i'm using a APDGT (stock weight),getting tired quickly after 2-3 set of single match..

as topic..should i buy a racquet with lower swing weight or lower static weight?

which one is more tiring :
1.low swing weight,high static weight
2.high swing weight,low static weight

thank you

What's tiring is bad fitness, bad footwork, and bad technique.

It's not the racket; it's how you use it.

swing weight is more important in getting tired than static weight.

if all other factors stay the same, a lower swingweight makes your arm less tired. it just takes less effort to swing it.

Reduce swingweight. There are plenty of racquets that weights same as APDGT (300g unstrung), but swings much lighter. Even Prestige MP (320g unstrung) swings lighter than APD GT.
Low static weight racquet with higher SW will maybe feel lighter when u r fresh, but after few hours it will feel much heavier than racquet with higher static weight and lower SW.

Thanks guys that was a quick replies
Actually,I'm a small guy(only 170cm)
That means i need a lower swing weight racquet? Like yonex vcore 100s,ig speed 300,etc?

What is fatiguing, your shoulder/arm/hand, or your body in-general?

If it is the former, perhaps a more powerful string, lower string tension, or another similar stick, such as the X10 295, or all of the aforementioned. If it is the latter, get some more sleep, eat better, and do some off-court training.

YES! get the Yonex 100S demoed it along with alot of other racquet, mainly the popular babolats such as APD and PD. Loved it way more.

No, that means you need to learn how to move your feet and utilize your core more effectively. Swing with your body, not with your arm.

Not true.

Although Better technique can allow you to use heavier racquets, you have to be strong enough too.

Many juniors that have very good technique use light frames because they don't have strength for heavy frames.

In other words if someone weights only 130 lbs., he can have best technique in the world, but some racquets will always feel heavy for him.

I've seen an 11-yo girl hit groundstrokes with a 13-oz racket with very high swingweight after having already played a singles match against a 15-yo and an adult mixed doubles match, and she was hitting harder than she was with her normal frame (similar to what the OP uses).

She is not big for her age, and you can't say fatigue was not a factor given that she'd played two matches that day. Actually, you can even ignore the part about the groundstokes and just note that I've seen an 11-yo girl play a singles match against a 15-yo and an adult mixed doubles match shortly afterwards using a similar frame as the OP.

Footwork and technique trumps strength.

Many players can play with 13-oz racquet when rallying or playing versus lesser opponets. But she is certainly not so dumb to penalize yourself with 13-oz stick in competitive match. :)

She played a singles match and adult mixed doubles in the same morning using either an APDGT or an Aero Storm (I couldn't tell from where I was sitting). Then, she played a tiebreak with a friend of mine (adult male). Then, my friend had her try my modified Bumblebee OS in some rallies.

So, two full matches and a tiebreak against much older players with a frame similar to or the same as the OP and yet she still had the strength to hit effective groundstrokes using a 13-oz frame in rallies with a man.

Footwork and technique triumph.

If you must go down in SW, try something with a SW around 320 and a static weight around 10.75 to 11.25. An example is a prince ex03 hybrid mid+. A customized volkl o295, or a customized dunlop 300 or many other rackets in that range are all good.

My personal opinion is it isn't the weight of the racket that is making you tired and reducing SW or static weight a bit is not going to do a lot of good especially when you consider the benefits you are giving up in a higher SW such as power, shock absorbsion, and stability. Try getting fitter.

I have a friend who is 66 yrs old and plays the apgt and has no problem handling it. Granted, he plays mostly doubles but he plays a lot of tennis.

Also, demo lower SW before you commit because as I said, you may find the benefits of a lower SW insufficient to cover the disadvantages and there are very real disadvantages.

ye i hope so. you are talking ********. everyone can play with whatever he feels comfortable with. just bc someone is not huge he can still play with heavy racquets end of the discussion.

and rly a 5"7 with 130lbs should be able to wield a apdgt ... appgt is not rly a heavy racquet. girls play with this stick

Really? BITD, she would have had to, and it wouldn't have been dumb because it wouldn't have been by choice. We were able to wield those 13-plus 65in2 frames well because we had the technique and the footwork to do so, just as this competitive female junior apparently does.
