Thoughts on Revolve Spin

Ok, it confirm what I read.
For tension maintenance, playability duration and durability, what would you say ? Revolve > PTP > Lynx for you ?
I read the playtest thread about Lynx. Some say the tension is great for hours, weeks, decades (lol, but TW review says the same as you : not so great.
I like those types of strings but as I don't string myself so it could become expansive and so I need to have something that don't move too much for 15/20 hours or at least 10 and stay playable !
I see for some posts already that Revolve could be the answer, but I fear the way it changes along the time. (Break in period then good for 4 hours then tension loss then dry...)

I have 2 packs of plx 16g and 1 pack pl ll 16g laying around . I could give them to you and you can see for yourself that these strings require little to no break in time, keep their playability consistently over time , and because are prestretch don't feel dead after all done . Because it's 16g I recommend at first using dampeners.

I'd recommend trying some strings.

Revolve, PTP, and PL II (or Pro Line Rough if you wanna go down my route) are some good options, one of which is sure to suit you.

I began my tests with PTP 16L @ 52Lbs.
First impressons for only 2 hours : Good control but sometimes maybe it's a bit too powerful. I could have raised the tension a bit compared to other polys. Spin feels above average I'd say but you have to increase the move. Touch is not great. I'd say it's a good option for (far) baseliners/punchers. For the moment : as everybody say : "good everywhere, great nowhere". I'll see what will happen next.
I'm looking for some sets of Revolve, PLX, Lynx to see what could be upgraded cause PTP since to be average.

Pl2 seems to be discontinued no ?
PLX looks cool. Just some say it has no(t a lot of) spin and lacks power. What's your opinion ? SpinToWin founds it spin friendly and my interest awake for that string.

I'll mail you the 2 packs I have laying around in 16 g. I switched to 17g reels for now . I think plx is suited to my game because I use 18x20 pattern and I generate heavy top spin through my stroke. don't need the help of the strings. It's the tall deep flight path and crisp control of the plx that helps me .

PL ll is not discontinued . They have a pl ll rough that is new .

It would be really great but I live in Europe !

Pro Line II certainly is not discontinued.

I don't find PL X to lack spin at all. The TW review tends to agree with me. It has enough power to put away the ball but is controllable, which sounds like what you're looking for if PTP is maybe a bit too powerful.

Order sets of string from TWE once you're sure of your demo choices. I think Lynx may be too lively for you if you think PTP is too lively.

Yes !I noticed that you (and some others) found good spin in PLX ! That's why I think I'll order one
Too bad if Lynx is too lively. A friend told me about Rip Control as a spinny multi, but I had bad experiences with multi : Too lively, powerful and no spin.
It seems that PLX and Revolve should be the winning duet to test ! Don't know which first but doesn't matter.
Thanx for all your answers. I think I see clearer now.

4G sucks IMO.

Really dead, not comfortable, dents quickly and sucks for spin... The only thing it has going for itself is that it doesn't change over time, but it plays like a poly that has gone dead throughout, so why the heck would I pay 20+€ for it.

Less spin than Revolve
Less comfort
Less soft feel
Sort of more control I guess? Unless you like to control your shots with spin, cause this string sucks for that!
More durability.

If durability is all you want you can just put a full bed of kevlar in your racquet though.

I'm really happy about the pl ll 17 g in my crosses with 17g syn gut mains . More so than the plx 17L (1.20). But I have a reel of the plx 17L. Are you interested in taking the reel off my hands or anyone else interested ?

What do you mean by taking it off your hands? I'm always up for presents... ;) :P

Jokes aside, send me a PM with your location and offer, might consider it as a string for customers.

What if I keep the plx 17L and try using co poly mains and 17g syn gut crosses ? How will that work ? I'm already using the 17g syn gut mains with both PL ll 17g crosses and plx 17L crosses and IMO the PL Il is the winner setup with the co poly crosses.

I think the the plx will shine better as the mains and syngut as crosses.

Awesome info on all strings.. going to try PLX full first low 50's in a 16x19.. maybe even in the Vcore 330 with the tighter pattern which I've only gone full poly in and I've liked it always.

This will work in a full bed at 53lbs. I played with this setup in my youtek 18x20 for the past 2 yrs until I learned how to string for myself and am now going syngut/co poly for pl ll and am trying plx/syn gut now as I believe it will be better for the plx in the mains because it plays much like a crisp/ control string with more pocketing and power and spin as say 4g 1.25 as i had that in a full bed before to compare with .

Hi. Thx but 20€ is the price here for 3 packs. For the moment I'll try a 17 I just received. I'll let you know my feelings !
I think that maybe we should come back to the topic : Revolve spin ! ;) Some news thoughts about it ?
