People will always remember Fedal because of what they have done for the sport.

Regardless if they are active or retire, their name will always be mention in every part of this forum.

I literally can’t believe Nadal won the AO FIVE YEARS after this. I would have said you were insane if you told me that in 2017.

I understand the sentiment by Federer and his sportsmanship. Although not technically a draw the Summer Olympics did award bronze medals in both singles and doubles for those who reached the Semi-Finals without have a bronze medal match. They did eventually end that practice that also has been done in other Olympic events. I always founded a bit funny having athletes share the same podium as they are awarded the same medal (most notably M. J Fernandez and A.S Vicario getting bronze in the 1992 Olympics). Capriati a fellow American won Gold as M.J Fernandez had her right hand over her heart while A.S Vicario was stoic, LOL.
 
Good lord... remember watching this from my hostel dorm. Can't feckin believe it's already been 7 years to the most hyped match in living memory
