Not standing 12 metres back from an 80mph second serve. Though it does work out for him, the US open court was nearly too small for him. French open court has favoured Nadal a lot for this reason, negates most big servers. So far back reduces a lot of angle, so he is forced into a fairly neutral return most of the time.
TTW, please find who the 9.1% poasters are who voted for 'topspin backhand' and ban them for life. Then ban them for another life just in case they decide to come back as zombies.
They probably think Nadal is held back by his forehand. And Novak by his overhead. Oh wait, no..... how do I delete that last one, darn ...
I'd also like to see improvements in his return game. Aside from returning far back from the baseline, I'd like to see him develop a backhand chip/dip to lure his opponents to the net and set up his signature passing shot.
