Green...I only like black olives on pizza or in a salad.

    Better original NY pizza:

    Neapolitan thin crust

    or

    Square Sicilian thick crust

    ???

Neapolitan thin crust, but NYC pizza is not in the realm of my expertise. In general, the less dough, the better the pizza and sandwich, which may explain my fondness for smørrebrød. I do like a Chicago-style pizza with a buttery thin crust and great tomato sauce.

    On a pizza:

Mushrooms, garlic and onions, or something else?

Good start...crumbled sausage, salami, Roma tomatoes, green peppers, spinach and black olives will round that off.

NYC Sicilian is my favorite...two squares and the rest in the fridge for snacks for a week!

    Beefsteak Tomato BLT

    or

Caprese salad topped with thin sliced capicola

    ???

Answer the BLT or Caprese salad this or that and then I will tell you the Florida to NY back to Florida trek in my life has been a long strange trip!

I shot an arrow in the air,
it fell to earth I know not where...

    or

I wolfed down a BLT in one breath,
it later came out as TMF..

    Pre-GPS era arrow, I guess.

Grew me some nice beefsteak tomatoes in my backyard in Port Washington, Long Island. The first off the vine every summer made my he best BLTs. Became a tradition for a party...any excuse for a party back in the day!

    Better holiday weekend in NYC:

    Memorial Day (start of summer)

    or

    Labor Day (end of summer)

Labor Day because it coincides with the U.S. Open.

Lunch at a classic NYC restaurant:

Beckett should have met Sewretch before writing his play! I'll go with AMFAS.

The movie version of AMFAS won Paul Scofield an Oscar as it swept the major awards for Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Cinematography and Costume Design. Robert Shaw was great as Henry VIII but he lost to Walter Matthau.

Coppola if he had kept churning out masterpieces instead of growing grapes.

    Better Steinbeck novel:

    The Grapes Of Wrath

    Or

    East Of Eden

Nothing better than Boar's Head roast beef cut fresh at the deli counter!

Go to cheese for a fresh roast beef deli sandwich:

    Boar's Head Horseradish Cheddar

    or

    Boar's Head Bold Chipotle Gouda

    ???

P.S. Neither beetroot nor wheatgrass can beat kale's current celebrity status. Kale is the rage these days.

HOW HERB CAEN NAMED A GENERATION
Jesse Hamlin Published 4:00 am, Sunday, November 26, 1995

Chronicle columnist Herb Caen coined the word "beatnik" on April 2, 1958, six months after the Soviets launched the Sputnik satellite into space.
"Look magazine, preparing a picture spread on S.F.'s beat generation (oh, no, not AGAIN!)," read an item in Caen's April 2 column, "hosted a party in a No. Beach house for 50 beatniks, and by the time word got around the sour grapevine, over 250 bearded cats and kits were on hand, slopping up Mike Cowles' free booze. They're only beat, y'know, when it comes to work."

Although, I might like to listen to the 9th while watching Nadal playing at the FO. The scene of that guy whose eyes are taped open, LOL.

    Nadal: 10th FO
    or
    2nd AO.
