There is a net behind the court that is likely causing some moire and false color, looks yellow like hurricane as a cross instead of rpm.

Could very well be RPM Blast Rough in neon yellow:

So, vs gut mains with rpm blast rough yellow crosses?
I might have to try this so i can hit groundstrokes at ninety miles per hour when pulled wide.
Looks like RPM Blast Black on mains and RPM Blast Rough on crosses for some extra spin actually. As far as I know Thiem never liked Nat Gut.

Jack sock tried a similar stringbed at Wimbledon and switched back to his usual for hard court.

Also Rublev was swapping between his current frame and the previous paintjob. Not sure what the difference was.

Well I’m not sure if a string change is going to help his bad tactics but I would like to see it! Very curious what he’s changed to as well. @Babolat Official can you shed some light on this?

Hi all,

Yes, we can confirm that Dominic is testing a new hybrid setup this week in Vienna. While it is only a test, we can't communicate quite yet on the specifics but hope to do soon! I will keep you updated as things progress.

If being as good as Thiem is to the point of beating Federer and being the 6th best player in the world is called bad tactics, I say give me all of that nasty style!
Yeah! And nastier spins.
I get such a kick out of it when players denigrate the "lack of gameplan" of a jamesblake, a dom thiem, or a stan wawrinka. Not everyone can be hewitt or wilander.
I would give my left earlobe to play as well as Dominic....or any of these people.

There's more to it than that. He beat Fed twice, once on hard and once on grass, plus he's beat Nadal twice on clay (and is the only player to do so this entire year). He's also got wins over Djokovic and Murray and many other top players.

Thiem has been hitting many more shots long with what appears to be more pop/power than before. So this RPM rough obviously has more in it than his previous cross string.

That very first match with him using it his servers and forehands were bazookas in all the wrong ways.

looks like black gut
Cool. Indeed. Black gut. Vs touch with the dreaded btseven! I did not look hard enough. Was just going by a post i misread, and a little photo.
So i am stringing a pair of frames this Saturday. I use black or white vs gut with black rpm blast or head hawk touch. Will try this new yellow rough rpm this weekend. Wondering if there is even less friction on this yellow rough stuff.

I noticed this also. Def overhitting too much.

He should ditch the babolat frame. He used to hit more through the ball when he played with his Prestige.
Of course his game is more powerful now, but when he goes for a winner it is often long. So he uses this huge loopy swing most of the time and that makes it hard to win outside clay.

Doesn't seem like Thiem has a vision regarding his game.

If Rafa was "Forehand to backhand, no?" then Thiem is "I don't win, I need more power and spin!"

If more power doesn’t work, add more power. That’s what he did against Goffin earlier this year and that’s how Goffin walked out the court looking like he was out of a spa session while Thiem looked like he battled a grizzly while running a marathon in a snowstorm... at night.

But hey, I still love to watch him play. But I’m not sure he will be the next #1 like I thought he was just a year back. He has no answer against players that can handle his power and send it back at him. He has not a lot of variations. He’s like a WTA player, hitting as hard as possible until the other side breaks down.

But he is well coached with Gunter and hopefully they are working in giving him a better overall game. But being #4 in the world is already quite an achievement in itself. If that is his peak, it is very good.
