I actually just wrote something similar to this without seeing your post. It is a similar situation with an even larger age gap. Difference is Djokovic played a relatively inexperienced player for something such as the Olympics. Takes an insane amount of mental strength probably.

Federer didn't have the benefit of playing three generations of duds younger than him. Djokovic literally only has a 20 year with ATG potential. All the others have been pathetic!

The difference was the tiebreaks. Federer and Alcaraz both made the crucial mistake of losing all the tiebreaks, and Djokovic decided not to do that. It was the better move.
In all seriousness though, tough to compare 3 hours on court vs the longest Wimbledon final ever (if I remember correctly). Federer did amazing at 37, and he was playing a better player (not to mention to be completely frank, he was outplaying Djokovic except during pressure points). In the end, Alcaraz isn't Djokovic, and it isn't fair to compare them like he is.

The guy could barely reach for dropshots. Alcaraz and Sinner are better than the cream of the crop of previous gens, but their ceiling is below Murray's if we're gonna be honest.
