Ti Rad OS vs LM Rad OS

Ok, so I have accepted the fact that my days of 98 sq in head tennis racquets is over and I either need a 102 sq in or 107 sq in head.

For those of you who have played with the Ti Rad OS and the LM Rad OS....how similarly do they feel and play with the same set up?

I recently pulled my Ti Rad OS out of mothballs and have begun to make it my main racquet (again). I want a second racquet but since they no longer make the Ti Rad OS and the LM Rad OS are value priced I have been looking at the LM Rad OS as a second to my Ti Rad OS.

So....how similarly do they feel and play with the same setup?

thanks for the help

just demo one or get one cuz they sell for like $70 now :)

Like I don't already know that :). I would like to get opinions before I go try to track down an LM Rad OS demo or plop down $70 for one if someone here can tell me if they are or aren't similar...

Okay - this is said with the understanding that one can only speak about their own experiences and that everyone will have different opinions.

i have never played the TiRad but I understand it isn't a bad frame from what a few friends have said about it.

The LM rad o/s is the only frame I have ever used that caused my body damage. I started playing tennis in 1979 and I have I tried quite a few racquets since then. In all that time, only the LM Rad caused me grief.

To hit with, I thought it felt cheap and insubstantial - very tinny. I could get nice spin from it and hit a reasonably fast ball. Sweetspot felt quite large and forgiving. Volleys I didn't care for - may have been the strings in the test racquet (generic syn gut), I don't know, but I couldn't easily get a feel for what the ball was doing.

Groundies - as I said. Just lacking in substance for me. i found the frame quite light so the ball left the strings with some pace but not a lot of weight and spin was no problem. I've never been one to experiment with customisation - always figured the way they come is the way they were designed to come - but perhaps some lead would help. I didn't miss the middle much but could imagine it not being the most stable frame out there.

i don't know if it was too light for it's stiffness or what, but my elbow really began to suffer after a week and it just got worse. Like I said, nothing like this has ever happened to me with tennis equipment before, so I wasn't really sure what was happening and in retrospect I would have put the frame down sooner than i did. In the end I had to - i just couldn't hold onto it and make contact with the ball - too much pain. That didn't go away for quite some time.

I know others have had better runs with this frame but in my experience the only memory I can take away from 2 weeks with it is the fact that it felt cheap, tinny and was the only racquet to ever hurt my elbow in all my years of playing tennis.

Good luck with your search. If you can test it, do so for at least a couple of weeks.

Cheers mate
