Becker Pro.

100sq. inches.

Variety of strings as it depends on what we are testing. Currently have Luxilon M2, M2 Plus and MSV Focus Evo 1.30.

Chris, how would you compare the Becker Pro with the Volkl Powerbridge 8? The two seem to be similar and I'm interested in hearing your opinions. Thanks!

I'm using CyberFlash 17 at 57/55 in a RQiS 1 TOUR. . .Just to save someone from starting a thread to ask my strings/Tension.

The M2 is very soft and comfortable. I find it grabs the ball more and I get a little more hop on topspin shots and more bite on slice compared to Lux original or even ALU Rough.

The Becker Pro is very similar to the PB 8. I think the PB 8 offers a softer, more comfortable feel. The Becker Pro feels crisper to me. I like both of these racquets and could use either happily.

SF -- That’s an extremely spin friendly and control oriented set-up.

Thanks Chris. One more thing how is the tension maintenance?

So far, so good. The M2 seems to be holding tension well, especially for a co-poly. It is not a monofilament, rather, an extruded string with filaments in it so it should hold up better than monofilaments.

Best string set up?

Chris,

Just wondering what is the best string set up you have used so far with the Becker Pro?

My two current favorites are:

Polyfibre TCS 16 @ 52lbs. If we had it in a 1.35mm version, I'd probably switch to that.

Klip X-Plosive 16 Gut/Poly Hybrid @ 52lbs - with the poly in the mains.

I like the softer feel of both of these set-ups and still get great control and more spin than I can find with anything else.

TCS is so spin friendly, it should be illegal. Even in a hybrid it works well for hitting heavy topspin. It does lose tension, so the thicker the gauge the better.

X-Plosive holds tension much better and does well in the spin department, but not as well as TCS.

Any experience with Pacific String

Chris,

Have you tried any of the pacific polys ? In particular the poly extreme and poly x force?

I'm currently stringing my racquets at 52lbs.

Maybe it was the low tension but you must have incredibly heavy shots cause those security guards in the video were just KO'ed as soon as your shots brushed against them..:)

Hi Chris, you have got me interested in the Becker Pro :) coming from heavier, more flexible rackets though, this one seems really light; have you tried lead tape, or do you like it in stock form?

Because of the boxier beam of the POG it has a firmer feel for me than the C10 Pro -- kinda like the difference between PS 6.0 85 and classic Prestige 600.
Both are nice and solid and stable. The C10 Pro cuts through the air better and if you have a one-hander it might be your preferred choice. The POG has excellent plow through power, a big spin window and very forgiving sweetspot, which makes it an obvious choice from the baseline but I've also found it great for serves, volleys and all court play. I get more touch/feel from the C10 Pro. The feel of the C10 Pro is what makes it special for me. With that said it also offers super easy access to depth. I tend to string both tighter than I typically choose simply because both offer ample launch off the stringbed.

Hope that helps.
Cheers, Chris, TW.
