Hi All

Has anyone tried this string - Tier One Strike Force RIP? Does it have that Syn-Gut feeling?

Tier One Strike Force RIP Webpage

It is the only string I know that explicitly markets this particular... Plays like Syn-Gut
.. Typically no one will market something to say it has the feel of a lower priced product but that's exactly what they are doing.

This is exactly what I am looking for...

Never tried it but it looks like a great main string for a poly/poly hybrid with Ghostwire crosses. Issue with poly is always how long it will remain resilient and you'll never get those data from a string maker.

I've just ordered an 18g set on Amazon... 17g is out of stock and 16g in any poly worries me....

Will try the following
RIP 18g full bed

If really good then
RIP 18g with GW 17g crosses

If RIP FB not good
GW 17g with OGSM 16g crosses

If GW/OGSM not good
OGSM 16g with GW 17g crosses

If not good

Back to OGSM 16g full bed I guess

Out of curiosity. What racquet, what gauge and what tension?
Six One 95, 17G, requested at 59lbs but got it around 51-52 because the stringer was on a lockout stringer and I didn't know at the time that those types of stringers start losing tension after cranking, so you had to adjust for that. I had another of the same racquet strung with Black Knight at the same time and I did prefer that one and felt it was more consistent. Right now I'm preferring to play with Toroline Caviar and Super Toro, which I've bought mini-reels of. Still have a bunch of sample sets of different strings to work through though.

Ah cool. Atleast being in a racquet that is 320g/315SW strung with 16x20 pattern there is a chance it will still work and I ain't no beast either.... For reference I play my best (so far) with OGSM 16 at 54 lbs in the same racquet.

I like Strike Force Rip in poly/poly hybrids, for example with T1 Firewire mains. Never used it in fb.

How was it?

It is definitely not what they promise it to be.
Used in an 18x20, it seemed to lose tension and get a little uncontrollable relatively quickly after using against some harder hitters. Moved around after only a few hours
Basically just crimped synthetic gut
