've got two frames now. One used, and one new. Both are strung with 18g x-one biphase at 50 and 52 lbs. I'm a little concerned that a full multi setup will be too mushy/soft, but we'll see. I'm interested to see how long an 18g can last in this denser pattern. The demo frames I hit with had crappy recoil in them, so I'm pretty excited to test these new setups. I was thinking of a hybrid of blackcode and nrg, but we'll see how these strings hold up first.

How else can you possibly string them? The string goes from the top of one hole to the bottom of the hole on the other side. If it went from top of the hole to top of the opposite hole there would be no way to get to the bottom of any hole.

I've played with prestiges for a while too - but I find Rebel superior because it is more forgiving with bigger sweetspot, slightly bigger head, better stability, feedback, grip shape.
Why do you like yPrestige more?

If you mean: am I going to put you on the member's list? Actually, I resigned from that position a while back (too much chopping and changing between frames on my part and I was forming an unhealthy love/hate relationship with the Reb.) Lately, as I've gone on 1 of my mad frame quests again, I've come to truly appreciate the Reb once more... I'm presently down to 3, maybe 4 frames I'm closely scrutinizing, and the 1 to beat is... the Reb!
Anyhow, if you feel like taking over this thread (ie, updating the membership, posting regularly), I, for one, don't mind at all... and I don't see others exactly volunteering?...

Indeed we have been here before. It was "Commander" too before I left. I am refraining from any leadership role. I'm afraid that it would cause some catastrophic events and cause me to become unhappy with the Rebel.
I had really not appreciated just how well this stick serves. I don't know if is the decrease in weight from the AST or just the way this stick is made but it bombs the serve. I'm dialing in my groundstrokes right but I am absolutely loving how easy it is to hit a nice heavy, quality ball.

Still the best racquet I have ever used, and I am well beyond the honeymoon stage now at 6 months of solid play. I never have off days with it anymore (like I did at first) and it just feels right in every way.

Well, I do admit that the rebel has a bigger sweetspot but I just love the way the prestige is balanced. My backhand always feels a bit awkward with the rebel but with the prestige it is much more comfortable. I also serve bigger with the prestige because it is a bit lighter meaning more wrist snap and racket head acceleration. And as for the grip shape, I'm one of the few that like the head grip shape, fits my extreme eastern forehand well.

Same story here - not a single thought that there could be a better frame - settled on 17L SPPP - 60 for warm, 55 for cold weather hitting - more lead against spinners, less lead against flat hitters.

so i've only had a chance to play with my rebs once in the past month. really bad case of tendonitis in the foot. but....

That's really what I am thinking right now. I knew that I liked the Rebel from the first hit. I had some doubts string on the demo. But liked it enough enough. Continuing on it just got better and better.
The serve with this thing is just beautiful. I get plenty of pace on my flat serve and TONS of spin on my second serve whether it is kick or slice. And I get the perfect placement most of the time. And when I make errors on serve I blame myself.
Groundies are coming along nicely. Again, blaming myself when I make an error and not the stick. I've found that there isn't a lot of difference with this stick when changing pace on groundies. When I am just hitting the ball easy to keep it in play I get a nice responsive feel and I get that same feel when I dial up the pace and start hitting out. Spin is awesome. I think the best way to describe this stick is that it is stiff enough (although stiff really isn't the word I would like to use here) but the stringbed is very soft and responsive.
I kinda mocked the Prince racquets at first but this one is so damned good it's hard to believe. It's a blend of classic design with modern technology. I'm settling in for a good long haul with this one.

Interesting set up. I see we've gone for the same tension. Have just sent mine off to be restrung with Kirschbaum Proline 2 @ 50 lbs (I'm looking for an even softer feel.) I've also taken to leading up about 3.5 g @ 12.

I have to say I do sometimes wish I could access more spin from the REb, but that certainly has a lot do with 'operator error'... that said, I def don't get quite the spin I could get with various Babs, however, the Reb just totally dominates these Bab frames in terms of feel, solidity, touch, etc, etc.

Re spin....I maybe should have phrased that differently. I can get more spin with less effort from the Reb. I just remember hitting with the AST and wishing that I could get more out of it. With the Reb, the strokes haven't changed but there is more spin on my forehand without question.

I demo'd one after a string broke and really played very well with the stick. I bough my own and consistently hit well so I now have two Rebel 95s. Now will play many strings until I find the right set up for me.

Looks like my Rebs will be getting a rest for a little while as I have a chronic dose of tennis elbow.
Hit last Monday and was having a off day and wrapped a few balls around the frame and was not centering my shots very well, next day my elbow blew up in pain.
Didn't play for a week and it seemed to come good. Had 2 sets of singles yesterday and it felt good at the time but last night the pain started again and today I cant lift my arm above elbow height.
Not blaming the racquet at all as I have been using the same set up for about 8 months now and never had a twinge until this.
Strange but I really need a rest from tennis anyway to freshen up for next season, just hope it doesn't continue.

On a different note, I've just bought another Reb which is 2 grip sizes smaller than the 1 I already have. I'm really curious to see how it compares as I've previously found topspin can come easier, as well as maneuverability can be slightly improved with the smaller grip.
Lastly, having my 'ultimate tests' with 4 frames during the next 2 weeks (inc Reb)... as I keep saying though, the Reb is the one to beat. And come the New Year, that's it. I'll be sticking to 1 for quite a while I reckon.

