Thiem was one of the good guys and a great player

Privilege to have watched him play live a few times. A true gentleman and at his best a beast of player and a physical monster. That BH was a joy, especially the DTLBH. HIs USO2018 QF match with Nadal was spellbinding and will live with me forever and was privileged to be there live.
He will be sorely missed. Thanks Dom.

Yes he was.

Just a bunch of fun. Sometimes had no control, but was a fun evening when he was on.

Very likeable too.

Not that hyped like Zed, Citybus Auger etc. but he has fullfiled his potential.
He was a serious big 3 contender, at one point being 10-6 against them.
Medvedev was pathetic against dinosaur Fed and Nadal.
Zed would choke as usual at the biggest stages and Citybus? Come on

He's a mysterious person. There's nothing "bad" about him, but I don't feel a whole lot to like either. He could be a great guy or a scumbag. Idk.

Has a reputation for being money focused in a way that stands out even on the ATP tour

Unfortunately I think that might have been part of what did him in--overplaying
I think that may be a family type thing, his parents seem suspect.

I still was a big fan of his tennis. Just recently watched some parts of his big wins on Tennis TV. Good memories!

Ah yes, the guy who complained about sharing with less fortunate ones. Textbook definition of a good guy. Pretty much the same iq on and off the court. Insane hitting when he was on though.
