Mine's (Pure Drive GT +) is expected to come in on Wednesday. I'm so excited. I'm switching from the Head Liquidmetal 4. I looking for a little more 'oomph' in my groundstrokes and serve and I'm hoping this one will deliver.
I tested out one of my coach's Pure Drive and I liked it and when I heard that a new one was coming out, I waited.

Which generation of the PDT? I use Roddick's current racqet, the PDT Swirly (2nd gen) and it's the best Pure Drive ever.
Plenty of power as well but so much better feel and control than all those new PD's!

Phenomenal frame I would argue for a particular way of playing (big serve, short points power-blasted from the b-line with huge topspin... definitely not for those who are more touch/control/all court orientated.) Ridiculously derided by the anti-Bab collective. Hugely popular a few years back with the public, advanced and pro level players (and players like Roddick still use it.) As influential as any modern frame in recent times imo. I personally loved mine and used it on at least 2 lengthy periods in my tennis playing life. On balance, I'm not sure it isn't the best Bab of the lot, or at least for me (and I tried most of them.) What can I say?... a legend!... a rilf!... a supreme b-line weapon of ferocious destructive capabilities!... :roll:

It was the swirly one. When I was hitting with it, my groundstrokes had more power behind them and I still had the amount of control I needed.