I had a similar issue back in October. Mine wasn't as bad as yours and I was able to play with it but icing my wrist really helped. I did it playing around with swinging volleys and had a bunch of mishits and OUCH. Hope it gets better for you soon.

A couple of months back I ordered a brandnew exo3 Graphite 100 from a pawn shop in New Jersey over the internet! Even though I saw pictures of the unstrung racquet, I was quite surprised when it got here. Instead of your standard Graphite 100, this was a modified Graphite 100 with a string pattern of 18x20. It also has Davydenko's name on it.
It really was brandnew, never been played with, never been strung.
I put on the new Prince exo3 Glory 17 strings and was blown away by the amount of spin I could generate. Loved it from the baseline and the net, service speed was ok but not great. After about five hours of play I started to have shoulder problems when serving. I finally figured out that these new Glory strings really do not last very long and cut them out. I then had it strung with Big Banger Alu Rough. Wow! The same awesome amount of spin but even more power in every aspect of my game. There are only two things that keep me from continuing to play with this great stick:
1. Since this racquet is some sort of prototype, I won't be able to find another one just like it;
2. It lacks a little bit of stability on my backhand side (single handed backhand).
That's why I switched to the (standard) Rebel 95. The added weight feels great, especially on my backhand, much more stability. I must say I'm really impressed with this stick. I have yet to play it with the string hole grommets, but I will do so when I put new strings on.
Before trying these exo3 racquets, I played the Babolat PDR+. Completely different racquets, but I have never served with anything like the Babolat PDR+. But except for the pure service speed I can generate with the PDR+, I prefer the Rebel 95 in all other aspects of my game.

Just got two fresh new Rebel 95s!
One of my original rebels is pretty badly chipped all over, so what I'll eventually do is strip the paint of off it and then clear coat it and make a polarized setup.
Someone said the black grommets from Team version will fit? Polarized Carbon Blackout here I come.

Due to some shoulder pain, I am going to demo a Rebel and possibly an EXO 100. I hit with my friends rebel briefly, and it was so easy to swing. It was surprising, but I have to credit my Radical Pro for the extra tennis strength because I can whip that thing around now and it is a pretty heavy stick.
I had a great hit with the Radical Pro as usual and it will be tough to top this thing. It hits a massively heavy ball and feels great on the sweetspot. But the balance is not very headlight, and on serve that can hurt my shoulder. I also think there is nothing better for your arm and shoulder then 100% pure graphite. The other intrigue is that I always hear you should play with the smallest head you can handle. My range is 95-100, and there is an advantage to a 95 IMO..you can feel the control of it more. I also like the 18x20 because I can get spin with about any stick, and this could save my strings.
My style is a 2 handed backhand (similar to Nadal's, I use a lot of topspin and my racquet head starts pointing down), a western grip forehand, but I like to keep my topspin flatter and not just hit moonballs. I also have a little trouble at the Net with the Rad and Id like to improve my net game too so I can finish points.
I will hopefully have a demo on Monday, but does anyone else play with my style and use this stick?

I'd advise you use 17l strings at mid or low tension - Rebel's stringbed will be much tighter then Radical Pro at same string and tension.
the touch, cotroll and manueverability of Rebel should be tons better at the net.

Yep..I plan to string Cyberflash 17 at 50#s with the Rebel. If I buy it, maybe get the Port Holes.
I'm not a great volleyer, so I need a stick that will improve my game at net, which is why this could be good.
I will have to spend time with this stick and really see what it can do. I really love that Radical Pro..probably won't sell them no matter how this demo ends up. But to get more control , keep my shoulder healthy and still hit a heavy ball would be a godsend. There is something to be said about using a slightly smaller head..it just feels like a scalpel.

I use to be the same way but the transition to poly strings and me getting better and being able to hit the ball with more authority the racket usually doesn't ping it's just a loud thwack or a thud but with the rebel it's just weird. There's the initial thwack that I like then it ends with twinggggggggggggg for about 2 seconds..I think it might be my grommets because they are cracked but I honestly doubt it.

Just order "Port" grommets - and yes it's a simple swap when you re-string.

And Anton you don't notice much difference? I wonder if it is because you string at a high tension or if it is because there isn't actually much of a difference. You seem to play with the Rebl as much as anyone here.

mmm...not really muh difference IMO - maybe a little less feel - just feels a bit more muted. plays the same though - I personally like the feedback for the touch shots.

Cool. I could not get the Rebel demo today. My shop had no Rebel frames in and only the Team version. Looks like it is a popular racquet here.
I grabbed an EXO 100 that I will hit with tomorrow. It has the ports, so at least I can get an idea of what they feel like.

I went to my local PGA Tour Superstore at lunch and the Rebel comes stock with the string insert piece. I saw how it just pops out and you would I guess, replace it with the O-port piece? It's weird that it doesn't come with both, because on the back of the cardboard on the racquet it has a little thing showing the 2 port options.

I think they did that to save material. It was basically a money saving move because they know only the more hardcore players will buy alternate grommets.
