Impressive stuff from both don't you think Lew?

In the second one, Djokovic's mental solidness just amazed me.

The guy somehow found two more gears to go on B.Ps

But quality wise this one is not even close to 2011. Crazy ballstriking from both in first two sets.

I liked both hard to say. Liked the contrast in different styles in 2015 and the baseline fearlessness in 2011.

Federer then proceeded to win 3 slams LOL.

Imagine Djokovic or Nadal being called babies after they had won 3 slams.

Hard to imagine calling Federer a weak opponent. The more politically correct term would be that he isn't as good a player as he was before.
Umm i think you play tennis right? The big 3 all have a better game tactics and variety than they had when they were younger. Also this whole notion that they have lost massive amounts of speed and their reaction times are that of a geriatric imbecile are way exxaggrrated and blown way out of proportion. Fed lost a noticable step around 36. Lots of this nonsense is agenda driven. Many want 2007 to be the last year of tennis. So i aint buying alot of this ocean front property in a hurricane.

Happens ALL the time, so what?

Nadal 2007 at Wimbledon wasn't at his peak yet right? lol

EDIT:

What is Fed supposed to say in this vid? "Yeah the other players suck you know. I myself am worse than I used to be given the fact that I am losing left and right to mugs, so yeah" Didn't Federer say the same about 04-07 players which Fed haters (no not Djokovic or Nadal fans) vehemently argue to be a weak era because Federer won a lot of titles?

Federer didn't like the question because it was putting him on the spot with other players. The reporter practically acknowledged the fact that Federer has declined by phrasing the question in past tense when concerning Fed's dominance.

Djokovic was peak in 06 when he was in control of the match against peak Nadal at RG.

On the other hand, Lewis has had several threads lately proving definitively that the weak era began in 2011. Roger’s narcissistic analysis BTFO’d by TTW’s stats legend.

Therefore we should only look at achievements from the period where the big 3 were all peak/prime for 5 years, before the weak era began.

Strong era stats:

Roddick:
1 slam
13 weeks at #1
5-3 H2H lead
1 model wife
0 cases of bird flu
0 real gluten allergies

Djokovic
1 slam
0 weeks at #1
3-5 H2H chasm
0 model wives
1 case of bird flu
0 real gluten allergies

Novak a few days ago at the AO ceremony:
"Dominique, I'm sure you will win one in the future" - (ehh, or more than one!)

So uplifting words, no salt in the wound at all

They have those because they are not the players they used to be.

Reporter wasn't asking about Federer, he was talking about lost gen and next gen...

"...no great opponents in the future..."
Fed got offended because he was and would be Djokovic opponent in the future.

Of course he was thinking about himself when he answered that question. Can't deny the obvious insinuation that stupid reporter did. Fed is too smart to fall for that.

He didn't say young opponents. He said opponents in the future which included Federer.

He said no great opponents in the future e.g. not the present. Fed is obviously much too arrogant to think the reporter was talking about him anyway - it's obvious that's not how he took it as he immediately started talking about "other players".

No more along the lines that these guys push themselves. They get solved and change. Nadal aint winning nothing off clay with 2008 game. Goes for all players. Nothing is static with these pros. You can get away with it for only so long.

Good point which goes missed a lot. You have to change it up to stay competitive. A lot of people think you can play the way you did 10 years ago and win big because you were a better athlete but forget that 10 years ago, people had already figured out your patterns of play.

Lol these guys already have stated over and over again how they have pushed each other and we are wimpering about the evolution of the game. If fed was a few years younger he prob would find a way to solve djokovic and beat him in a major again. Time has run out for fed at this stage. But you never know.

Saying 2008 Nadal wins nothing off clay is a hypothetical though right? Either way it should be plainly obvious that 2008 Nadal is leagues ahead of any similarly aged player today...
Wtf was he winning off clay in 2008? This is more fed fan semantics.

Every other major sport has been able to produce great players in the last 11 years. You would have a point if the young guys were only stopped by big 3 rather than losing to random mugs

All these pros and ex pros and coaches talk about it all the time. Yet TTW is like WUT?!

It’s as stupid as the people who call 2003-2007 a weak era which suddenly became strong in 2008 despite having mostly the same players as 2007.

Yea players study each other like final exams. They know each orher patterns, their strengths, weaknesses, serving patterns, etc. becuase they watch the tapes. You take asay the element of surprise if you place a player from 10 years ago into today's game.

The way you guys talk sometimes it's a wonder anyone ever retires lol. Go down the line a little more often off the forehand or hit and come in off the second serve and the years will just melt away :-D

If the quality of movement and shot has diminished there's only so much mixing up your patterns of play will do. Make no mistake if there was a 26 year old Djokovic in the final a couple of weeks back instead of Thiem it would have been made painfully clear to you all what the limits of better experience are.

2015 could have been a classic if it wasn’t for 1. Fed missing soooooo many routine FHs and second serve returns and 2. The hostile atmosphere

Random mugs? Try and get into the top 100.

Boring.

2000 Safin
2001 Hewitt
2003 Federer/Roddick
2005 Nadal
2007 Nole
2008 Murray
2009 JMDP
Then nothing for 11 years

Even guys who peaked later, first made waves in the above period like Stan and Cilic.

In hockey, this decade has produced future legends like Mcdavid and Mackinnon.
In the NFL we have likely future goat candidate Mahomes.
NBA has a number of great young players, soccer as well.
On and on it goes.

Meanwhile, lost gen is already old and next gen stars are losing in R1 to Fucsovics
