Thin but cushioned replacement grip.

Discussion in 'Other Equipment' started by Eugene Khosid, Feb 23, 2004.

  1. My wife is playing with Yonex V-Con 17 MP which has Yonex Cushion Grip and she also uses a Super Grap overgrip. Unfortunately this combinations is slightly bigger than she'd like it (she plays with 4 1/8" racquet already). I dont know whether this grip is thick or thin but I wonder if there're other grips that are thinner but provide similar cushioning.

Try Prince ResiPro, its a synthetic grip that is comfortable, tacky, and thin.

Babolat also has nice thin cushioned grips. Maybe she purchased a grip sized racquet too big for her hands.

Prince or Babolat should satisfy what you're looking for.

Tourna has a few that actually makes your grip slightly smaller and yet still offer cushioning.

Tourna Pro Thin is 1.25mm and supposed to reduce grip with a full size on most racquets.

The Tourna Pro Tour is 1.5mm. Ever so slightly thinner than most original grips. Pro Thin, as Knife says above is even thinner at 1.25

Wilson Feather Thin. Yonex grips are pretty thin to begin with. I would take the Wilson Feather Thin and pull it tight when wrapping it. On the other hand, the Super Grap overgrip is a little thick. Maybe try a thinner overgrip as well like a Babolat VS Original or Wilson Pro Sensation.
