Time Violations : Nadal vs Brands

I haven't especially taken in specific note, but would you guys agree that Nadal should have had a warning for time violation in that first round ? I gave up after the 3rd and half set. But by then, he was at least a couple of times over 35sec, and many times over 25. And the rules are set at 20. And nobody will argue that there was many crazy rallies... Actually a lot of the times this time violation happened in between games (on top of that 1 minute rest time). Mister walks slowly, one towel for a ball boy, a second towel for a ball boy. And in between changing court side, bottle alignement and all that dirt.

Ok I figured, you all gonna tell me "it doesn't matter they never gonna enforce the rules". But wouldn't it be of interest to document precisely this stuff as a player stat, for every single match ? When you can have all this at every match, ATP/ITF will be more likely to enforce the rules. And a first round should matter as much as any subsequent rounds.

Everybody is so obsessed about drugs testing, which cannot be done properly, this at least, is solid, on tape. It should matter.

Average time in between points, number of times over the regulated time, number of rallies above X points. Etc.
It's rather tedious but this got to be done, don't you think?

Cause it's easy to try to argue who is the best of all times, but using exploited extra rest time, is certainly not going to work your case.

You are the troll, read your post.

I have given valid points. So you are not, obviously, in favor of respecting rules so that each player is matched properly ?

I wish they'd enforce it too, he'd play faster if so, but it's the umpires fault.

No, you are the troll because I am certain you have been banned and are back yet again. This subject is played out and the board is already flooded with these Nadal bashing threads. You starting another one is useless and pointless. I hope it gets deleted with a quickness.

Shocker for a brand new poster to be a troll off the bat!

Nadal is slow but he's not alone. Why single him out? The op's intentions are very clear to me.

So are yours! Very very clear.
You never answered my question.

I did say that recording time in between points, should be in the player's stats. Obviously this got to be done. And yes, only Nadal (or Djokovic) makes that kind of thing comes to daylight. Are we supposed to run around the pot ?
Of course it's a sensitive subject. But if people can't accept critics/debate to try to improve players behaviours and the sport in general, it's rather pointless.

I know Juan Martin is slow too but he should be forgiven, please :( He's tall and plays a game that short people do :D

It's so bad for a spectator watching slow players. I think for players is even worse. It's like showing disrespect. But nobody does anything so players have to cope. They are victims.

And those players are praised as some gladiators because the matches are 6 hours. But in reality most of this time is toweling, ball bouncing and 2 min rests.
In reality they play hard tennis less than an hour.

And slower surfaces make things even worse. Who has the time and a will to watch 6 hour matches? It's like you need fitness now just to watch matches.

Not to mention slower courts are injuring players. I know the wanted to stop boring ace feasts. But they went too far.

The ATP should analyse how long the players take between points on average and set a official time limit. 20 seconds looks too short for me. Also there should be an oncourt clock to see if you're taking too much time.

Just my opinion ;)

Well, you have certainly been banned, and yet here you are back again to complain about everything and everyone, so are you not the troll?
