People don't see that it's not Sinner's constant attacks, its the fact that Sinner doesn't give a loose ball even on the run that makes an approach shot difficult.

He has a very short take back slappy FH on the run. And his athleticism means he is always in position for those.

He just doesn't allow a good approach 80% of the time.

Net game is useful but when shot selection is very important, if you use 90s style SNV then that’s outright suicidal. Sinner went to net only when time was right and when he had to because of Carlos bommbing him with mindless drop shots.

The drop shot has to be near perfect against the speedy Sinner. A good strategy against most players. But not against Sinner's superior speed and anticipation.
But maybe Carlos does not believe he can hang with Sinner from the baseline and hence he overuses the dropper.

What screams ATG about them is the fact they are good at every where with in the court. Sinner may not play all court tennis (Carlos does somewhat) but he is good at serve, defense, attack, net play you name it.

This was absolutely lacking from predicted ATGs of previous gen (Zverev, Stefanos) and only Timothy had some remnants of it across the board.

Sinner base game is higher than 95% player playing their best tennis.
Alcaraz had to play crazy from championship down to winning FO but still Sinner was not outclassed.
Alcaraz can not produce magic every time he faces Sinner and Sinner can produce same game at almost every match he plays.
A good rivalry that tennis needed after big3 fades out from memory

Pretty sure I called this out in multiple posts but surely one always needs to start a threat off the obvious.
While I don’t think either player was at their top form: sinner added variety to his game. While serving at an elite quality (first and second serve), he was like a wall when coming forward after that second set. Carlos didn’t have a solve for the adjustment.
