Tim Henman disqualified for hitting ball kid.

I'm watching the Hewitt/Nalbandian match and one of the announcers said that Tim Henman got disqualified in a match early on in his career for hitting a ball kid. Tim was meaning to hit the ball into the net but he accidently hit a ball kid.

Any videos of this?

I doubt it. I think it happened during a doubles match. Tim hit the ball in anger just as the ballgirl started to run and it hit her on the head.

Verdasco playing Djokovic (or Djokovic playing Verdasco) hit a ballgirl in the head with an attempted forehand serve return winner.

Can't remember who it was. It's on youtube

Wimbledon, 1995. It happened during a doubles match, earlier rounds. I think he was playing with a fellow Englishman and was defaulted, yep.

You can see a short video on the 'Wimbledon 1995' official film, for those who have it.

EDIT : I can remember that he hit a ball in the air with anger, hurt accidentally a young ballgirl, to whom he offered flowers two or three days later. She hadn't been seriously hurt though.

Didn't Coria once hit a ball boy with his racquet at the French Open? Against Verkerk.

No sure if it was against Agassi, anyhow I do remember that Tournament Director (or someone close to) came up and asked Coria for a public apology, even that Coria gave his t-shirt to the ball boy.

I think he was playing with Neil Broad, first man to get defaulted from Wimbledon.

He was playing with Jeremy Bates as far as i recall.

Unfortunately, it looks like Henman is still a law unto himself, as apparently he has also been banned from visiting any zoo in the UK until 2014, following an unfortunate incident involving a red-faced black spider monkey and a satsuma at London Zoo in 2009!

Johan Brunström (doubles player) got disqualified last year for accidentally hitting a linesmen with his racquet, when performing a racquet smash. Just wanted to share. :)

tim's apologies...
(she didn't seem too severly injured) ;)

Murray got disqualified from Junior US Open after either smashing a racquet and accidentally hitting a linesperson or accidentally hitting a ball at a linesman.

It's OK if it's a normal shot, but not if they hit the ball in anger or something after losing a point and it hits the ballkid.

I realise that, I'm going off the OP, it implied it was an accident, so imo he shouldn't have been penalised for it, if that was the case.
