TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports) Black Knight question

Has anyone tried it? I have a huge amount of samples they sent me for my academy kids to try. I'm wondering if it's stiff? Low powered? Textured? Thanks in advance.

wow, if you have a huge amount of samples, send me some and I will let you know my take...
if not...try those puppies and tell us!
I don't see it listed on there site, so no clue on a string called "black knight".
Tier One is usually very very good about promoting new strings, and building some excitement....so again no clue.
You can always email there, they are very good.
Just be sure to verify those black knights are available...
Please remember, they are not sold here on TW.
So respect and be mindful of that.

On their website it is listed as Neos 3, but will be called Black Knight once it is released. According to the description from them, it is "
This 6 sided co-polyester string offers an ultimate playing experience for high level players. The newly engineered monofilament compound will provide hard hitters superior to access to spin and maintains durability and tension stability at the highest standard. In addition, this string will give players with high racket speeds the necessary depth and directional control to execute strategies at the highest level."

It's a solid string, pretty much what'd you expect for a shaped poly. Good spin, good control, similar to tecnifibre black code, crisp feel. Much better than tour status at everything. Not sure if I like it more than durafluxx and FireWire tho.

could u compare it to tour bite? would be pretty nice :)
Tourbite is slightly more dead than blacknight. Tourbite also has more spin than blacknight bc of its shape and lower power. Blacknight is more comfortable and has what most people would consider "more feel" than tourbite. Tourbite has better tension maintenance but probably attributed to its deader feel. Hope this helps and give it a try!

I'd say it's a better and crisper version of volkl cyclone and it's price is pretty close to cyclone as well

i will string up my 3rd racquet with the remaining set of neos1 18 at my normal tension of 52#
in my 2017 PS97, as i have some league matches this weekend
from what i recall the black knight felt good, with adequate power and feel.
it is comparable to tour bite 17, but i liked the tour bite better
i strung one racquet with neos1 18 a while back, played pretty good, but i prefer Solinco
i need to order some more Solinco HyperG and Revolution.

actually i just hit with my PS97 with BK (neos) 18 52#. it has good power and feel, but doesnt give me the snappy response of the Solinco Revolution 17 and TB17
i think BK a good string, but i am sold on Solinco.
when i restring next it will be with HyperG 17 and Revolution 17.
i like the TB17, but its the stiffest of the Solinco polys that i have tried
Cyclone 17 and/or RPM in 17g are giving me some wrist problems and I need a spin friendly string. I really liked BHB7 16g but it doesn't last more than a couple hours although it is arm friendly. I've heard 16g in TB is tough on the arm but how about 17g or 18g?

Using a Angell TC97 16x19 and would like it to last 4-6 hours at least. Former college player.

Which would be more arm/wrist friendly of these spin strings?

even though the black knight played pretty good, i lost tension after about 3 weeks, where it went from 52# to about 40#, and the balls started spraying all over the place. its hard for me to gauge how long it lasted, as i have 4 racquets, and rotate them throughout the match, as i sweat a lot, and have problems holding on to a wet grip. wristbands are a distraction for me.
but i averaging my playing time and dividing by 4, i thought i got around 12-15 hrs on the black knight before it got out of control, which is too short for me.

Could you compare the string to Durafluxx and Firewire?
I've been using durafluxx 1.28 as of late and it'll be my string of choice from now on. Love the crisp deader feel, control, and spin. I feel like black knight notches much faster and it is softer than durafluxx. Just in my opinion the feel of black knight doesn't make me feel as confident. All about preferences though. If you like tourbite or Luxilon like strings, you'll likely enjoy durafluxx. If you like cyclone, you'll likely enjoy black knight
