The latter could be confusing, if u no wat eye mean.
I know, we don't want an annus horribilis do we ?
Actually, Erectus Abdominis is having one already, but let's see if things improve in the clay season.
Careful there, like you would when tightrope walking, some gargantuan repoarter might blow the whistle.
It's my first visit to this dark corner of TTW. Having only skimmed through the last few pages, I'm somewhat befuddled. At first glance it appeared encrypted; alien, like something I've never quite gazed upon before but made up of intriguing little morsels of familiarity. And then the proverbial "light bulb" started flickering; twitching with possibilities! A different way of communicating? A new language? A Sewretchian pig latin?!
Endeavour to decode this peculiar new tongue!
Is this how new religions and cults are born in the "Aetate Digitalis"?
Nope, it's @Sentinel and I engaging in a Sewretchian dialogue that has temporarily derailed this noble thread.
I will attempt to atone for our collective sins with the next poast.
OK, I'll go for
Pooh on ice in honor of the minor league hockey team from my hometown Orlando.
More compelling TV sport:
NHL Stanley Cup playoffs
No Red Wings??? Forgetaboutit
2017 Red Wings
Anticipation is keeping us waiting. Piston's guard play sunk them
Pissed Pistons! Whatever happened to D-E-T-R-O-I-T b-a-s-k-e-t-b-a-l-l?!
Never mind, reporting myself for thread derailing.....
Bouchard or Kournikova
Kournikova by a double dose of a blue Ibepokin.
Hotter Russian K.
I use to have WTA contacts, and met Maria Kirilenko a long time ago and Anna even longer ago. Anna never did much for me, but Maria was beautiful in appearance and vibe.
Indian AYCE buffet, or AYCE salad bar with soups, pasta and more?
I'm still searching for the elusive high quality and convenient Indian buffet so I'll vote for my Golden Corral AYCE buffet, where I do most of my fill-up at the salad bar and add beets in your honor to the huge salad I build. I stay away from the pasta and go for broiled fish with broccoli, squash and carrots for sides. I also say, "Hello, Sewretch!" every time I walk past the Chocolate Wonderfall.
A nice evening at Girardelli Square
is better than airport personnel grabbing Roger's balls.
At a movie theater:
Sneak in snacks, or buy them at the concession stand?
The cinema is a no consumption zone for me. I was weaned from snacks during movies as an impoverished student in London when I had little cash to spare after gaining admission.
I don't consider myself a smuggler if there's a banana or a box of raisins in my coat pocket though.i wouldn't want to nod off in the middle of the flick.
Funnier comedy shot in B&W:
Some Like It Hot
Some Like it Hot
Irma la Douce
Billy Wilder or Alfred Hitchcock?
North By Northwest
These are both great films. "Notorious" had a much stronger storyline dealing with the dark side of spy tradecraft, and Ingrid Bergman, while "North by Northwest" had some of the most iconic scenes in film history.
I once worked for a producer who had a giant framed still in his office of Cary Grant escaping a plane in the "North by Northwest" crop duster scene. There was something about the scene that elicited primal fears. I will have to go with "North by Northwest" as it has so many scenes that remain in the collective consciousness of cinematic memories.
Will win more majors:
Kyrgios or Zverev?
Zverev, double trouble today in Monte Carlo
Alexander or Mischa?
Racquetball or table tennis?
Table tennis...Forrest Gump didn't promote world peace on a racquetball court.
Better Tom Hanks role:
Forrest Gump (eponymous)
Andrew Beckett (Philadelphia)
Drunken one-night stand:
Kournikova or Sharapova?
Anna K...meldonium doesn't get me high.
Better Sinatra drinking song:
I Get A Kick Out Of You
One For My Baby And One More For The Roaf
A Frank Sentinel dilemma, but I'll go with...
NYC or L.A.?
NYC for the chutzpah any day. Your choice reminds me of the old quip 'New York is all talk, LA is all play and Chicago is where the work's done'!
Flamenco or Salsa?
2017 Miami Open Iguana (Haas match) or 2017 Monte Carlo Pigeon (Nadal match)?
Iguana, who just commuted to Sarasota and hooked up with his/her squeeze and got noisy doing it.
Just plain moaning
I am currently watching the Warriors on television, and don't mind not being at the event, especially since I don't feel like wearing one of those bright yellow t-shirts they put on every chair, creating peer pressure for everyone to put one on.
Best major American sport to watch in person:
NHL, NBA, NFL, college football, or MLB?
I'm going to go with "none of the above" and say NASCAR.
16x19 or 18x20?
Open pattern 16 x whatever.
Gut main/ poly cross hybrid
Poly main/ gut cross hybrid
Poly cross, if at all. I like to protect my arm like Stepanek.
"Guys only: best legs and other best female issues" or "Official Sureshs tribute thread"?
"Sureshs only: best legs and other issues".
Sewretch's drop volley or breast-stroke ?
sureshs' droopy breast-stroke in the valley.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment
Nikolayevich Tolstoy's Anna Karenina ?
Fyodor, baby! Although fedr honored Tolstoy with the choice of Leo for one twin's given name.
Most accurate Sewretchian book title by FD:
While the San Diego Bageler may be a dine-and-dashing, no-tipping heartless bageler, he seems like a witty and intelligent man. He's clearly a gambler, as evidenced by his cheetah like sprint to the net and balletic moves at the net. He is the inspiration for Roger's SABR attack.
A mushroom crêpe with Laetitia in Paris,
or a cheese and guacamole quesadilla at Roberto's in Solana Beach with the San Diego Bageler?
beer OR vodka&gingerale?
all replies received within the next 30 seconds will be credited as liked and friended
I once got drunk on Vernors Ginger Ale and Jack Daniels at a party, and ginger ale hasn't appealed to me since. Bourbon is less dangerous than vodka with a soda, because you at least know that there is alcohol in there.
I remember asking Norwegian girls in Oslo why everyone is carrying around Coke bottles, and they explained that they were filled with vodka and the police won't check. That was a fun night.
The biggest binge cultures I have seen were with Swedes (especially in Copenhagen) and in Japan.
Getting drunk with Swedes in Copenhagen, or Japanese businessmen in Tokyo?
Crepes won't fill me up but the view is too good to pass up a date with Laetitia. A lunch at Roberto's is definitely on my list though.
People watching on:
