They can't be that different, can they?

So today I played a couple of sets with my prestige ig mid. I was framing the ball a lot. So mid way through the second set I switched to my old pt280 and didn't frame a ball for the rest of the set and it felt like it had more spin and power. So when I was done playing I comapired the two head sizes. The pt280 is not that much bigger. I mean if I frame a shot with the mid I'd also frame with the pt280 as well. I also weighed them both come in at 354g and they're close in balance. Both are strung with the same string and same tension. The pt280 has cap grommets. The prestige mids have 4g of lead at 3&9 to get the weight up to where the pt280 is and give it some more power. I guess I just don't understand why I played differently with the pt280. I just throwing this out there because I think it's got to be all in my head.

Weird. If they are the same specs, then its kind of a mystery. Yeah, maybe frame width, but that kind of splitting hairs.

Your sample size is too small. I can use the same racquet and play great for a while and then completely lose it.

My guess is that it was just a mental thing.

Now, if you tell me that this has been the case every time you play with these two frames over an extended period of time, then maybe there is something to it.

Spinovic, I think it was a mental thing too. It's crazy that getting a different racquet out of my bag made me refocus like that.

Swingweight.
280 with cap probably has SW north of 340. IG with 4g of led is probably just over 320 SW.

You also pulled your sweet spot up a bit with the cap grommets wrapping around the top of the hoop. And less of the weight concentrated at 9 and 3 would give you a little more maneuverable of a racquet.

Or it's a mental thing. Which racquet do you normally prefer?

I usually play with the mids. The pt280s are to have fun with. I used to play with a pure control + and the pure control ltd. I bought the mids 2 years ago thinking they were a real 93sqin head but I comapired them to some pro staff 90s and they're the same size.

It's in your head. You framed a few balls and blamed it on a whopping 8 square inches of surface area FML

Are you sure you know FML?

He's framed some balls and it has ruined your life?

If you were going to go to acronyms surely SMH would've been a better fit.

I deal with people asking stupid questions all day. It chips away at you.

Cool! I deal with people that feel they aren't accountable for their actions all day. You really don't know how to handle yourself. If it's really that stupid to you then why did you answer? You know what chips away at me? People that feel they have all the answers and belittle someone when they ask questions or are just airing their thoughts.

I tried to help. Remember, I'm the helpful troll. It's a lost art dating back to Greek theatre.

If you want consistency, get the same frames and get them professionally customized and matched.
