It really is remarkable how short Federer fans say his peak years were yet they think he should be a GOAT contender over a guy like Laver who won the Grand Slam for the 2nd time at 31 years of age.

Fine, I'll say something nice about Federer. From 2014-16, Djokovic's 2nd major period of success, Federer still managed a 6-7 H2H. At 33-34 years old. That alone speaks volumes about how well Federer has matched up to Djokovic over the years.
That includes a 6-4 lead in BO3. Anyone who thinks Djokovic "owns" Federer, or that Federer's H2H deficit is even close to a detractor in his legacy, should probably shut their phuck up.

Man, Djokovic took him out during his last real chance of winning a slam. Djokovic single handedly blocked him from winning slams between 2014-19 and Fedfans still get happy about a RR match.

Nobody sustained that level of dominance the way Federer did in 2004-2007. Even if he's not the greatest of all time, one could argue he had the longest peak actually. He does have the record for consecutive weeks at #1, after all. And it was done while winning 3 slams per year except for one time he won 2 while being one point away from winning 3.

All of the above maintained a peak level for longer than Federer if his only lasted the 4 years his fans claim.
