Nice stats. I think this highlights that, during his prime, Federer UTTERLY dominated.

Nadal and Djokovic have been dominate at times and Nadal may even have been the player-to-beat for a longer time, but neither of those guys dominated as completely as Federer did during those years.

I had to do some counting and recalling.

Actually 23 cons semis is one of his greatest achievements. The second one after this is Djokovic with 14. Djokovic's loss proves how tough it is to keep it up. And Federer did so for almost 6 years.

It is an underrated achievement. This monstruous consistency should add to his legacy.

I think even the commentators in one match were saying how impressive this achievement is. Though i may be wrong

I hope you know in past eras players played 3 (or sometimes only 2 ) out of the 4 GS every year. Many top players played only about half of the GS during their prime period. Obviously it is impossible for them to have any "consecutive anything GS...." record.

Federer is, up to now, the best player of his era. Which is the greatest thing a tennis player can be.

He needs the Davis Cup (which can get it this year), more M1000 titles, and he lost the chance to equal Pete with the #1 year-end ranking.

I think those 3 items would have elevated him to a good position for the GOAT contest. (althoght this GOAT contest is silly to me)


If Nadal gets a couple of slams more, all the press and ex-legends will name him the new GOAT. No doubt about it.
