To all Sinner fans

the first thing sinner to deal with is the tactics as he admits he needs to change (not one-dimensional anymore)
for serve, it need not be considered coz every pro needs to keep on improving it (esp disguising different serves and the 1+1)
sinner's serve is not bad but more like one as a tool / basis for his subsequent speedy hittings
such tactic has to be overhauled

Both Cahil and JCF need be kicked out, it is just that Cahil seems to be a bigger problem for Sinner due to the serve that he cannot fix, need a pro turned coach like becker/goran.

give him at least one more chance
similar line on jcf after wimbledon but just see how carlos perfectly won uso

Sinner fan and sinner himself has ro look in the mirror and ask themself how on earth Sinner is not winning Hard court matches against Carlos when it is clear that Sinner is better player than alcaraz in hard courts.
Sinner did well to reach 4 slam finals but if alcaraz is his opponent in AO final then ....who knows Alcaraz wins again .

True man, now i am not confident in Sinner chances against Carlos even at AO if he doesn’t kick Cahill out . His serve is pathetic for someone who is 6ft4 player

As ive said several times. When a player at 5'9" has a better serve than a player at 6'3", something is completely wrong. Sinner has everything it takes to be the dominating force on HC, but at 6'3", the 1st serve really should be your biggest weapon.

That's the thing; it isn't clear that Sinner is better than Carlos anywhere.

Which hard courts? I'll take Carlos over Sinner in their personal matchup on slow-to-medium high-bouncing HC almost every time.

In the end, I think Carlos's best is usually better than Jannik's best everywhere except for the AO and indoor courts.

Has anyone rewatched the match again at all? Took another look at it today along with the highlights from both players through the tournament.

My feeling is that overall it's the best Alcaraz has looked in a hardcourt major. I think in terms of hardcourt in general, his best ever level was Indian Wells a few years ago, but he had a higher floor at this US Open. Ultra efficient and consistent. And that was always the one criticism we had left for Carlos..... we knew his peak level was crazy, but he could go in and out of matches. At US Open that wasn't really happening - gameface was on the whole time.

As a Sinner fan, I'm not happy with the result, but as a tennis fan in general it is so fun watching the momentum shifts between these two. You never know what's going to happen. You can't even take a surface stronghold for granted like you could with The Big 3.

That was Carlo AA+ though, and Sinner was below average. Its not like this will be representative for future slams. Remember its 2-1 in slams this year, and RG was as close as it gets.

Carlo won 84% of 1st serve points (USO25 total), highest average in history on HC is Karlovic with 82.8%. Pete was 81.6%. Carlos average last 52 weeks is 76.7%. As i said, its his AA++, enjoy it, because noone stays at these levels. Sinner will be back;)

Well getting outserved by a player more than 10cm lower than you IS pathetic.

I just hope this rivalry will push both of them to new hights. Sinner sure is going to work hard towards AO25 :giggle:. Lets hope it pays off
I hope people see now 1. Alcaraz is a great server and 2. He has power to match..... or even overwhelm Sinner. Absolutely deadly game all around

Carlos is a new man. He is no longer the “entertain the crowd, win later” showboating rookie. He has grown as a player. Maybe his older brother that travels with him reminded him that he is here to be “the new Federer” and not the new Mansour Bahrami. Federer sits at the table of the greatest to have ever played, Baharami doesn’t. And voila…..even Leheckha at the USO was like…”this is not the guy I beat in Doha earlier this year. This is not even the guy that beat me in that Queens final. This is a different player, he suffocated me”.

The change in mentality should not be attributed to JCF btw. If Carlos doesn’t fire JCF, he should at least hire a second coach imo.

Great point about the serve. Can't believe how locked in and efficient he was all fortnight. Very scary time for us Sinner fans. The gauntlet has been passed back to Sinner in a big way and it is up to him to respond. He undoubtedly will, but then Carlitos will have another little surprise and the cycle will continue :-D

Great to watch. My only hope is we get a few more guys stepping up who can make the QF-SF stages a bit more interesting. At the moment it's just Djokovic having to do all the work and getting wrecked in straight sets.
