Tipsy retires from ATP

Janko played his last ATP tournament match today in Stockholm. If you get a chance to watch the end of the match and the ceremony afterwards, please do. It was an exciting match at the end and both players were emotional.

I always get teary-eyed when people retire.

(I should add that Tipsarevic did confirm that he will still be playing in Davis Cup for Serbia. When asked about his most memorable moment in in pro career he said it was when Troicki won a crucial match for Serbia. Tipsy is ever the loyal Serb. Congrats to him on a great career.)

Did Tipsy win?

But not before crushing Fognini one last time.
I'm glad the writers gave him an ending like that. He deserves to go out like a boss.
Ha ha! I'm not a Fognini fan, so that sat well with me.
Having said that, I have to admit that I've not followed Tipsy closely and can't count myself as a long-standing Tipsy fan. I only gotten engaged in ATP in the past couple of years. I do admire all pro players for the grind they must go through. And I respect how it must feel to play that last match. That's why I posted this thread.

It would be helpful for the rest of us if there were some Janko fans who could share some stories about what they've enjoyed about watching him during his career and why .

I think they're referring to John Kapoor, a pharmaceutical executive who was found guilty in an opioid scandal. I'll let them confirm what they are talking about. I certainly don't know so won't cast accusations.

So, I'm getting a sense that others are not fans of Tipsy and that they are implying that he was into pharma use? Is that right? Please support your arguments.
Are there any Tipsy fans? Does anyone want to defend him?

Taken down by foot tumor. We have a user with name Tipsa.... Don'tLikeHim; excellent poaster, so can't defend Tipsy.;) For me he was like a repugnant PCB making World Tour Finals.

If he wanted to go out like a boss then he should have won the tournament. Pretty sure Fognini didn’t turn up or gave it to him because it was his last tournament.

My wife was a huge fan of Tipsa!
He is a great, inteligent guy, made the most out of his abilities.

Is this cool, or what?

Has realy clean simple strokes.
His backhand is a thing of beauty, especialy the mule-kick one.
And then, some magic

So brave, RF, for fighting like this while fighting the crippling and devastating effects of mono, the worst disease since the Black Plague.
Low level trolling. The mono was well documented in that period, but you can believe whatever you want and suits your narrative.Well, in your mind Fed never has health problems or injuries, he is not like his rivals.

Yes, we know Fed is superhuman like Spiderman, he can have the Black Plague and still reach slam semis...

Is Janko's farewell thread going to become about Fedr now?

He said that equal pay for women is ridiculous.

Good riddance to the journeyman while professional women march on.

Virtue-signalers unite!

He is absolutely right. Market forces need to determine earning power, not some Utopian Orwellian Marxist nonsense...

Or did you ever complain that female models make ten times more money than male ones?

You may want to see male models make more money and also want to see more of them, but I will stick to female models, thanks.
